Caris Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 I played on one today at Game, got to say I was very impressed. Didn't play games just messed around with the AR cards, camera etc. I was really impressed with the 3D effect, it's just like a 3D except no glass are needed!

That is quite encouraging The early Ridge Racer games were pretty good, particularly Ridge Racer 64 and Ridge Racer Type 4 but I haven't played one since Ridge Racer V which was, to say the least, a little disappointing I'd quite like to try Ridge Racer 3D at some point, but probably not to first gmae on my 3DS 'to buy' list

Grazza Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Ridger Racer and Pilotwings are my two launch picks. Ridge Racer was always a good series. If this is up to standard, it'll be great fun to play in bed, zooming round the circuits.

We all love a game to show off the new functionality but it's gotta last a while too. I remember yoshi's touch and go getting good reviews but in the original Ds' time.... Despite the game lasting about 5 minutes

Can't say much for GameGear as I didn't play/own many games for it (although the Lion King was ace on it as was Streets of Rage 2) but the TurboGraphx-16 has some of the best Shmups on any console so I'm all for them coming to the 3DS. Shmups would look great in 3D and while I doubt the VC games will be redone for 3D, they'll still look and play great with the circle pad.

It might just have been the quality of the LCD screen at the time though. Pretty strange that there's no GBA though. If the Wii can do the N64, surely the 3DS can do GBA? I want Ninja Five-O!

I'll be at a complete loss, if we won't see a GBA VC within the 3DS' lifetime. It's not like Nintendo are in a hurry though.
Eddage Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Nintendo are blatantly gonna get as much as they can out of GB/GBC/GG/TG at launch then release GBA games a little later. If they released GBA games from the get go then other games would probably not sell as well as they will without the competition.
