Happenstance Posted April 25 Posted April 25 I probably would have traded in all my dvds at some point but I got rid of all the boxes and put them into sleeves and an organiser drawer. That of course now lives in the garage so well worth the effort!
Will Posted April 26 Posted April 26 For anyone interested here is the stuff I’ve sorted through so far at my parents place: Spoiler Not sure whether to give eBay a try or just dump it all to CEX. Are there any other ways of getting rid of this type of stuff nowadays? 2 1
Will Posted April 26 Posted April 26 The box is a bit banged up but one of those Dreamcasts is brand new: 1
Hero-of-Time Posted April 26 Posted April 26 The new Dreamcast is probably worth putting on eBay. Given its condition, you will probably get a lot more than what CEX are offering.
Will Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Yeah, I might try it for all of the potentially higher value stuff. The difference between CEX buy and sell price is quite wide, even landing half way between feels worth it.
Ashley Posted April 26 Posted April 26 You kept things in good condition by the looks of it. Was in CEX earlier killing time and I saw a GBA and it reminded me of picking mine up on launch day at the Game where years later I would end up working. Always felt it was cool that my reservation number was 007.

For the most part yes, I’m a bit annoyed with my Dad for ramming so so much of it in boxes too small to move house but I guess that’s my fault for not being there to sort it properly. 1 hour ago, Ashley said: Was in CEX earlier killing time and I saw a GBA and it reminded me of picking mine up on launch day at the Game where years later I would end up working. Amazingly Stourbridge used to have an awesome little Indy game store and they sorted a Japanese one with Mario Kart for me. I was the coolest kid in school. 1

Will Posted April 28 Posted April 28 For anyone interested I'm putting together a List of Stuff I'm getting rid of. If anything takes your fancy let me know. 1 2

That’s a fantastic collection you have there! If it helps decided what you’re going to do with them, I’m selling my N64 collection on eBay so I can tell you what I get for them if that helps? I see you have a few N64 games on your list and some are the same as ones I’m selling. I’m trying out a few of the rarer ones with 10 day listings, the remaining 19 I’m putting up for 7 days on Sunday. Here’s my link to my Mario Party 3 eBay listing. I’m hoping the likes of Paper Mario and Conker do well, but I’m not sure about many of the others.
WackerJr Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Quick question I’d love to get the opinions of you lovely people: I’ve just been offered £350 on eBay for my boxed copy of Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness if I stop my auction & put it up for that as a “Buy it now” price. Worth it? They’ve got good feedback and seems a good price to me, but I haven’t had this kind of request before so wonder if anyone else had too?

That's well above the market value for even a complete in box copy of the game, sounds sus to me. That being said, there wouldn't be any real harm in relisting the auction as a Buy-It-Now; just as long as you do not listen to any requests to sell outside of the site. NEVER accept any purchase offer that doesn't go directly through eBay, there will be no seller protection whatsoever if you do this and you will almost certainly be scammed. As long as they purchase through eBay directly though, there's no harm in using the Buy It Now option. Edited May 3 by Dcubed 1

Personally, I would end the item right now, and relist it for £350 without hestation if everything seems to be in order. I always list with a Buy It Now price instead of auctions, as it tends to filter out the serious buyers from those who don't seem that bothered whether they buy the item, or not. You can always accept offers, and then set the offer to the amount which you would feel comfortable accepting. If you're going to set the price at £350, then I'd set the offer price at £325, but no lower, for example, especially as you seem to have found the price which at least someone is willing to pay, and looking at the condition, I'm not too surprised as it's an exceptional condition copy of Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness, which in terms of N64 collecting - rather than the game itself - is a very desirable game. Go for it, sell it with confidence, you've got excellent feedback on eBay, and I know that you package items well, as I've both bought from you before, on eBay and on the forum, so I just want to say thanks again for the times when you've helped me out. Wishing you every success, and chances are, I might even buy that GameCube controller from you, as it looks to be in excellent condition, though it'll surely have no problem selling as it is currently on an auction listing. Cube Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Randomly mentioned in an Xbox article, remakes of the first two Ecco the Dolphin games plus a new one is in development with the original team. Quote Me and the entire original team are going to Remaster the original Ecco the Dolphin and Tides of Time games. Then we will make a new, third game with contemporary play and GPU sensibilities. Stay tuned to eccothedolphin.com Looks like the full reveal is a year away, though. 1 3
Cube Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Are 8-Bit Do controllers still good? I'm looking at getting a controller more suited for 2D games, but still with plenty of features for lots of remapping if needed. I'm looking at this one at the moment:
Happenstance Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Yeah they’re still great. I have that one and it tends to be thought of as one of the best in their line. Always works well for me. 1
Ike Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I got their Ultimate 2 controller with the TMR sticks and really like it. Probably not the best for 2D games though. 1
Cube Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Thanks, I've ordered one. Looks nice with plenty of extra buttons for various screenshot/emulator functions.

Julius Posted Sunday at 11:17 PM Posted Sunday at 11:17 PM Went to the Birmingham Gaming Market today, which was held at a different venue with SO MUCH more space than last year's event, had way more vendors, and was all around just a much jollier time. Just the one pick-up for me this year: When I picked up GTA IV a while back, I did what I normally do and dodged the Complete Edition (because I'm a bit weird like that; don't worry, this has already bit me in the ass in that I needed to restart my game after the opening 2 hours to install the trophy patch ), but then when I learned that the DLC was available as a separate disc, I knew I'd want to pick it up. Hovered over Episodes from Liberty City on eBay last week but figured I'd wait to see if I could pick it up at today's event, and with it being the main game I was gunning for, my friends helped me out and one of them found it. So, a success! Besides that, my list didn't really change too much in terms of wants from last year... On 4/11/2024 at 3:05 PM, Julius said: I had a few priority items on my mind for this event: Silent Hill 2 - one of the horror games I want to get around to this year, in its original form rather than the remake. Armored Core games - I adored VI, so I'll be picking up most if not all of these as time goes on, I'm sure! Suikoden V - the only mainline Suikoden I don't own in some form or another. I saw a couple of copies of Silent Hill 2 on PS2, but they were all the cardboard, non-Platinum versions of the game and so...yeah, all looked worse for wear. Hilariously... On 4/11/2024 at 3:05 PM, Julius said: I did spot copies of Armored Core V and Verdict Day from a mile off, too, but unfortunately these were JP copies and so I wouldn't be able to play them ...same stall, same guy, presumably the exact same Japanese copies a year removed still on sale. My question to him wasn't "oh hey is that Armored Core V/Verdict Day?" but "are those the Japanese copies?" they also had a Japanese Platinum series-equivalent copy of Last Raven, and elsewhere on the floor I also saw a rogue copy of Nine Breaker which was only £50, albeit not in pristine condition, but much cheaper than the £140 copy I saw last year. Suikoden V I found! ...a Japanese copy of. Oof. The big miss for me of the day - same stall as Armored Core V/Verdict Day - which I don't really see it as because this is the outcome I wanted, was a Japanese limited edition box set of Shadow of the Colossus and ICO on PS3, which looks like this: It's a lovely box set and something I've been aware of for a few years now, I think since my Birmingham Comic Con 2023 pick-ups of the standard Japanese PS2 versions of these games, think it's so cool they got the PS3 versions released separately. We actually beelined to the back area of the convention after first getting in (just in case there was anything worth immediately grabbing) which was when I spotted it, and it was £60 – high enough for me to want to give it a bit of thought, but low enough that I was happy to pick it up at that price (seen it for £40ish on eBay a few times). So I figured, hey, if it's mean to be, it's meant to be – I know it's not a super, super rare item, but it would have been cool to pick it up at a show rather than import it/buy it off eBay, and so decided I'd come back to it at the end of the show, and if it were still there? I'd pick it up, no questions asked. So we do that. We go back at the end of the show. It's gone! Little bit of a bummer, but alas. I ask the guy working the stall, standing right in front of where it was earlier in the day, and he has no idea what I'm talking about, and then there's a guy right next to him flicking through some games (quite a few customers had gone behind the stall to access the more costly games) with what in his hand? That same Japanese PS3 Shadow of the Colossus/ICO box set. Must've just barely missed out, which honestly made it sting a good bit more than just knowing it was gone. But don't worry, those funds were allocated elsewhere in my gaming market spending – just not on retro games Let's see, other stuff I noticed about the event/cool stuff I saw walking around? There was a chips stall (as in, chips from a chippy) and I had my belief reaffirmed that some people don't understand how much vinegar is too much because MAN could you tell from half a stadium away that someone was approaching with chips in their hand! A lot more vlogging and cameras this time around, spotted a few smaller YouTubers I follow again this year (mostly the same ones from last year's event). Suikoden II on PS1 still goes for an extortionate amount (£375), saw a bunch of copies of Symphony of the Night on PS1 (also extortionate, pushing closer to £500), loads of Pokémon (extortionate pricing for pretty much anything on DS or earlier when it came to the main series – so glad I still have my childhood collection as I would have had a tough time affording to pick them all up for nostalgia's sake now! My Pokémon White 2 purchase at the start of COVID is paying off though, that was £35 and people are selling it for over £100 more ), and ooo I didn't know this but Peace Walker HD on PS3 in Japan got a separate physical release to the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection? Super cool find that, I was admittedly very tempted! Not quite sure what form, if any, my MGS collection could take (Birmingham Comic Con being a month after the MGS concert means it'll probably be a thing...), so I left it for now, but it'll be something to keep an eye out for in the future. Shortly after finding that Peace Walker HD, there was a kid who was probably 13 or 14 there with his mum who I heard saying he was looking for Snake Eater, and it was so sweet hearing his mum help him out and take interest in his hobby, and she swiftly spotted Sons of Liberty. This was a Japanese-only stall but I wanted to try to help and encourage him a bit (because his taste in games was clearly excellent!) and had just spotted the Snake Eater shortly before myself, so I grabbed it for him, but also pointed out it was Japanese but that I was sure he'd find it another stall. I hope he did! Overall, much better than last year's event, had a blast! Bigger venue, more space, super friendly staff and vendors, admittedly it did get a bit hectic when the second wave of people came in around 12:00 and the congestion at the stall themselves with the third wave around 13:00 when we hit the middle of the floor was rough. I left shattered, but I went in a bit worse for wear and my eyes a bit strained still from an entire day of building LEGO yesterday, so Looking forward to next year's already! Third time's the charm for Suikoden V, surely? Rather than the fifth? 1 1
