From what I can gather, it's not a printing error. Definitely does seem steep as that'll be 1500 Nintendo Points on the Wii. I'd guess it'll still carry the $15 price on PSN, and probably convert exactly over to £15 when it comes here, and on XBL I wouldn't be surprised if it came in at somewhere around or over the 1200 MS point mark.

Think I'll stick with Sonic Colours this year.

Hmm, I was looking forward to this, but I have my priciples. Unless all the individual parts are complete games in themselves, I'm really not paying 1500 Wii points if that's what they end up being. That's 60 euros for a digital game, more expensive than most other Wii games on disc. They should take a look at Capcom's business model.

This could be the end of Sega, because the price makes no sense for a part-game.

Nah, it must be a mistake / placeholder price.. They really can't ask that. Even the normal 1000 points would be too much unless, like I said, each part is pretty much a complete game on its own. I don't know if they already mentioned anything about how much content each part would contain? How many levels etc.?

Everyone's favorite blue hedgehog will be ready to go next month as SEGA announced the release date for several versions of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I.

The game will be available for download on the iTunes App Store starting Oct. 7, the Wii Shop Channel on Oct. 11 (15th Oct in EMEA territories), the PlayStation Network on Oct. 12 in America (Oct 13th in EMEA territories), and Xbox Live Arcade on Oct. 13 across all territories.

Sonic 4 will be priced at 1500 Wii Points on WiiWare, 1200 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live Arcade, and $14.99 / £9.99 / €12.99 / AU$19.95 on the PlayStation Network.

SEGA previously delayed the title last spring to allow for more development time. The publisher has not said how many episodes it plans to release in this series.

People pay £25 for Sonic games on the DS, but not £10 on a home console?

I don't get it, the price is fine.

The difference with paying £25 for the Sonic games on the DS is that they've actually been good games, and considerably better than anything available on the home consoles Sonic wise for years now. You're also getting more content in those than you are here, seeing as there's only 4 levels split into 2 acts with bosses.

£15 for it is slightly steep. Lets put it this way, I payed the £15 to get World of Goo on WiiWare and that more than satisfied that price point and could have technically been set at a much higher price. From what I've seen of this so far, it doesn't come close to matching World of Goo in terms of the quality of a downloadable game. Just my opinion really.

No, too expensive tbh. Not unless it gets rave reviews all round.

ho ho i'm not holding out for that!

by the looks like things it'll get decent reviews, hardcore sonic fans will be able to pick apart the game though and since it's the game that's supposedly aimed at us we have every right to.

I do worry about it trying to throw nostalgia in for the sake of it. Like

" look it's a casino zone level where you can jump into a slot machine REMEMBER THIS!!!!!!???"

For it to be worthy of the sonic 4 title it should have some brand new ideas. But am.... I suppose I shouldn't give sonic team any ideas to fuck it up.

To be fair though it looks well improved from the leaked version a while back. However we haven't seen a decent gameplay video for a while. All the recent ones have been too fast to judge.

hmmm it is weird that back in they day people would pay full price for these games that could be completed in like 2 hours if not less yet now that doesn't represent value such has what we expect moved on...

The thing is, back in the mega-drive era games like this couldn't be completed in 2 hours because you didn't have a save function. If you died 3 times you had to start all over again, even when you got to the baddass boss at the end of Sonic 2! That's what made games last.
