Some thread about 3D gaming where people argue

Nope, scroll up; everyone acknowledged that the shaftee was you. Stop kidding yourself, sunshine.

You fail with him then.

Same principal as cameras or TV's. Just because its 12 megapixels, HD or anything, does not mean thats what you get. Nothing is created equal. Unless you live the dream of the Empire being your average cinema.

I do like the people making a fool of themselves here in their rush to prove something against me. Certainly afew fellows here have been carried away alongside Daft and got lost in their own mire. Its not like didnt realise the very first moment Daft began arguing :)

See, this is funny, because I used proof and sourced my points.

You used........... Oh, I remember. Nothing.

There is good stuff on places like wikipedia. But the BBC are hardly experts on cinema. Posting a regurgitated PR isnt much really.

Though i do see where you are coming from you seem insistent that I think all film and cinema are low quality and that i am somehow disagreeing with you. I am talking about my local cinemas and ones that i have ever been to. They are hardly the Empire or Imax!

The top cinemas are great. Film is still good for way beyond the tech we use to see movies. But the average cinema is another matter. I never go wow look at the quality of the picture in the ones i use. Only the Odeon in my area has a decent quality picture which looks like 720p. You thought I meant it really was 720p. You seem so insistent to prove me wrong on something/anything, when there is nothing to argue about... from the beginning.

Most cinema i have been to in London are quite blurry, definately not high quality at all. I go very regularly though and enjoy it anyway. From a picture quality point of view, my home experience outdoes them easily. But i cant go all the way to Empire or the Imax, too far to travel and quite expensive unless its something special like Avatar.

“Nothing sways the stupid more than arguments they can't understand”

You're right. There was nothing to argue about because you were simply completely wrong. Re-read the thread.

Where exactly are these cinemas in London? I've been to a fair few and never ever to one that was low quality and blurry. You should try some others as the ones you are going to must be crap.

Or maybe you just have a much better TV setup than most? I'm looking at getting a new one soon so would love to know what you have.

The question is does anyone need it right now? Sure it would be nice to have it but do we really need it or is some company telling us that we really need it. Sony just got out of the whole Blu-ray vs HD DVD mess and now I hear there's a few rival 3D set ups as well. I'm happy to wait until which ever format wins and the prices comes down a lot before buying thank you very much.

I remember hearing about the PC version of RE5 that is able to output in 3D with the right tech. I don't care, I don't have money to burn for special glasses and a special graphics card, RE5 is fine where it is on my PS3.

Precisely sumo73 :) - welcome to the forums btw - 3D should be considered as nothing more than a nice bonus atm, once they start implementing the technology into TV sets in a year or two (or whatever) as standard, maybe then it will be an extra appreciated element to entertainment but it's certainly not essential by any stretch of the imagination.

You don't need a special GPU, just the monitor and glasses. Possibly it may have to be an Nvidia GPU, but I don't think so, still not a special one.

I'm interested in 3D PC gaming and 3D cinema. It just seems 'right' in those situations and for some reason a pair of glasses seems like less of an obstacle. For the rest i'm thinking it's a no. I don't want to be sprawled out on my bed with a pair of glasses uncomfortably sticking in to my face, it's one of the reasons i now ware contacts. Then there's the little issue of the 42" Plasma TV and Blu-Ray player i bought last year. I can't see me replacing either for a LONG time, they set me back well in excess of a grand!

Just read all this. This deserves some kind of internet award for incompetent arguing, not just an n-e award. It was always suspected, but this confirms it: Choze, you're and idiot.

This 3D thing was previously interesting me as a gaming curio but now I've got to wear glasses for reading, using computers and using TV's...urgh how will I wear 3D specs, people what do we do?!!!!!

Wow...

Is there some kind of web awards we can submit this argument to?

I'm strangely interested in Choze now.

Can you answer these questions quickly for us:

How old are you?

What's your job?

Any mental illness in the family?

The concept 3D gaming is rather intriguing, although I'm not sure if it's really needed. As long as I can see and play games nicely on my HD telly, that's all that matters to me. I can imagine survival horror games being absolutely teriffying in 3D though, so I guess that'd work quite well.

Ashley, your blowing my mind.

And being as you'll be watching 3D porn, your mind won't be the only thing that's being blown! :heh:Sorry, so sorry.

Oh, and Choze, this is for you...
