Fierce_LiNk Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay! My girl won! She's in Spain so she probably won't be seeing this right now. I'm going to send her a text message to let her know how she did.
Retro_Link Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I'm glad the majority of the 10 feature a machine element as required! However this one made it through... I'm yet to see the machine reference...
Fierce_LiNk Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Well done to everyone. Unlucky that you didn't make it Retro underscore Link, but there will be plenty of other competitions. Keep at eet. Good work Goafer and Ine's friend. I've just messaged Ine and she was in a little disbelief, heh. But, she's chuffed and wants to thank everyone for the support. About that image, Retro: Maybe it's about the guitar powering that heart? So, its still mechanical, but in the same way that the human body is mechanical?

So, its still mechanical, but in the same way that the human body is mechanical?Yeah I did think you could argue something like 'the heart is a machine' or something like that, but I'm not sure. I should have entered my stormtrooper/beatles T (as that's doing quite well for me on redbubble)... and I would have done had I known the entry guideline were going to be taken so vaguely. But this was my first comp and I wasn't sure if you could class stormtroopers as a machine, but judging by some of the other random entires I'd have easily got away with it! That's the only thing I can think of, but I might be wrong. Don't worry about it, as it's only a competition after all. Now that you know what's involved in entering and stuff, you can prepare for future ones. Some of the stuff that people enter do range widely. There's some that me and Ine just didn't like when we were scrolling through the entry list, and there's some we just thought....whaaaaat?
Retro_Link Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Oh yeah it's fine I wasn't really expecting anything, and now I've learnt I don't necessarily have to take things so literally, or do the obvious... So roll on the next comp!
My Buttons are Magic! Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 it technically says "Basically anything involving a musical tool, weapon or instrument." but congrats anyways =)
Molly Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Wow, well done Eenuh! Flinkster you have to make sure she comes to Carnaby Street to see them being displayed!
Goafer Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I'm a little surprised I made the top 10. My stuff never seems to do well in competitions. Maybe I've been hoarding all my luck, ready to use it all on this one. Down to the judges now. If I knew where they were, I'd sleep with them. Hell, I'd even cuddle afterwards.
Retro_Link Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Personally I think this one's fantastic... It does everything, is really creative and well designed and is really fun (love the conductor at the front), I hope it gets chosen as one of the top 5.
Eenuh Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 Yayyyy top 10! =D Didn't expect it at all! Now just to hope for a place in the top 5 so they will buy my shirts whoo! Congrats to you too Goafer, well done. =) Personally I think this one's fantastic... It does everything, is really creative and well designed and is really fun (love the conductor at the front), I hope it gets chosen as one of the top 5. Yeah it's pretty great and creative! The user who made it sent me a bubblemail to congratulate me, nice person. =)
EEVILMURRAY Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I maintain those blueprints were stolen from Sportacus' blimp in Lazytown.
Jonnas Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Woohoo! Congratulations to you both I'm glad to see a couple of others I voted for also made it.
Shino Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Congrats to both, I wish I was here at the time to give mah vote but you guys didn't need it anyway.
Eenuh Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 (edited) Seems Goafer is one of the five winning people in the contest. Congrats! =) Link to the winners: http://www.redbubble.com/people/redbubble/journal/3773157-one-store-five-winners-one-hundred-shirts Edited September 15, 2009 by Eenuh
Coolness Bears Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Congrats! My apologies for not voting! :p I forgot my password got frustrated at the website and then finished with my usual routine of forgetting! You know the score Eenuh.
Goafer Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 (edited) Fuck modesty, I am literally amazing. Edited September 16, 2009 by Goafer
ReZourceman Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Wow. So RedBubble is actually just the premier outlet for NE Winning people. Seriously you folks are gonna need a manager, and I think you'll find my rates are very reasonable.
Goafer Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Cheers guys. It's kind of shit that Eenuhs wasn't chosen. It was the most popular in the public vote and it's amazing. No justice. The other winners for those who can't be arsed to click the link:
Raining_again Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Were the 5 winners chosen by a panel or something? Seems stupid that Ine's wasn't in the 5, hers was definitely amongst the best!
Goafer Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 The winners were chosen by people from the store that will be putting them on the shelves. I can see the logic, but it's hardly fair on the people who were voted highest in the public vote. Although I shouldn't complain, I should be grateful I guess.
Paj! Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Considering the second one of that 5 is pretty uninteresting. Eenuh's would have been way better. Congrats all and sundry.
Goafer Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 The second one is probably my favourite. Reminds me of a Gorrilaz music video for some reason. Not a big fan of the third one. The rest are very good.
Jonnas Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Congratulations, Goafer! I'm disappointed that Eenuh's didn't make it. One would think that the public voting would give them a hint about popular opinion... I'm not a fan of the 3rd one either. The 1st one isn't really my style, but it's not bad. The others were great, though (including Goafer's, of course)
