Charlie Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Had a great day today Was out at a local pub last night for the Christmas party and saw loads of people I haven't seen in ages which was great, got home totally sober (was driving) at half 12ish and went straight to bed as my family were already in bed. Somehow I got a lie in until about 8am as my sister didn't wake up until then. Came down, opened my stocking and got a few cool wee things I needed, pens and stuff mainly. Then got my main present from my parents, new speakers which was the only 'big' thing I asked for. Then went to church which was a rather poor service if I'm perfectly honest, wish I'd gone last night instead now (knew I shouldn't have trusted the Protestant service!). Afterwards went straight over to my cousins and had Christmas lunch there and spent the rest of the afternoon there socialising. Opened presents there from my grand and cousins families. Got a white board (well it's actually a glass board) (one of the things that teachers write on and then can rub off) which is what I wanted for my room in Glasgow. Also got a nice hot chocolate mug and hot chocolate making stuff. Came home about an hour ago and opened presents from my siblings and got the poster I've been wanting for ages; the Radiohead OK Computer posted with some of the lyrics from 'Fitter Happier' at the top. All in all it's been a great day, thoroughly enjoyed it, topped off by a fantastic lunch.
Jimbob Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Stuff received for Christmas Thought it were easier to take a picture than to write it all down. Edit: The Top Gear box-set i got has the fixed Challenges DVD, so no more moving onto the next one halfway through the current challenge. Edit: Not pictured was £140 cash presents.
Paj! Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 C'maaan, don't bullshit me! I'm not sure whether that's sarcastic, or just a really flawed comment on your part. The book in question corectly acknowledged both Like A Prayer and Ray Of Light by Madonna (and another album by her, that I wouldn't agree was her best by any means...maybe it was just "important")... --- I forgot I also got a really cool T-shirt, and purple and black checked shirt.
Pookiablo Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 I got numerous things but nothing beats the best surprise present I've ever received: That's right folks, an official lightsaber replica. My God it made me cream when I turned it on. I'm hoping the youtube thing works, if not! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MAdxWDEIqZ0
Paj! Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Forgot I also got All The Boys Love Mandy Lane on DVd also.

They are cool though, with all their sounds and stuff. =)

They are cool though, with all their sounds and stuff. =) That's a good effort on your part, musta cost a bomb! My Pop managed to get it it surprisingly cheap compared to most places. Videos of me as pretending to be Luke Skywalker are yet to come. I just need a costume now!

Videos of me as pretending to be Luke Skywalker are yet to come. I just need a costume now! I think right now you can get them for about half the price I paid or it I think (and I bought it in 2005 apparently, still have the order confirmation in my email box, haha). =P Apparently I bought the Anakin Skywalker Lightsaber Ep III FX one though... yeah. X3
nightwolf Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 haha oh dear, shame on you pooki! Although let's face it I would do exactly the same if I got something like that!
Supergrunch Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 I got Guitar Hero: World Tour, the Oxford Book of Modern Science Writing, Don't Sleep, There are Snakes (book about a crazy language by a linguist who is himself quite possibly crazy), season 7 of Family Guy, a technical book on Chomskyan syntax, some choclatey things. Oh, and a really odd shirt from my grandparents... Some cool things overall, methinks.
Aimless Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 My sister bought me Sia's album Colour The Small One — fantastic! — and a book, Jim: The Nine Lives of A Dysfunctional Cat — very funny and true to life. From my parents I got some chocolate and a few toiletries. I also received Valkyria Chronicles for the PS3 from, erm, me. It doesn't look like my brother's doing presents this year, although that's hardly surprising given the debt he's in. Strange how he can always afford to go out drinking, though. Funny, that.

Molly Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 well the merryment here has just about wound down so I don't feel guilty being on the computer now! -£100 from my nanna -£20 from my aunt -£30 from family friends -£20 hmv vouchers from other family friends -A dvd, 2 pairs of earrings and money towards my shiny new TV from my parents. My brother and I decided not to bother. It's not so much about the presents bit here though (obviously used to be when we were little), now it's mainly about family, food and booze!
Gizmo Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I got; Pure, Mirrors Edge, Dead Space, Banjo Kazooie N&B, LocoRoco2, a couple of books (including the new Jeremy Clarkson, woot) some clothes, and most importantly: Awesome gaming chair. Only slight problem is it's a little low if I'm sitting upright playing, but most of the time I'm slouching and reclining back so it's fine. Speakers are awesome - looking forward to giving Dead Space a blast with it.
Wesley Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 My girlfriend got me: Which I was very happy about.
Shino Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I tell you guys what I DIDN'T get... socks! No one in the family received a single pair of them! Freaky!
Paj! Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I didn't get socks...I don't think I ever have. They just aren't very thoughtful a present (if given generically, or whatever the term is).
chairdriver Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I got 3 pairs - but to be fair to Santa - they are patterned in a lovely manner, and are actually interesting to wear / look at. I think lovely socks are essential to live life to its fullest.
Wesley Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 And from my Mum and her husband: Which I am also very happy about.
