Raining_again Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 ffs.... Do your parents not have anything to say about this all? Good luck tho - I hope whatever you chose to do works out for the best. =)
ReZourceman Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Try taking a video camera to the door and see if it's locked. (This is actually an awesome idea) If its not too far away check it everyday you are in, and film it on your phone if you catch it open.
Emasher Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 What they are telling you is BS dude. You need to contact a lawyer. You need to sue the school for gross incompotence, then you need to sue the police also. You need to contact your local paper, then one of the tabloids, they love making the police look bad. The police who saw you should have a record of everything that was said, if not the meeting never happened. You want a written and signed copy of everything they say, if they refuse you can tell them to get out. With them saying "Its easier to lie" you can get them royaly fucked. Dont lie down and them them butt fuck you. Fight them, then earn yourself a few quid. Probably the best suggestion yet. For sure get the papers involved.
The fish Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Try taking a video camera to the door and see if it's locked. Now that is a good idea... You need to contact your local paper, then one of the tabloids, they love making the police look bad. ...and that is not, it'll make the police dislike him which is not what he needs right now...
Esequiel Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Considering the police are saying "Suck it up, say your a liar, give us £80 and we will leave you alone" i think hes past the point where he cares if the police like him or not.
Noodleman Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Been thinking about this some more, and im sure the policeman telling to say your lying even if you aren't would be absolutly ripped apart in a court by a half decent lawyer. If you had any proof he said that of course.
MoogleViper Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Buy a dictaphone and make sure you use it whenever the police come to talk to you. But make sure they don't know you're doing it. Now that is a good idea... You didn't think I became the GLA secreat agent because of my looks did you? (Well not just for that.)
The fish Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Actually, I can see where you're coming from looks-wise: EDIT: It may just be for me, but the image isn't loading. CURSE YOU PHOTOBUCKET! *shakes fist*
Slaggis Posted January 22, 2008 Author Posted January 22, 2008 Thanks for all the help guys. My parents have been speaking to a lawyer who say this is just the police trying to finish off a case to get it on the books etc. Basically, they're being lazy and cause a big hassle for me in the process. The lawyers going to talk the the police and get back to us in the next few days, so hopefully it will get sorted. I'm not paying a fine, and if I have to take it further to prove I got threatened, then I will.
Razz Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Good for you! I think it'd disgusting that police are acting like that quite frankly. Wish you the best of luck.
Daft Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 GO ON HAGGIS!! NO MERCY!! GIVE THEM NOTHING! TAKE FROM THEM *slight dramatic pause* EVERYTHING!!!
Nintendohnut Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Yeah good on you, fight them to the death. TO THE DEATH I TELL YOU! They are totally in the wrong and I just really, REALLY hope you kick some ass in court. All the advice has been great as well, you know that at least some people can see that you are in the right. Take 'em for all they have!
Slaggis Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 Update: Went to Leeds today to see a solicitor, and he said he's gobsmacked they're even trying this. He says it's just so they can "make up numbers" and round off the case for statisics. He's writing a letter telling them to either arrest me, or drop the case. My parents have to write a letter to the local MP and the chief constable or something to tell them how outraged they are. I would laugh histerically if they even tried to arrest me, they haven't got a leg to stand on.

Pete Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Your doing the right thing 100% standing up the police and also getting legal advise, good luck and choice very well made IMO mate
dwarf Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I wouldn't pay the fine, I'd rip it out of the police and make it stonewall obvious that you have done nothing. 1 man evidence isn't enough, dont take that shit.
