Hello guys and girls.

Here's the deal. We've been around a long while now. 2008 is our tenth year, if you counting back far enough, and I'm kinda aching to get N-Europe the attention it deserves.

So.. we want to know your likes, dislikes and suggestions for the main site. What works, what doesn't, what we could add, and any general comments. Do you like the game countdowns? Has the music on the Xmas flash header driven you insane yet? We're also interested in you forumites who don't visit the main site. What would you want to see?

Let us know below..

Cheers :)

Is there a way to link comments on the news stories with out forum i.d's if you know what I mean, instead of having to have a separate account?

Also I don't think the features and the reviews stand out enough on the front page. I don't really notice if they change unless I pay attention where as on something like teamxbox right at the top of their page they have some nice big picture with the latest review or feature.

Basically I don't think the different things like news, features and reviews are defined enough and it all kind of seems like one big rolling splodge of info. (I mean that in the nicest way possible)

Content wise it is awesome.

Might be nice if the whole page was centred.

Also a mini list of the latest reviews would be cool. Maybe on the right hand side to balance out the links on the left.

And DEFINITELY a list of "hot topics" or whatever on the front page from the forums because at the moment the forums and the front page seem almost completely separate.

In short, I think the layout could be a lot better and some kind of clear link with the forums on the front page would be nice. Help inject some of our lovely community onto the main page.

Just some thoughts.......I'll shut up now...

Ps. The banner is effing awesome.

How about letting Aficionados write their own blogs?

Oh and the main site is great btw, I haven't had a problem with it ever. Keep up the good work.

More breakthrough interviews please. Those make the headlines almost everywhere.

In particular... We here in N-Europe have a modest but good RPG community, and not many websites are pulling on that with the studios they interview. I think asking for stuff is also a form of pressure and it shows the guys that there's market and interest, so... We should be going after all the weakpoints, getting some spotlight into that matter and hopefully bringing even more RPG junkies.

A while ago ee even talked about a petition for ToS Directors Cut on the Wii, that still isn't out of my head, if N-Europe could capitalize on that and even get direct responses from either Namco Europe, America or Japan (or all of them) it would be really ace, specially if they left the door open for it to happen.

Of course, this is only a example of a area I'm into; but could be applied to other genres... Like... Why not going after the Time Crisis 4 team, after they said a while ago that they wanted to make a point blank Wii? and why not pressure them on porting TC4 since it was originally a PS2-based game (or previous installments) and putting them in a corner if they said that the wiimote is not 1:1 as good as guncom 3 explaining that they only have to add a extra sensor bar as a option (linked through USB or something).

If, we could go to this point, of almost having talks, on top of suggestions with the developers... it would be ace.

The only reason I visit the main site is because of the amazingly convenient RSS Feed. Instead of just putting gaming news there though I'd like to see everything that is posted on the front page, reviews, editorials, site news, media, competitions, whatever!

I'd like to see things like this in the RSS Feed because I'd actually get to see them then!

I find the site to be a bit slow, too, on the news reporting. Speed is of the essence :D

That we're working on, I have a couple in the pipeline but some larger developers, metioning no names (Hudson and Square Enix) have disappeared up their own arses and feel they're too above us to even read emails. :)

Something thats bugged me for a while is the lack of thanks for people who post new news in the forums. Alot of the time news gets posted in the forums 1st then gets put on the mainsite.

What I would like to see is what GoNintendo do. For example if Dante got some news from Kotaku GoNintendo would put Kotaku as a source but also thank Dante for the heads up.

I know it sounds trivial but its people like Dante who keep the forums/website upto date with news and should be thanked accordingly. At the end of the day these people dont have to post news on here, they choose to.

This is an excellent point. Pretty much all news is passed on from somewhere, but the finder should at least gain partial credit. All news posting is doing is just rewording a PR article most of the time anyway, right?

Or not? Basically, I'm not sure what point I am trying to make but Hero-of-Time is right.

The main page in general i like, but, unlike if i hit up 1up or IGN or something i will go to the reviews/previews etc.

On the main page atm the reviews, in fact, the links in general down the left just seem too small to pay attention to, maybe placed wrong.

I know it's not easy, but I'm here for the results. :) Square-Enix is hard, of course, but Nippon Ichi, Atlus and ArtePiazza shouldn't be like that; or at least, they need more promotion, so it can be mutual, and a breakthrough for european releases.

Interviewing Rising Star Games, the Marvelous representatives, could also be interesting; while they aren't actively developing the games, I wonder if they have access to them before the actual japanese releases, start translations before-hand or if we could try to get confirmation for Oboro, or something

All this said, has anyone tried Kuju yet? they're england-based and since Battallion Wars is coming they must be willing to help promote it... I think.

Pedro makes some good points. I know that N-E isn't a professional site and I appreciate it for what it is, but the lack of original news leaves it behind other sites. Some interviews would be cool, I know there have been some Wiiware interviews and that recently so keep it up and expand on it.

Another point I'd add is that, could you try and get reviews up closer to when games are released? Again, I know this isn't IGN or whatever, but its nice to see the reviews when the games come out. :heh:

Aside from that, keep up the good work and congrats to tphi on becoming "owner" of N-Europe!

Atlus I tried in December and I got no response. There's an interview on the way from Telltale Games though (creators of CSI and Sam & Max). I haven't tried Rising Star, but I emailed Kuju last summer, and I have to go through Nintendo to get an interview about Battalion Wars (and Nintendo's PR wouldn't respond, which was nice...).

I'm busy at the moment but in a second I'll make a thread in Wii Discussion about what exclusive interviews you want to see, and you and the forumers can suggest some questions too.

I see. Telltale is nice though.

Sad, but somewhat expectable, you could settle for a middleterm though, they have a new Wiiware studio, sure, it's almost like a "small interview" again, but these people worked in Battalion, so you could get keen on the hardware (and with wiiware titles from kuju, they're third party.

How about getting rid of the blank space from the rightside of the main page and forums.

Also how about getting female staffs/admins for this site, girls play games as well you know.

What would you like them to do? Grow them?

I think we need more newsies. Well done on the interviews and more p/reviews, but I still think the news tends to fluctuate. Wish I had more time to help you out. :(

There's barely any females on the boards as it is, so it's harder to make them a staff member, and from looking on the staff boards we need one...make it 5 :heh:

And yea get rid of the greyness.
