Firefly

Love this show. The humour is great and the cast is perfect. Whoever recommended me this is a saint.

You're welcome. I have some random guy who works with my Step Dad to thank for introducing me to the show.

Battlestar Galactica

Season 1: A massive amount of development and plenty of different plots going on in each episode. Very interesting and ends on a great cliffhanger.

Season 2 Episodes 1 - 17: Carries on well from season one - its great to see a few episodes solving the problem the cliffhanger makes rather than having the usual way of having everything solved by the end of the first episode. Lots of great plot twists and lots of development, too. Although TBH the main goal of the series slows down a bit after the first 7 episodes. Still, the 3-episode long Pegasus introduction are three really great episodes.

Razor: I decided to watch this in it's proper position this time round (rather than the order in which they were released). It fits in nicely and it's great to learn more about the first Cylon war.

Season 2 Episodes 18 - 19: It delves into more about what the Cylons want and what they are doing, as well as their download process. The double-episode long finale is great too, as is the way they ended it.

Atom

I flipped over to Scrubs by the time they were theorising that atoms could be everywhere unless you looked at them, but did you know that the existence of antimatter was proved thanks to mayonnaise? No shit. Also, Robert Fineman was a bit of a pimp.

8/10

Following on from my Red Dwarf month, i shall start February off with

The Brittas Empire Series 1

Another sitcom starring Chris Barrie this time as a Leisure Centre manager that hardly anyone likes. First episode is mainly an introduction to the staff and their habits and the rest of the series is quite funny in places. It shall recieve a 8/10

Yeah, I'm not sure why The Brittas Empire is so underrated. I loved the shit out of it when I was a kid, and I re-watched it quite recently and even though it's not the sharpest sitcom out it's still perfectly watchable and well acted, much better than a lot of the crap the BBC is spitting out these days.

I think it's because I'm British.

You do the maths.

Oh, fuck no... it's supposed to be an international masterpiece... that being said, I love lots of brit humour... but OFAH... I just don't get it. I mean... WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL? I can understand the hype about Blackadder, or the Vicar, or A & Son, or Fawlty Towers and so on... but OFAH... I don't get it.

Battlestar Galactica Season 3

Another awesome series. Once again it takes a while for the show to solve the cliffhanger and there's plenty more twists. Especially at the end of the last episodes. And it ends with awesome music.

Roll on Season 4! (Well...the first half of season 4. It's annoying that we have to wait until autumn or 2009 for the second half).

I don't think Heroes is a cliché. The premise is clichéd yes, we've seen it in X-Men before, but they don't try to cover it up, I mean, the co-executive producer writes for X-Men, Stan Lee makes a cameo appearence, they talk about comics all the time. But despite this, the way the characters are developed and the way the story branches out is very well done and original (not revolutionary, mind)

It's a cliché in the big sense... like, there's more good characters than bad (yeah right, how realistic is that?), almost all the characters are severe cases of "been there done that" (in terms of personality, mind... I like the nods to Xmen. Like Takeo being exactly like Wolverine, minus the adamantium), and the overall plot is pretty much the same we've come to grow accostumed to from superhero shows. Do take into consideration that I'm in no way suggesting that cliché=bad, as I find it to be a pretty darn nice series. A bit overrated, yes, but great nonetheless.

Plus, Sylar, Elle, Noah & The Haitian are a fucking breath of fresh air comparing to the usual hero character. These guys actually bring something new into the game. =D

It's a shame that Hiro, Peter and all the main ones are so darn "old".

Alrighty, just finished watching Veronica Mars season 1 in a couple of days. It strikes a point somewhere between smallville, dexter and buffy as a teen drama series about a girl with kick-ass detective skills.

I was going to go into this 'deeply', but I just wrote an incoherant web of tangled focus, so instead I'll say; I liked it. Some characters underused, some episodes too twisty. But the dialogue throughout is very morish, and after all it's just the first season so it's to be expected that you'll get a 45 minute episode relating entirely to individuals who will appear in about 6 minutes combined for the rest of teh season, whenever veronica needs aid. What happened to that foreign lady from teh PD in the first episodes?

I never watched Harriett the Spy, but Veronica Mars is how I'd imagine Harriett would be for noir-afflicted teenagers. The season finale was fairly entertaining, if not a little odd to see Veronica so unsure of what's what. Of course, there are (at least?) two strings left to be tied up, so of course I need to get onto the next season - which I'm sure will have a more progressive arcing nature.

8/10. I might not have made it sound great or anything, but it is above average, smart and witty.

Man I'm fucking tired.

Inga is recurring, she pops up now and then.

You have to watch next season. Charisma Carpenter in a bikini! Worth it alone.

Carrying on from where i left off.

The Brittas Empire Series 2

The second series of the underrated sitcom starring Chris Barrie. The start of the series sees Brittas apparantly dead after a conference, but later revealed that he his not. Another great episode comes with the area inspector visiting and it turns out he acts the same way Brittas does. 8/10 for this series

The Brittas Empire Series 3

The third series in this sit-com, this time it starts with Brittas in court for apparantly murdering, drug handling and handling stolen cash. Later on in the series Brittas's brother comes into play of which they share the same dream as each other and are both as annoying as each other. 8.5/10 once again.

The Brittas Empire Series 4

4th series, this time Romans attack the Leasure Centre, Brittas gets sacked from the Centre amongst other things. One of the best episodes from this series is the last one which sees Brittas re-visit the centre and cause a gas leak which ignites with the present which he bought the staff, and also saves stranded staff and public who escape via the basement. 9/10

Shall review series 5 later on today, once i have finished watching it.
