Haha. I've been waiting for you to finish it. Mind blowing, ain't it?

One thing I do like about inFamous 2's story in relation to the first is that

They actually preserve the ending spoiler from inFamous 1. So if you played 2 then 1, it would still be a surprise.

I'm still trying to take it all in, it's pretty much all I thought about while at work today... :p well that and wanting to start inFamous 2 which I'm about to do now.

As for the DLC... from what I can gather, the skins/weapons are non essential but I'm guessing the extra powers are? I'm assuming that these are powers which don't appear in the game otherwise, I don't mind paying for them being that I got the games cheap and subsequently feel kind of guilty as I really want to support Sucker Punch being that they make such amazing games, but yes I just wondering how much the dlc powers add to inFamous 2 really. :)

Will also be on the lookup for the DLC mission for inFamous Second Son entitled 'Cole's Legacy' which is currently only available in the special edition - so annoying! - will probably end up buying the code off eBay if it pops up for a reasonable price, I mean surely they will release it generally on PSN too/afterwards despite what they say about it being limited edition, it just makes no sense otherwise as this seems to be a mission which tied together all of the games which seems quite integral to me. :hmm:

Oh well, on to inFamous 2! My order for Second Son has been processed so I have until Thursday to finish it, game on! :D

The twist in Infamous is my favourite since the one in KOTOR (and I actually think it's better than that one). Didn't see it coming and I loved it.

While I think Infamous had a better story, Infamous 2 plays and is paced much better.

I would definitely agree with you there, I've been playing it for most of the day and it's just so good! :hehe:

Something about it, even though I'm aiming to finish the game pretty quickly I'm still really enjoying it so even if I wasn't playing against the clock I'm pretty sure I'd be going at the same speed because I just really want to play it; going to keep playing until I pass out tonight from inFamous overdose, that's the plan anyway. :heh:

This game alone was worth buying a new PS3 for, just nothing but praise for it basically.

And my quest is complete!

:)

I've literally just finished inFamous 2...

...what an ending, I really like that the series doesn't shy away from making tough decisions because they make the games all the better for it; just brilliant, enjoyed the slight twist toward the end but I've nothing else to say apart from I've enjoyed every minute of it. :D

inFamous Festival of Blood can wait seeing as I've discovered that it's not technically considered 'cannon' so I'll leave that to enjoy another day as I'm sure it's still very much worth playing but for now...

...my body is ready for inFamous Second Son! : peace:

Might possibly go for Dishonored if it's generally considered better than Thief.

I decided to tackle inFamous Festival of Blood today, started at around 10am and I've just nabbed the last trophy, not bad for a days work. :D

Really enjoyable, definitely worth playing and above all it's just a lot of fun. : peace:

Will be interesting to see what DLC route Sucker Punch decides to take with Second Son.

Umm, Dishonored is amazing, and I don't know why you'd even want to cast it in the same light as Thief. They're not really the same kind of game at all, just similar visually. Definitely pick that one up!

On the other hand £7.99 isn't that great a price, it was £3.49 on Steam not long ago and the GOTY edition has been sub £8 on there before.

Posted

I'm tempted by dishonoured too! Hmmm.... Is the game of the year version worth buying out of the two? Though surely this is exactly the type of game that'll be on plus soon.

Tbf, they're both First Person, swoopy stealth games with the option of action and featuring a bow. Ok in gameplay terms the similarities may end there, but I wouldn't really be that bothered about playing both of them, at least not within a long time of one another.

It would be £7.20, and £10 for the GOTY with Plus, but you're right I do remember seeing them on there before now. Still, a decent price.

I'm also tempted by FEZ though this week! :)

Ahhh and Red Dead is now in the Rockstar sale for £7.99!

.... oh this is ridiculous! :p

I already have a backlog of Plus games to work through and many games on my wish list to buy! Too many games!! I need to be strict with those I can probably do without.

The biggest difference? Dishonored for PC has 91 on Metacritic :heh: Dishonored has powers, like teleportation, possession. You have a crossbow not a bow, as well as guns and a sword. You pick up interesting backstory items all the time, level yourself up. It's more like a stealthy Bioshock than Thief.

I've just finished Infamous 2, not sure whether I'll go back though it being evil. I really was expecting a lot more from this title. I think I'd convinced myself it was a really top-tier game without actually investigating its general reception. It was a very muddled title with some awful mission restrictions and combat mechanics. Frequently you could climb a building and find yourself face to face with three mobs who would instantly smack you with a rocket launcher at point blank range.

But the worst moment had to be when I accidentally threw a mission item too far, went to get it, retrieved it (to a warning "return to the mission zone"), and then couldn't get back to the mission zone in time. Why use a timer to limit a player from leaving a zone, if it's actually impossible to return within that time?!

They had a similar issue with scripted attacks where you had to mash a button to get out. No matter how hard you mashed that button, you would always take at least x damage. So if your health was < x, you could mash all you want but you'd still die.

The powers were still a lot of fun, but there wasn't a lot of upgrading or changing to be done, not like in say... Prototype.

Really surprised by this game since I remember hearing a lot of the hype when it came out, expected a lot more, and actually find myself even less interested in PS4 as a result of playing this.

I seem to get to this point every few months but with a break in most big game releases now until September I'm once again tempted to buy another PS3 so I can go back to all those PS+ titles I have along with getting myself some of the remaining PS3 titles I missed after my console died.

Posted

Im gutted that i'll never get the chance to play on Tales of Symphonia HD. Loved it on the GameCube. Sadly, cannot justify another console to just get that game :(

Posted

Well I ended up getting a PS3 with a broken blu ray drive off eBay for £22 and seeing as I only need it for digital games, I'm pretty happy. Looking forward to playing a load of my PS+ games now!

It still shocks me how expensive they are brand new. They never did reach the sweet spot of £100. My poor mate was saving for a PS4 but his PS3 died and he had to use his money he'd been saving on a replacement. It cost him £160+ for him to buy a new model.

Yeah I originally thought I might just get a new one but there was no way I was paying full price. Its a shame they have only gone cheaper with a 12gb model. You would think with the amount of games people might have on PS+ for it now they would release a digital only PS3 without the disc drive so you could play that collection.
