So nobody said who the nominees for the oscars are??? Weird.

Here they are.

I was about to when the Heath thread was posted.

No keira for best actress, the 13 year old instead, which is a bit of a surprise.

Also Juno for best film? Awesome, though I've not actually seen it. :heh:

The only Best Motion Picture of the Year Nominee I've even heard of is "No Country for Old Men", but I haven't even seen that.

And Cloverfield is awesome.

Saoirse Ronan ("the 13 year old") is nominated for Best Supporting Actress, not Best Actress.

She's from only down the road from me - about an hour away.

Knowing hollywood they'll rush it forward to cash in on his death. I know that sounds utterly pessamistic, but knowing hollywood it's bound to happen.

It's Christopher Nolan, I think it'll be ok.

Oh, and as for what happens to the movie... well... nothing, I guess, he already finished shooting it.

My guess is he'll receive next year's honorary award in the oscars.

You haven't heard of Juno, There Will Be Blood and Atonement? I mean, Michael Clayton, I can relate to... but the others I just don't understand.

Cloverfield is from 2008 though... I guess we'll be seeing it at the awards next year for best FX or something.

Hey, the 13 year old is fantastic in the movie!!! I loved her. And Keira wasn't all that good. She was good, just not that good.

No, no, I mean it's a suprise the acadamy didn't nominate her, I'm not saying it's a bad thing.

Hmm, hopefully, it would be good if he got a special thing this year, seeing as by next year some old actor will have probably died (that sounds a little heartless, but I couldn't think of any other way to put it) and they'll get the award.

That's why I'm the Don. But the family teaches and helps the growth of others.

Arrg... it was supposed to be a joke! Look at his avatar!!! That's Sonny Corleone! :D He was a bad Don. :heh:

I don't think there's a rule against nominating a dead person for an oscar. He can still make it to Best Actor... His role as the Joker seems ever so promising.

ALSO, speaking of Batman... am I the only one who feels that the vehicles are a little over the top? I mean, they're awesome, but too big and over the top. Not elegant and they're also impractical. That motorcycle must be impossible to steer with tires that large.

Bond 22 =

Well at least it's Catchy! :indeed:

Pretty aweful to be honest!

Forgetable, Doesn't read well, Not the easiest to say... pretty much everything you'd want from a title!

Also I hope they aren't now creating names that will fit the 007 logo in them, and therefore are rubbish!

I like the fact they've included the 007 logo in the titles again, and used the same font as Casino Royale.

Nice title, but I'm sure a few people won't like it as it doesn't sound Bond-like, but I like it. Thank God the Internet wasn't around in the 80's when Octopussy was announced!

Toy Story 3 Dated.

Disney has revealed the release date for Toy Story 3.

The animated sequel will be released in cinemas on June 18, 2010 and will be shown in Disney Digital 3-D, reports Rotten Tomatoes.

Toy Story and Toy Story 2 will be re-released in 3-D as part of the build-up for the third movie.

Walt Disney chairman Dick Cook said: "We are committed to bringing moviegoers the best and most exciting 3-D movie experience, and we think they're going to love seeing Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and all the wonderful Toy Story cast of characters in an eye-popping and dazzling way."

Animator John Lasseter added: "I am sure that this is going to be nothing short of fantastic and people are going to be blown away by the experience.

"With Toy Story 3 shaping up to be another great adventure for Buzz, Woody and the gang from Andy's room, we thought it would be great to let audiences experience the first two films all over again and in a brand new way."

Lee Unkrich, who worked on Toy Story 2, Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc, has been named as the director of the third movie."

Well apparently the stress of the movie was a factor in his overdose (or so the gossip rags claim) so they have to tred nicely.

Well,it's now widely believed/accepted that because of the amount of different things he was taking to help him sleep (due to, as you say the movie - the character he was playing) it was completely accidental.

Anyhoo - other news - Rambo reviews are so far a little, average.

IGN reviewed the new Rambo movie and gave it 3.5/5. They claimed it was the best since the original...so kinda like Rocky Balboa then :)

Can't wait to see it!

The Box-Office Top Five (25th to 27th)

#1 "Meet the Spartans" ($18.7 million)

#2 "Rambo" ($18.5 million)

#3 "27 Dresses" ($13.6 million)

#4 "Cloverfield" ($12.7 million)

#5 "Untraceable" ($11.2 million)

It was a sequel 20 years in the making, but "Rambo" couldn't live up to the hype as "Meet the Spartans" drew "First Blood" at the box office, taking in $18.7 million to win the weekend. After last year's "Epic Movie," the "300" parody is the second consecutive spoof flick from the writing and directing team of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer to come in at #1. And the best part? It's just in time for Oscar season!

"Rambo" was just a tick behind with $18.5 million in its first week. But while Sylvester Stallone was counting dollars and cents for the franchise's first installment since 1988, we were counting words and deaths. As in, which were there more of in "Rambo"? My money's on deaths.

Speaking of deaths (this is why I'm a writer, people — smooth transitions), "Cloverfield" dropped like the Statue of Liberty's head, falling 68.3 percent in its second weekend to come in fourth place with just $12.7 million. It's the biggest second-week drop in history for a movie that made over $20 million in its first week, and just a shade off the biggest second-week drop for any movie. Sorry J.J. — the secret's out: If "Cloverfield" ends its run short of a $100 million haul, it'll be the movie with the biggest-ever debut to do so. Monstrous indeed.

Proving there's nothing quite like counterprogramming, "27 Dresses" continued to impress in its second weekend, earning $13.6 million for a third-place finish. "Untraceable," the weekend's other big new release came in fifth place with $11.2 million.

The little indie that could suddenly became the little blockbuster that could as "Juno" crossed the magical $100 million mark on the heels of several Oscar nominations. "Alvin and the Chipmunks," meanwhile, crossed $200 million in its seventh week. Bring on the Chipettes.

Wow at cloverfields massive drop! (I'll be seeing it this weekend, woo) Also, how incredibly stupid is the american movie viewing public? The next movie in the shitty Date Movie/Epic Movie series comes in at number one?

Well, what more would you expect from this moronic society we live in these days?

I think the name is the name of a short story that was actually written by the man himelf, Ian Fleming. The title was his own, not one made to fit with the letters!

Also, it is said to be darker than other bonds which fits in with the new style well. Oh, and it fits in the story line after tomorrow never dies too.

Been doin' ma research

Cloverfield best blow my socks off when I got to see it. I'm getting bored of NYC getting destroyed recently. It's a shame theres no room for anything slightly original in Hollywood. I want something fresh!
