Cube Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I've been hearing of people complaining that the pavements are not gritted either. To be honest, in Germany where i used to live there is a law that states that the people must clear paths to the house and the pavement outside the house as well (once the snow stops btw). I believe the UK should bring this law in as well. While it can be a pain at times, there isn't much wrong with walking on non-gritted pavements. Especially when there's a fresh layer of snow to apply ample friction. Still, I would have thought that the train companies would clear the platforms a bit. Still, at least the trains are on time. Actually, it seems to be a better service than usual.

It's hilarious.
Eenuh Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Ughhh stress! Have to teach a class tomorrow but I really don't feel I can do it, or that I'll even have enough time to see everything I want to see. Plus I'll be graded on this. D: And I just managed to pretty much kill the example lino I would be using in class, so fuuuuck. >.<; *panics* In better news, one of my old friends gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday. Yay. Not too fond of the name though: Jade. Not sure whether I should pronounce it the English or the Dutch way...
Raining_again Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 What's all this about snow, there's next to none here. Rubbish.
weeyellowbloke Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Often it's night and there's no moon too :P DENSEFACE Really? No Way, I'm sure I've always found the moon when I've looked for it. And don't mock my denseface, it's not my fault I was born like this. Well I went to work today, which was still open despite half the staff not making it in. Looks like customers didn't make it in either as the place was completely dead. So I got to go home an hour early, woop! Not sure if we'll bother opening tomorrow. Also I made a small snow rabbit and sat in an igloo during lunch.
ReZourceman Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Does anyone know how this FB status bra colour thing started? I don't understand how its spread so quickly?
Goafer Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Does anyone know how this FB status bra colour thing started? I don't understand how its spread so quickly? No idea, but when I saw loads of people seemingly putting random colours on their status, the first thing I thought was "I bet it's underwear colour or something".
ReZourceman Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 No idea, but when I saw loads of people seemingly putting random colours on their status, the first thing I thought was "I bet it's underwear colour or something". Fortunately I happened to see someones status explaining it before I saw any actual colour updates. I say fortunately because I have a tendency to "like" a lot of status, and I saw for example Claires sisters status had it, and my sisters friends from school. Would have looked a bit creepy. Well moreso than usual.
Paj! Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I had no idea what it was. (until you just explained it) Seems pointless.
ReZourceman Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I had no idea what it was. (until you just explained it) Seems pointless. Mega pointless. I'm preferring this status (if you can see it) Warning, Dwarf sex/stuff
Wesley Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Isn't it to do with breast cancer awareness? How about these people donate a quid instead of being lame?
Ellmeister Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Can't believe I not only read something Wesley wrote, but actually agreed. I was confused, especially since some guys wrote as well.
Wesley Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I'm always full of insightful thoughts and interesting information; just masked with stupidity. Today is a programming day!
nightwolf Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 It would help, I used to give up way too much money to breast cancer awareness. Then I got sick of it and donated to the charity that was visably helping my mum before she passed away. Meh Today is abit weird, I suddenly feel about 16 been left to look after the house..
Wesley Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 You're going to raid the cupboards and then throw a party?
jayseven Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Head is shattered today. I'm supposed to sort the house out before the weekend party... but GROAN to that, I say! I think I'll order take-out tonight.
Ten10 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Snow is melting. Looks like I'm back in the office tomorrow. It was fun while it lasted.
Cube Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) I doubt the snow/ice will melt around Manchester. It's currently -11 over here. Luckily my desk is right next to the radiator. Edited January 7, 2010 by Cube
Ten10 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Current temp is minus 3, Sunny with moderately blue skies. Its quite depressing seeing the snow fall off rooftops and water trickling down the gutters.
nightwolf Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Its just below here apprently, just went out in it, even with the sun its freezing.
Paj! Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 It wasn't cold at all this morning (around 11) when I took the dog for a walk. Well, he was shivering, but he's small and unused to it. It snowed last night/afternoon too.
Eenuh Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I'm knackered! Didn't sleep too well last night as I was nervous for today. Had to teach my first class, though had to teach it to my fellow students and teacher. Had to teach them how to make a lino in colour by using a puzzle technique heh. I was bloody nervous, but in the end it didn't go too bad. Girl cut her finger though, ouch. Had to take care of that. But most of the lesson went okay. Got told I'm a bit too "motherly and caring" haha. And that I need more confidence in myself. I know all this stuff but it's hard to change yourself heh. =P Anyway, I think it's time for a naaaap! Whooo. Need one. X3
jayseven Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Got my dad's presents in the post - three DVDs he picked up in thailand -- Bangkok dangerous, Shadowless Sword and Skin Walkers - all three look like utter fun tripe! Shame the BD is the remake with Cage in too, but they should be fun to watch.
