  1. Feels like a bit of an empty gesture to rebrand your Halo Factory studio from a name based on Halo to... a name... also based on Halo. Also, UE5 is a terrible engine that is far too heavy for what it offers. It runs like a dog's dinner on every piece of hardware out there and the #StutterStruggle is real on PC. They'd honestly be better off sticking with UE4; or better yet, maybe actually taking advantage of their Bethesda acquisition and using ID Tech instead?
  2. Hey @Glen-i, guess what? You missed another one, you numbskull! Presenting… SPIKY EARED PICHU!! This fine specimen of feminism here Spiky Eared Pichu just so happens to be 100% guaranteed to be female and also happens to be a playable character in a Pokemon fighting game you’ve never heard of… Pokémon Battrio! Technically correct, the best kind of correct This is a Japanese arcade exclusive game that is focused exclusively on Pokemon battling, much like the fan-made Pokemon Showdown; only that it uses NFC chips to select your fighter. And wouldn’t you know it? Spiky Eared Pichu just so happens to be a playable character in that game! Lucky you Glen! Oh, BTW. Just an added little bit of trivia for you. Spiky Eared Pichu is the one and only Pokemon who has never been given an official 3D model… except for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Just as an extra kick in the teeth
  3. Madworld, LA Noire, Bioshock, Braid and Gears of War 1 & 2 all fall into this category for me. I enjoyed them enough the first time around, but I have zero desire to ever play them again. Not that they were bad or anything, I enjoyed them enough the first time around, but they distinctly feel like One-And-Done games to me.
  4. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-10-04/tencent-guillemot-family-are-said-to-consider-buyout-of-ubisoft?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialflow-organic&utm_source=twitter&cmpid=socialflow-twitter-business&utm_content=business The Tencent vultures are circling the Ubisoft corpse...
  5. https://www.gamesindustry.biz/mario-rabbids-and-red-dead-redemption-creators-form-new-studio-day-4-night And there it is. They escaped the sinking Ubisoft ship! Seems like half of the rumour I heard has now come true. Now. NOE internal game development studio when?
  6. General good tip is to try and follow what the game is trying to give you, instead of trying to force a specific hand. If the game is trying to give you two pair upgrades and Jokers that get boosted with two pairs? Then stick with two pairs. Generally in most cases, you will want to stick with one particular type of hand for most of your run. Flushes tend to be fairly reliable, but if the game is refusing to give you Jupiter cards; or Jokers that synergise with Flushes? Then there’s no point in trying to force it, just abandon the Flushes and stick with what particular hand each run is nudging you towards. That being said though? If you ever manage to see Blueprint or Brainstorm? Then do whatever it takes to make sure that you get them. They’re probably the single most powerful Jokers in the entire game.
  7. Honestly? I do think that it’s gonna happen; and it’ll most likely be within that launch window. F-Zero (much like Starfox) is a franchise that Nintendo use to showcase new 3D technology. It’s the perfect “tech demo” game for shiny new hardware, and it’s the perfect game to demonstrate why people should move from Nintendo Switch to the Nintendo Swop.
  8. It's also the 20 year anniversary of the F-Zero Falcon Densetsu Anime's final episode... the anime that these two games were direct tie-ins with.
  9. Oh snap! They do have a portion of the museum dedicated to hardware prototypes!!! Including the Revolution "Star" controller and the only officially existing Sky Skipper arcade cabinet (the one that was previously being kept at NOA). All of a sudden I am now much more interested in going!
  10. OMG!! BS F-Zero Satellaview tracks!!! The first time that Nintendo have ever acknowledged that game’s existence after its initial Satellaview broadcast!
  11. F-Zero Climax gets its first ever international release!!
  12. I reckon the discourse is right… That’s not Yoko Shimamura doing the soundtrack. It sounds nothing like her usual work. Making this the first Mario & Luigi game to not have her as main composer. Why abandon the series now all of a sudden? She came back for the SMRPG Remake, but not M&L Brothership? Very strange…
  13. Really glad to see Disaster DOC get a shoutout here too. The oft forgotten Monolith Soft game, and arguably one of their best!
  14. Doesn’t surprise me that Yuji Horii would be insulated from the calls for less sexualised character designs and more gender ambiguous language used for character creation. He’s a 70 year old Japanese man; he comes from an entirely different generation of social norms, of course he’s gonna be out of touch with current social proprietary. That’s the whole reason why you have foreign localisation departments to ensure that your product falls in line with current worldwide social norms. Quite frankly, the localisation departments are doing their jobs and are doing them well.
  15. Real shame that we never got 64 Wars or Fire Emblem 64. There was a clear demand for strategy games on the N64, which already had some heavy hitters like StarCraft, Command & Conquer and Ogre Battle 64 under its belt. Ironic how the GameCube (a platform far better suited to the genre) basically got nothing outside of Fire Emblem POR.
  16. Am I gonna have to break out the Boo This Man gif again!? Ahh sod it...
  17. Just finished Case 3… fucking hell! What an absolute bombshell of a case! SO damn good! This game is 100% pure dynamite so far. Might well be amongst the very best games in the entire series; absolutely trading blows with Trials & Tribulations at this point! I can’t believe that this game actually manages to live up to the 13 year long hype! It makes GAA look like utter cack in comparison! Just absolutely A-grade stuff all throughout! This game is so good that it actually retroactively makes Dual Destinies better… being this game’s direct follow up. I suddenly have a newfound respect for DD and how its own localisation skirted around how AAI 2 never came out in English originally. If things are going where I think they’re going, it suddenly explains a LOT about DD’s direction…
  18. Odd choice of license, but… neat!
  19. https://www.gamedeveloper.com/production/remedy-enters-into-15-million-loan-agreement-with-tencent Remedy selling more and more of themselves to the Tencent devil… … I fear that they won’t be long for this world…
  20. Wow! That game sounds really cool! Cant help but feel that the N64 was the wrong platform for that kind of game, what with it using an expensive and low capacity cartridge format (it would’ve been a much more natural fit for the PS1 or Saturn), but the concept seems really cool! Love these kinds of text adventure games with abstract stories/ending paths
  21. Agreed. It’s baffling that we have a Toy Link Amiibo but no Toy Zelda one; especially when EOW actually does have Amiibo support!
  22. From watching @Glen-i playing this game for a bit? Yeah, game looks fantastic. Looks like... an honest to goodness Zelda game! Unfortunately it runs like crap, constantly dropping to 30FPS, it's actually a lot worse than Links Awakening Switch... Sadly this'll have to be another game I wait until Switch 2 before I can really fully enjoy it.
  23. Looks like SNK are returning Capcom's favour, as Ken & Chun Li will be playable in COTW! At this point, just make a new Capcom Vs SNK already!
  24. Good luck sneaking that Wii Remote through customs. They're gonna charge you more than your entire trip cost for that one!
  25. Looks perfect. If only the Pokemon games could get this same kind of treatment...
