  1. Wow! Road Rage came out that early in the system's life!? I remember it coming out much later! Wow! Animal Crossing came out that early in the system's life? I remember it coming out much lat... oh... right... Europe localisation... Yeah, that was a rough wait!
  2. France seems to be following suit too... https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2025/04/major-french-retailer-says-switch-2-pre-orders-at-historic-level RIP Japan. And RIP France.
  3. Dogs + Wires = A Bad Time. And while Wavebirds are a godsend, they do lack rumble, as well as a Home/Capture/C button; and they're not rechargable. Plus these work in handheld mode without any sort of 3rd party adapter needed too!
  4. I had to literally fish my LRG email out of my spam folder lol
  5. If you don’t get the console, they will probably soon end up working with OG GameCube/Wii hardware when 8bitdo’s wireless GameCube Retro Receiver inevitably gets an update to support them. Actually… come to think of it… they should also work on Wii U and Switch 1 via the GCN Controller adapter too!
  6. @Ugh first aid just grabbed me another two. Now I have a full set of four on the way! Thanks for the heads up @Hero-of-Time and @Julius, you guys rock!
  7. In many respects, Sacred Stones is both the first “modern” Fire Emblem and also a quasi callback to Gaiden/Shadows of Valentia. I can totally see why it would appeal to modern casual fans more than FE7, what with its world map; branching classes and such. I prefer FE7 overall, but I do really like Sacred Stones as well.
  8. Just got an email from Limited Run saying that my order has shipped. It's happening?
  9. LMAO! The connection runs deep!
  10. Defo! Easily one of the best launches ever. I actually ended up buying 6 games with it on launch day (Luigi’s Mansion, Wave Race Blue Storm, Super Monkey Ball, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Rogue Leader and SSBM) and I still only scratched the surface of what it had to offer! Just such a shame it came out too late to really combat the PS2 (or even the Xbox here in Europe). The console wars of the 6th Gen were already decided before the thing even launched really. Especially when you had the likes of GTA 3, FF10 and MGS2 coming out at the same time as the Cube.
  11. Come to think of it... you're right. This is the first time we've ever had a new console launch without a 1st party game without some sort of significant single player mode available on Day 1. DK Bananza would be it, but that's not coming out until the month after launch day.
  12. Thanks a lot. You just made me sad
  13. I wonder if Extreme G2 & 3 will come to NSO… we got the first one, so maybe? Never did play any of the sequels, but the first game is alright enough. I’d play them if they came to NSO.
  14. Great. You’re gonna get me messing around with blutac to see if this works now. If I break my expensive new console, I’m blaming you I mean, Switch 1 wasn’t exactly bursting with original titles on Day 1 either; hell it was living off of Wii U ports and Wii U Ports Disguised As Sequels for more or less the first two years of its life
  15. Slight spoilers for Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, but it actually tells you how physical Switch 1 BC works on Switch 2… There’s an indent on the Red Cards. This is done in order to have the Switch 1 cards press down on a button inside the Switch 2 cartridge slot to tell the console something along the lines of “This is a Switch 1 cartridge, down clock and undervolt the cartridge slot, then boot up this game in the hardware interpretation mode”. If this mechanism sounds familiar, it should; because this is how GB/C backwards compatibility worked on the GBA. They’re using the same mechanism again… Lateral Thinking With Withered Technology baby!
  16. Marvellous news! There. Was that so hard Nintendo? Honestly, I don’t understand why they had such difficulty explaining this, they’re already doing these Switch 2 Editions in the best way possible. Why bother trying to hide this info!? If you’ve got a physical Switch 1 collection, it’s time to start selling them and upgrading
  17. Crazy just how much of a jump this game was from the N64 game in more or less every respect. Even crazier that they managed to pull off a game of this scope and magnitude in just 13 months of development. The crunch to end all crunch! It was so bad that it caused Sakurai to step away from day-to-day development entirely... until he had to step in at the last minute and rescue Kirby Air Ride from development hell before he left HAL to go freelance. While I do think the game is overrated in context of the wider series, it's hard to overstate what an accomplishment this game was for the time it launched. It's no wonder why it ended up being the single best selling game for the console throughout its entire lifetime, it was the full package more or less right there at the console's launch!
  18. Some footage of the Switch 2 version... Honestly, not bad at all. Much better than how it runs on Steam Deck in any case... Worth keeping in mind that we're talking about a game that has to run between 720p-1080p on PS5/Series X to hit 50-60 FPS (and 720p-1080p at 25-30 FPS on Series S). Certainly amongst the absolute heaviest multiplatform games currently available on PS5/Series X/PC, so this really is a worst-case-scenario as far as 3rd party ports to Switch 2 go.
  19. Coming out only two weeks after the PS2 version in the US is a big improvement over what we saw on the N64, but this of course was not the same in Europe, where the game was much older by the time the console came out. Unavoidable, but also quite unfortunate. Thankfully this is a really solid version of the game, featuring all of the content of the PS2 original, coupled with improved performance and better loading times. So it was quite the statement of intent from both Activision and Neversoft coming off the N64, which always saw very late and highly compromised ports. Though the Xbox version (which came out later) has the best performance, as well as an additional level (The Oil Rig) and an additional character (X-ray); it doesn’t take away the sheen that THPS3 would’ve had at the GCN’s launch. As for the game itself? This is the last of the classic THPS gameplay format, with smaller stages designed around the 2 min lime limit. The Revert is a true game changer, to the point that the lack of this mechanic can make it rough to go back to THPS2 (let alone the OG). It was so groundbreaking that the remake of THPS1 & 2 actually went out of its way to implement the Revert, despite never appearing in either game. The level design is once again superb, and even more dynamic than before, with moving cars, obstacles and pedestrians. It’s very much the apex of the classic format and one last hurrah, before Neversoft began moving more towards an open world format with future titles.
  20. Dot, dot, dot... So... looks like the base game will have a minimum of 156 character variants that are unlockable. That's... kind of nuts! And there could even potentially be more unlockable ones than this, this is just the minimum! The DLC for this game is gonna be scary lol!
  21. https://www.nintendo.com/us/whatsnew/mario-kart-world-direct-revs-up-new-details-on-the-biggest-mario-kart-ever-coming-to-nintendo-switch-2-at-launch/ Is that... is that... the return of a proper Elimination Battle Mode!?!? For the first time since Mario Kart DS!?!?! PRAISE BE TO THE BALLOONS!! 22 Bomb Buggies is gonna be sick!
  22. Who's that weirdo on the left!? He looks nothing like DKJR!
  23. Kart & Wario Wasn't expecting a bloody Game & Wario reference of all things!
  24. Yup. I was right. 4 player splitscreen is limited to 30FPS again, just like in MK8 and MK Wii. That's upsetting. I'd gladly take a resolution downgrade in 4 player mode if it meant that it ran at 60FPS; like, come on! Double Dash did 60FPS 4 player splitscreen on the bloody GameCube! You have more than enough hardware power to make it happen! Sigh... guess we'll have to stick with local wireless again. Still, 16 player local wireless (via 2 player splitscreen) is nice. It's not the full 24 players, but we know that the game supports 24 player wired LAN (Since we've already played it at the Switch 2 Showcase event); so the option is there if ever you managed to scrounge up enough players and Switch 2s Mission Mode was not on my bingo card though! That's gonna make Free Roam a lot more interesting! Likewise, very happy to see that they're not scrimping on the Battle Mode this time around; and that we're getting proper Battle Courses in the base game this time around. Shame about the lack of Bobomb Blast, but I'd imagine that'll be something they'll potentially add in DLC later on. The most important thing is that we have proper Battle Courses!
  25. They've been doing that all generation. The US is the only region where they haven't been upping the price of the console since launch, and the only region that has maintained its initial launch price. They are deathly afraid of increasing the US price, and are happy to rip off the rest of the world instead; probably because it's the only region where Xbox puts up some semblance of competition.
