  1. Absolutely crazy, well done to Sony! Goes to show the sheer power of competitive pricing and value ladled bundles in the UK.
  2. Persona Q is the best selling Persona spinoff in the series (267.172) easily outselling P4 Arena (191.748) and P4 Dancing All Night (124.334). At this point, Vita is deader than a squashed rodent after it has had a grenade chucked at it. There is no way on Metatron's earth that Catherine would sell more on Vita than Switch. No chance in hell. This move is about as baffling as making another EO game for 3DS instead of Switch... Oh wait...
  3. What? again?
  4. You know what? Sod it, I don't care if it counts as port begging. Why the hell is this coming to Vita and not Switch!? It makes absolutely no sense!
  5. Same! Quite the surprise (though I suppose, with the localisation already done, there's no real reason why we should be getting it after Japan in any case).
  6. That's really bizarre! Do your other disc based games work? Sounds like the Wii U's having trouble reading the disc... If your other games work fine, you could try cleaning the disc; if that doesn't work, then I'm not sure what to suggest other than to get another copy.
  7. Unquestionably Shovel Knight. It might just well be the best £17.99 you’ve ever spent! (The base game alone is well worth the asking price, the fact that you get 3 additional spinoff games along with it just makes it a steal!)
  8. And one very expensive one too! What on dirt happened to the Plague Knight, Spectre Knight and King Knight Amiibo anyway? Are they waiting to release them at the same time as King of Cards? (I'm sure that's probably the right answer )
  9. He got ya good @Glen-i; sorry, but I can't bail you out of this one
  10. At least they're honest about it. I reckon there's a good chance of it happening at some point though. The series does have a history with Nintendo and UE4 runs just fine on Switch.
  11. That's nice, but I'd much rather have a port of the original Pacman CE (Non-DX, the one that Toru Iwatani himself designed). I'm not really a fan of the More-is-More approach they've taken with all the Pacman CE sequels. It's still a good game, just nowhere near as superbly designed as the much simpler original Pacman CE.
  12. This film was kind of all over the place really. It has some cool ideas, some good characters and scenes, but man, it could really have done with some editing and cuts. First of all, I have to give it props for actually (mostly) being a new film this time. Unlike Ep7, this is not a thinly veiled remake of ANH with bits of Empire thrown in (more on that in the spoilers...). Secondly, the cinematography does veer closer to actual Star Wars than EP7 ever did, which felt much more like Nu Trek. It's still not quite there (and some scenes are just flat out, not Star Wars at all in terms of cinematography style), but it's much closer now (one scene in particular really nails the look and feel, more on that in the spoilers). Right! Time for the spoiler block... I think my biggest issue with the film though is its kind of haphazard structure and pacing though. Like how @Julius Caesar mentioned, this film doesn't really follow the typical kind of 3 Act structure that the past movies did. It bounces back between people and places without any real connecting structure to support it; it doesn't really feel like the events all happen at the same time (especially when plotlines actually end up leading nowhere, like... ..., it comes across as a bit pointless, especially given just how much running time they give to that part of the film - it feels like a 3rd of the entire running time and it ends up doing next to nothing for the story, despite being a cool twist that goes against what you'd expect), making the film feel rather disjointed as a whole. It's just kind of a messy movie that goes on for longer than it should really. Overall though? I really enjoyed it! It's nice to see them be daring and try some new ideas, even if it ends up being a bit jumbled and messy. The pacing is poor, but the characterisation is really good. There's some good comic relief here, but also some real silliness that makes no sense. I'd rather see a movie that takes risks and kind of stumbles doing so, than a safe movie that gets most things right but does nothing new. They've also really kind of wiped the slate clean and dropped off a lot of series baggage going forward, leaving the past behind... So from here, it seems like they can basically do anything they want with the story now going forward, which should be interesting to see in Ep9!
  13. The US version has always had more noticable slowdown than the PAL version (Same is true of a few other games I can think of, like Super Metroid and Super G N' G), something to do with the different clock speeds of the CPU and output resolution differences of PAL/NTSC; can't quite remember the details off the top of my head. But yes, that's normal. The game still runs noticably faster during normal gameplay though, because of 60hz. As for graphical glitches? I've not played the game on New3DS, so I can't really comment I'm afraid.
  14. You say that, knowing fully well how much you loved that Shiny Ponyta stream (you know the one) and you don't even mention it... I am so dissappointed in you.
  15. They should be fine in that case then I'd imagine. I'd suggest updating the Joy-cons in the way that @ArtMediocre mentioned. I've heard of some people having gyro drifting issues that were fixed after they updated their Joy-cons. See if that works for you. You can also test to see if it's being caused by wireless interference by going into the controller input test screen in the Settings menu and then pressing some buttons on your Joy-cons, while trying to block the signal. If it's noticeably bad (like, really obvious - as in, can't press inputs consistently when the joy-cons are behind your back bad), then I'd suggest sending it in for repair.
  16. I wouldn't say that a used one is bad per-say, more that I'd be concerned about it possibly being fake. As long as you're confident that it is not an el-fako one, go for it. @Ashley. Are you sure that it's not a matter of your Joy-con's wireless connection to the Switch getting cut off? Mario Kart is probably gonna be a kind of worst case scenario (especially if you're using gyro controls without the wheel) as your hands are wrapped around the Joy-con and will block the signal very easily if you have a dodgy Joy-con. And in a game that uses motion controls, wireless cut-offs are gonna be very noticeable. The wireless cut-off issues are a known problem with a huge chunk of the first lots of Joy-Cons that were produced (It wasn't until the Yellow ARMS ones came out that they finally fixed them proper) I know that I had a hellish experience playing MK with motion controls and games like World of Goo until I got my Joy-cons replaced (and the old ones fixed). I had 4 Joy-cons at the the time and they ALL had disconnection issues to some varying degree (my grey ones were borderline completely unusable in my living room until I got them fixed). Now that I have some new ones (and the old ones fixed), they work like champs!
  17. Surprised that nobody here has pointed out that they've made the previously unavailable GS Ball event now accessible in the western version of the game for this VC release! (Before it was exclusive to the JPN version and only if you connected online using the Mobile GB Adapter).
  18. The next batch of NeoGeo ACA games will be the following...
  19. Disney now own all of Don Bluth’s films. Oh the incredible irony.
  20. Tried a strat for holding back for shrooms in the last two races... ... didn't work Not the worst night ever for me, but not great either. Was fun though!
  21. Thanks. The non-Switch sales look a bit disappointing this time around (Noitulove 2’s sale is good though!); nowhere near as good as the Black Friday one sadly.
  22. Supposedly there’s an equivalent sale on the Wii U and 3DS according to Nintendo Life, but annoyingly they don’t list what 3DS & Wii U games are on sale, just Switch...
  23. There's an update for the game (Ver 1.1.1) arriving on Dec 22nd... http://www.perfectly-nintendo.com/xenoblade-chronicles-2-production-notes-6-ver-1-1-1-update/ Brings the following... These changes do give me the impression that the game just isn't quite finished yet... Might just wait till next year when all the DLC is out before I play it. Maybe it'll be done by then
  24. The only really fair major 3rd party retail comparison we have to go off at the moment is LA Noire (given that it launched day and date alongside all other platforms and was a very good port by all accounts), and that seemed to sell roughly in-line with the Xbone version. But it didn't exactly do gangbusters on any platform, so... I don't really think that the port to Switch itself was the issue here with those games in particular, given that they run poorly on all platforms (hell, the former was even ported by Tantalus and they generally do good work). That being said, there is certainly a trend of poorly ported games, like Pinball FX 3 (Which apparantly only runs at 30FPS in handheld mode and is hardly a looker) and Overcooked (which definitely needed more time in the oven before it launched); there are plenty of Switch eShop games that rightfully should run much better than they currently do, given the hardware. The eShop is quickly becoming crowded though and the gold-rush is likely to end soon; meaning that there's less of an incentive to cash-in quick. Nintendo also desperately needs to fix the Switch eShop's discoverability, as games are already getting buried (it's impossible to find an older game now unless you either search for it, it goes on sale, or you trawl through the All Games list). Wii U had a far, FAR better eShop layout than Switch does.
  25. That's exactly what I'm expecting; and you're right, that's where it's gonna really count. MS are set up for it much better than Sony are at this point, which may well help tip the balance in their favour somewhat (and at this point in this console cycle, I'd feel much more confident buying on Xbox than PS when it comes to being able to keep my purchases going forward). But of course, they need to offer something new that's compelling to begin with; which they aren't well set up for right now...
