  1. Gustavo Santaolalla has been confirmed as the composer of the music, which makes me very happy. Loved the music in the first game and in the DLC, and very often listen to the soundtrack on Spotify. Can't wait to hear what masterpieces he produces this time!
  2. A lot of people had been hoping/wishing for this game to become a reality at some point, and today we finally got a first look with this trailer. It looks glorious, and hopefully it will be as great as the first one was. Looking forward to see how this one turns out!
  3. Well our completion was supposed to be yesterday... and of course nothing has happened yet. This is taking the piss now really. Our solicitor is trying to push things along, even threatening that we will pull out of the deal, but it's not helping at all. Apparently the house our sellers are buying has solar panels, and they are waiting on documents for that. It's been going on for weeks for just that one thing... Solicitor told us to enquire about a mortgage offer extension as it's getting increasingly unlikely that we'll be in before Christmas. Can't even set up our Christmas tree now because our flat is filled with moving boxes and junk.
  4. Because my cheap, crappy Argos vacuum cleaner is completely falling apart after almost 5 years of use, I decided to finally invest in a decent vacuum. So exciting.
  5. Mom told me that apparently our cat (my last living pet in Belgium) has not been seen for several days. Which is unlike her at all. She had just turned 17 and mom says she was being a bit slow lately (and we think she'd gone deaf/partially deaf too). So now we think she might have gone in hiding to die somewhere. Dad has searched around but couldn't find her anywhere. I am upset. This is the last picture mom sent of her in October.
  6. Thanks to the people who've bought some of my cards! I'll be sending them out this weekend!
  7. Thanks! I've just gone through my stock and re-uploaded what I still have to my website: http://www.happy-bee.uk/christmascards
  8. The problem is that there are no similar jobs around, at all. :P The closest ones I can find are things like graphic designers, which is still quite different... And most jobs don't mention how much the salary would be. But yeah I think I should earn at least £20,000 (I'm on £18,750 now), but not sure they would give me that. Also, I'd love to actually start doing this on my own, but my contract states I'm not allowed to have a similar job for 1 year after leaving my position, so it's a tough one.
  9. Thank you! I had a bit of a panic though as I saw your order, as I recently took my cards to Belgium so my mom could sell them there... and I thought I had none left here! But luckily I still have quite a few of the Christmas ones so it's all fine! It's reminded me that I need to take my shop offline though, until I figure out what I'm doing with my website haha! I'll post the cards to you this weekend! Thanks again!
  10. Problem with my job is that I have no targets or requirements, no real role description, so I don't really have anything to compare my work or progress to. I just know that without me, they wouldn't have any videos, which would mean no money coming in. :P This is why I find it hard to write an email, I can't say "I've improved this" or "I have done that"... I just create the videos we make and that's it. :/ I also can't compare my wages to other people as I wouldn't know where to look for that (if anyone knows the wages of whiteboard animators, feel free to let me know haha!).
  11. Well done @will&\#39; with the job change, hope it all works out alright! I need some tips from people on how to ask for a pay rise! I have been with the company since May 2014 and as I am the only employee, I feel like all the work is just shifted to me. I don't think I earn enough for all the work I do to be honest, and a recent post by my boss on a Facebook entrepreneur group he set up (I'm stalking him) basically said "I'm now making much more than I would have been able to do if I was still just an employee, and by the end of next year I'm aiming to at least double that!". So he's probably earning quite a bit more than me, and plans to earn even more... So I really need a payrise! How do I go about asking for this via email? What do I write down? Obviously I can't use the above argument. :P But some points: - Not had a payrise since working there (I did move from part-time to full-time, but that's not really a payrise) - Not had a single sick day since starting work - I do overtime when necessary to finish projects - I try to work efficiently and quickly to get projects moving along quickly Don't know what else really... Just frustrated that I am earning peanuts while doing all the work, while my boss gets paid more for simple sending me over the work... :/
  12. I think if we're ever buying again, we would at least make sure there is more than 5 days between exchange and completion. At least they you will have some time to get things sorted... If we ever move again. :P I have to figure out if I need to get the home insurance sorted by Monday too then, don't I? Urghhh. Well we were told the house they are buying is vacant, but then were told last week or whenever, that it has a tenant in there who will be moving out on the 20th (or so we hope)... We switched to a monthly contract after having our offer accepted, but it does mean we've been paying £50 extra per month to be on a rolling contract. Not sure when to cancel it though, as we will be away during most of December so won't have much/any time to move/buy furniture then. But then taking another month extra means paying double on rent/mortgage, taxes, electricity etc! I honestly thought about pulling out of the deal a few times, but then I didn't really see any better houses come up either so yeah... Hopefully it will all be worth it!
  13. I'm getting so stressed out by all this house stuff! We are supposedly exchanging on Monday and completing on Friday, but we are still waiting on confirmation that it is even happening! My solicitor just told me that she hasn't heard anything yet as it will all depend on the purchase of our sellers and if the tenant there moves out in time... I have just messaged the seller directly to ask her if her sale has gone through and if they have signed their contracts... hope she will reply soon! Seriously this is just ridiculous though, how are we supposed to arrange anything for moving and buying furniture etc? I was going to have my parents come over from Belgium to help with the move and painting and all that, but now that is impossible with less than a week away (they don't even know yet that we might be completing next week, as we still aren't sure yet it's happening)... So pissed off by all this! It will be half a year soon since we started all this...
  14. Well done guys! Keep going!
  15. Good luck to everyone participating! I will try and watch the feed while working tomorrow, if possible. And of course I'll give a donation too.
  16. As much as I want the UK to stay in the EU, I agree with you that it would not be right if people get to keep their EU privileges of free movement and votes, without there being something offered in return by the UK. It just wouldn't be fair, plus I am worried it might lead to other countries trying to get out and get similar deals. :/
  17. I think Florida just went to Trump as well. It's likely he'll win... this is Brexit all over again... I want to go back to sleep but not sure I can now... urgh!
  18. Aren't all/most of the things you mention optional? If you don't enjoy those fetch quests and optional tombs, you could just ignore them really. The tombs do give you new skills, some of which can be useful. I actually just 100% finished the game, got every challenge and document and cache etc. :P To me the game felt like more of the same as the first one, but maybe because it is the same it won't be as exciting anymore? In any case, you could just continue with the story and ignore the missions and challenges and see if you still like it then or not?
  19. That sounds very similar to us! Started in May as well, we now just heard that mayyyyyyybe we might complete the process at the end of the month. Maybe. Still waiting to hear back!
  20. To be honest it wasn't really a question though was it? He already gave his opinion, you saying what you said isn't suddenly going to make him say "Oh sorry, I didn't realise there were 48 beautifully designed tracks, that completely changes everything!"
  21. The issue isn't that you're not allowed to voice your opinion (everyone is allowed to), the issue is that you only really seem to do this when someone posts something (slightly) negative. You can't accuse someone of jumping down your throat when you do the same thing... Back on topic, I agree that MK8 couldn't keep me interested. It was just more of the same, it didn't really give me anything new. Same issue I had with Smash Bros (which I've always loved). They can add loads of tracks/stages and characters, but the gameplay has just started feeling stale for me. I loved Mario Kart on DS and Double Dash (I know most people don't, but I loved the two characters thing, especially when having two people team up). The Wii and Wii U games just felt lacking to me for some reason. So not sure I would get the Switch game unless it brings something interesting to the table. Hard to guess what they are doing with it yet though, as all we have is that one second clip. :P
  22. I'm so sorry to hear about your horrible news @nightwolf. Like Daft said, if you need to speak to someone or just get stuff off your chest, we are all here for you. I know your family don't live close to you, but I hope that they (and your partner) can help you to go through this difficult time somehow. @EEVILMURRAY, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Like you said, at least she's not hurting anymore right now, but that doesn't make this any easier to deal with. Take care. In short, cancer is a bitch.
  23. 1) What's your dream job? I think my dream job was always to do something with art, mostly to become a children's book illustrator (though at some points when I was a teenager, I wanted to become an animator for Disney :P ). The animation love kind of died when I actually did study animation in uni (and dropped out after 2.5 years for various reasons). I then went on to do Graphic Design/Illustration instead, which suited me more (the illustration bit). Also did an extra year after my Masters to get a degree as an Art Teacher, though I couldn't really see myself teaching in a school, it was just a bit of a backup plan. 2) What are you actually doing? After spending about 2 years in a horrible customer service environment after moving to the UK, I finally found a company looking for a whiteboard animator/illustrator. It was only advertised as a part-time job (2.5 days a week), but I desperately wanted out of my customer service job. Applied (with a drawn CV), had the interview and got the job! So now I have been a whiteboard animator for about 2.5 years, worked my way up from 2.5 days to 4 days, to 5. It is a mix of animation/illustration and has me drawing storyboards, drawing the illustrations, getting them ready to use in the software (as we don't use an actual whiteboard) and putting together the video. The subject matter is usually pretty fucking boring (the amount of times I've had to try and make marketing things sound fun...), but I get to draw so it's not all bad. Not paid much in my job either, but I get to work from home (as I am the only employee) so that kind of makes up for it. 3) Did you ever envision yourself in what you're doing now? Not really! I didn't even know there was such a thing as a whiteboard animator to be honest! Ideally, I would still like to become a freelance illustrator/animator at some point, maybe do what I do now (or something similar) as my own business. Somehow. It's mostly the lack of money/confidence/motivation that is stopping me I think. And the uncertainty it would bring. Oh and dealing with clients, that's the one thing I would hate, as currently that is the part my boss takes care of (I hate talking to people!). :P
  24. We've been watching this (just watched episode 5 tonight) and really enjoying it. It's different, and in a way makes you feel a bit uneasy about the people in this "world". Also makes me wonder how I would respond/act if I was a visitor to this world... I like the way the story is slowly unfolding throughout each episode, and the acting and music in this show is just great. You can tell a lot of work (and money) has gone into it. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
