  1. I think that's Redshell?
  2. For people that are playing the WiiU version, how does it hold up? Are the graphics ok? Is the framerate acceptable or does it drop considerably in certain places? I am kind of tempted to get the WiiU version, but I don't want to play it if it turns out being a gimped version of the game...
  3. The game looks beautiful in those videos! Definitely next on my list of games to pick up! Kinda makes me wish we had a PS4 Pro though to enjoy the enhanced graphics... but 3 PS4 consoles would be overkill. :P
  4. I hope you all enjoy your new consoles guys! Be sure to post impressions of it at some point for those of us still on the fence.
  5. I'm kinda sad that I won't get to play BotW right now, as I normally always get home console Zelda games on release... But I just can't see myself playing it on the WiiU (unless it turns out it plays alright on there, but even then...), and I can't justify buying a Switch right now. I really hope the game is great and that more great games are released for the console, so that I'll have a reason to invest in it in the future. Now I just have to stay spoiler free somehow!
  6. Those crabs kinda look like Kabuto Pokémon to me... and they look very creepy!
  7. Yeah the camera could be a pain in certain areas, when you're trying to figure out where to go next. Quite often I would just rely on Trico to figure out where to go next, as he would often find the next passageway before me. :P As for the controls, I seemed to have a lot of trouble letting go of Trico... Maybe I just didn't know how to do it properly, but my character would always keep hanging onto him, even though I wanted to jump down. Would get quite annoying, especially when you want to get off quickly during a battle or something. It's a shame, because the game is lovely, but the camera and controls do let it down a bit at times.
  8. We got one of those too because we didn't pay the licence yet for our new house (we did for our flat, then moved it over to our house when we moved but they obviously didn't check their database for this). Not sure they actually will show up, and you can just ignore them access to your house. :P Also, these days you also need a licence if you watch tv through a tablet, phone or computer, because they realised people were using that as a loophole not to pay the licence and still watch tv!
  9. Happy belated birthday! I hope you had a lovely day yesterday!
  10. Thanks for the birthday messages (and to @Fierce_LiNk for making this thread... I think)! Thank you! Please don't remind me. Haha thanks! The house is still a mess so not really a hive of anything... other than boxes. :P I did not see these presents... maybe they are still on their way! If anyone sees them, please send them to me. Because like Ashley says, I deserve them. All of them! Thank you! Though I have to say I've not had a croque monsieur in years, and never had a karmeliet (don't really drink beer apart from kriek haha)! I am letting my countrymen down! :P
  11. Quite looking forward to getting our new tv! We had a lot of Amazon vouchers as well (about £115 worth!), which helped with this purchase... and then today we got our deposit back from our rented flat (which we weren't sure if we would), so we're basically not paying for this tv at all! Can't wait to get rid of the poverty tv I've been using. :P
  12. I got this game as a Christmas present and only just got the time to play through it. I never played ICO or SotC, though did watch Jim play through ICO; in a way, this seems quite similar to that game really. I really liked Trico and you can tell they spent a lot of time and resources trying to get his AI up to scratch. Really don't think this could've been done years ago, as it is quite clever the way he reacts/does his own thing/responds to your commands. I enjoyed just watching Trico from time to time, see what he would do. Sometimes he would have figured out the way forward before I had spotted it, which was useful. :P The game can be quite difficult though, as it is not always clear what you need to do (and I have to admit that I had to use a guide a few times, or had to restart from a certain checkpoint as Trico didn't do what he was supposed to do). The controls and camera can be very frustrating too and have lead to quite a few deaths. There was one particular moment (platform jumping around a tower) where I almost threw my controller at the screen as I kept dying because the camera kept spinning the wrong way. Fun times. :P Even though the controls can be frustrating, it was still a fun game to play through and I really liked the relationship you build up with Trico. Very touching. Ending spoilers below and reply to @Dcubed's post:
  13. After spending ages packing all of our games and consoles away (and having them now clutter our house, waiting to be unpacked someday), I kinda wish we could sell some of our games... But @Fierce_LiNk won't let me! There's loads of games there which I know we'll never touch again, yet he won't let me sell them. Such a pain. :P Definitely want to go digital as much as possible now, just to save space in our new house. Too bad prices aren't always great on digital games, unless you wait quite a while for deals to show up.
  14. Yeah that's us! I made a post about this before to explain it, in case you want to know! Click here for post
  15. Where do you save for your pension though? Just through your work pension scheme or do you have a separate pension savings account as well?
  16. Yeah I really like the OS, it seems quite intuitive to me. Still running on OS X Yosemite here though, always wary about upgrading as I once nearly lost everything while doing so. As for connecting with other devices, that kind of stuff is great if you own an iPhone etc. I however have an Android phone, and my Mac does not want to connect with it at all. It simply doesn't want to set up a bluetooth connection. So it's a massive pain that way!
  17. I looked at the staging date before on the workplace pensions website (assuming this is right) and I'm supposed to get it in August... I feel like I've been waiting ages already! I know the pension provider from my previous job, but have no clue how to actually access the account. Will have to look into it. Though wouldn't they charge a fee to take the money out? Might not be worth it if they do. As for savings, we had been very good to save up for our house, putting in the maximum every month in both of our Help to Buy ISAs and then some extra in a normal savings account. Now that that is gone, I'll have to look for somewhere else to start saving our money. Normal savings accounts don't seem to give any interest anymore, and I'm assuming it's the same for normal ISA accounts. So will have to dig around to see what is worth it.
  18. Hmm, can anyone recommend what to do about pensions? I still don't have a pension anywhere (work doesn't offer it) and really should start saving... but I have no clue where to start with this. I've tried looking into it but it was all a bit confusing. Also, my previous work did have a pension scheme near the end of my time there, and I made 2 or 3 contributions to it... so what happens to that money now? Is there any way for me to access it or do I leave it and I get it paid out when I'm at pension age? It's only a little amount, but every little helps! :P
  19. I've been using MacBooks since about 2006, not really because I wanted to, but because I pretty much had to. Our uni was known as the 'university with the laptop' or something silly, which meant that every student had to own a laptop at the start of their degree (with discounts available through uni). As we were in Graphic Design, we were offered MacBooks instead of Windows laptops. And I've basically just been using MacBooks since then. I had my original 13 inch MacBook, which lasted me quite a long time, and then a few years ago I upgraded to my current 15 inch MacBook Pro. I like the operating system on Macs more than I like Windows, but then I haven't properly used Windows since 2006, so I can't comment too much on how they compare. I use my laptop mostly for Photoshop, Indesign, After Effects etc, so graphic heavy programs. I think I just stick with Macs now because it's what I'm used to... but honestly though, they are horribly overpriced! Not sure I could afford a new one at this point, especially after the prices have gone up even more after Brexit. Also, their chargers are absolutely shit and all break at some point (and of course they are expensive to replace as well). What do you use your laptop for? MacBooks are not great for gaming, as lots of stuff doesn't get released for it. Same with some programs, you have to make sure there's a Mac version for it. As much as I like my Mac, I'm not sure I would really recommend one to people, I really don't know what makes them better over Windows. I just like mine because it's what I'm used to after so many years of using it. :P
  20. I was called up for jury service somewhere last year I think (or a bit longer ago), but because I hadn't lived in the UK long enough yet, I didn't have to do it. But from what I remember, I think you have to take unpaid leave from work. Which in my case would have been problematic for my boss, as I am the only employee, and you never know how long a case can take. I think you get a bit of monetary compensation on jury duty, but I don't think it was much at all. Don't remember the specific amounts though. I was just happy I didn't have to do it, and am hoping I never get called up again. :P
  21. I've been binning some stuff, but feel I don't have enough time to sort through it all! I think I'm going to have to bin more when I finally get to unpack it. No idea how much stuff there is as we've already been moving some stuff over during the last few weeks... Think we'll have to do quite a few more runs tonight and tomorrow with our car though! Also, sofa should arrive today, yay!
  22. Dear god, how much stuff can two people own?! I feel like there is no end to all this packing! D: It seems that about half of our stuff is game related as well. I'm not sure whether to be proud or embarrassed haha! Only have tomorrow evening and Saturday morning and evening left to pack the rest, somehow move it to the house and clean everything too! This includes moving some of Jim's weights too, fun! :P
  23. I felt the same when playing through Bloodborne. There is a lot of story in that game, but none of it is told through cutscenes or stuff like that, it is all in the descriptions of items etc. Found it quite interesting to discover the backstory of the world like that. As for story based games, Last of Us is up there (even though I didn't play it but watched Jim play through it twice), Life is Strange was great and of course The Witcher 3. Loved that game so much, all the little side stories with different characters added so much to that game for me.
  24. Also, I would recommend going with a solicitor near you, just to make things easier. Ask around with friends and family to see which one they might recommend. Whatever you do, don't go with a shitty online one! Our sellers went with the one recommended by Purplebricks (Ezie Conveyancing I think) and they were absolutely shit! They took ages to get anything done, delayed the process loads and our solicitor could never get a hold of them! On the day of the move, they were supposed to transfer the funds they received from us on to the next person in the chain, and they just delayed this... we didn't get the keys until the early evening, as the sellers were waiting for their solicitors to move things along. D:
  25. It really depends on the price of the house and if you plan to do work in the house you're buying, if you need furniture etc. We've spent a loooooooot of money, but then we've basically been redoing half the house (new floor, new fuse box, new sockets and switches, painted, completely new bathroom, furniture...). Things you will definitely need to pay for: - solicitor fees (we paid about £1400 in total I think, which included solicitor fees, search fees, bank fees, Help to Buy fees,...) - stamp duty (depends on the house price, you an calculate it here: https://www.stampdutycalculator.org.uk/) - homebuyers survey (we paid £540 for a level 2 report) - if you use a mortgage advisor, you might have to pay them too (£250 in our case) - there might be mortgage set-up fees, which usually get added to your mortgage And then of course anything you need to fix in the house, or buy for it. So yeah, definitely make sure you save up enough money!
