  1. Ah thanks, I got really confused there! We officially live in Poole now, but it seems they had elections in 2015 as well. Thought I had somehow messed up our registration on the electoral register!
  2. Huh? Are these local elections everywhere in the UK today? We didn't get our poll card to let us know about it and tell us where to go vote... :S
  3. So I finally finished this today. And got the platinum at the same time. What a wonderful game! I did every sidequest, found every relic/flower/vessel/vantage point and even did all the hunter's trials (even though some of those did piss me off a bit haha). Didn't really want the game to end, so I'm a bit sad that it's over! Fighting the machines is just very fun, trying to find the best way to tackle a certain type. Though near the end I had customised my blast sling with so many damage coils that the thing was just super lethal haha. Loved using that sling. Had a great time with the game and would definitely recommend it for people who haven't played it yet.
  4. I'm happy to see the game doing so well, it deserves it! I played quite a bit of it during the weekend, probably clocked in about 12 hours or so. I'm slowly progressing with the story though; it seems every time I try to get to a main story mission, I get distracted by side quests or finding vessels etc. :P I actually have all the vessels and Banuk figures now. Still missing about 3 vantage points and 4 flowers I think, so not too many left! Just on my way to do another Cauldron (done two so far), hope I can override some of the big machines after this one! Though I have to say I don't use the override too much, I usually seem to stick to using corruption arrows and watch the machines (or humans) fight among themselves! Looking forward to playing more this week, and I do urge people to pick it up at some point if they haven't yet, it's really a lovely game. And so beautiful.
  5. Completely ignore the fact that I sent you a link to those rules as well.
  6. It's the same in Dutch, the word for girl is 'meisje', which is a diminutive as well so it's a neutral word. I feel bad that there aren't any specific rules for this stuff in Dutch. For me it's something I just know as I grew up with these words, so it's really difficult to explain why it is the way it is to someone learning the language!
  7. I actually tracked down a Thunderjaw yesterday (my first one) as I need Crystal Braiding to buy the Shadow Sling. I was probably very under-leveled as I wasn't supposed to be in that area yet, but I managed to defeat it with the help of a lot of trap wires, tear arrows and fire arrows. And then when his health was really low, I tied him down and gave him a few good hits. Done! Epic fight! But then the fucker didn't give me the item I was looking for. Also, I agree with the towns and villages, they could do with having more going on in them, or just being able to go into houses etc. At the moment it does just feel like the place where you will find a merchant and some side quests. A shame, as the rest of the game is lovely!
  8. I've started playing this as well a few days ago! Basically I get to play during the week when Jim is too tired from work, then Jim will get to play during the weekends or something. Should've bought it digitally I guess, but oh well, we will manage somehow. :P Really enjoying the game and it looks absolutely beautiful. It's like every sunrise and sunset in this game is epic haha. Only got to about level 18 or something, but I have mainly been doing sidequests/errands with a bit of the main questline put in between. Haven't really left the main area yet, so I am interested to see the other regions (though I've caught glimpses of Jim playing and it looks really lovely). And to see more of the machines of course! The battles are quite cool and you do have to figure out certain strategies depending on how many and which machines you are fighting. You can't just go running in cause you'll probably get killed. I do need to get some upgraded weapons though, only have some of the Carja ones right now. Looking forward to playing more of this.
  9. I've played a few games today and quite enjoyed it. Started out with the starter decks in Practice mode, won most of my games (struggled a bit with one of the decks at first, but then managed to win a game with that too). Once I won at least one game with all the starter decks in Practice mode, I decided to assemble my own deck and try multiplayer mode. Think I managed to get a pretty good set of cards together, as I won most of my online games. My first one was really close and I thought I won when I played my last card... but then the spy they had put on my board switched back to their side and that made them steal the win from me! I imagine once the real game is released you will have to earn cards, because it wouldn't make sense for all of them to be available from the start. Plus the rewards you earn seem to imply you can create cards, so I imagine that's how it will work. I can see this becoming a nice little game to play when I have half an hour with nothing to do or something.
  10. Ordered a cordless lawnmower... because the grass is getting quite long now! >.>;
  11. Bump for this thread! Anyone with a PS4 (and a Sony Bravia tv or similar I guess), what settings do you use on your tv to get the best picture quality when gaming? We're trying to get Horizon to look its best, but for some reason we are struggling a bit. Not sure if it's our PS4 or the tv, but we just can't get it to look right. What are the settings you tend to use? If you use any specific settings at all, that is. :P
  12. We've been having remembrance events all day today for the attacks on Brussel from last year, and then this happens... it's like a never ending stream of attacks it seems. My thoughts go out to those affected by all this, friends and family of the injured and deceased. I hope this doesn't lead to more hate towards Muslims either, but I'm afraid it will.
  13. What is the best way to dust your PS4? @Fierce_LiNk's one sounds like a spacecraft hoovering through space or something. I'm amazed it hasn't burst into flames yet. :P
  14. Whooo, result! After pestering my boss a bit more, he finally replied, and I am getting a 6% pay rise! It's not the full amount I asked for, but then I knew what I was asking for might have been a bit much heh. Will be getting the increase from May, basically once I've been working there for 3 years. Finally!
  15. Have a great time Ashley! Also, a tip from my friend: stock up on water if you can, as she went recently and said it is almost impossible to find bottled water (unless you're staying in a resort of course, they were backpacking). I am currently off to Belgium! Going to see my family for my niece's second birthday. Don't have much planned, but that means I can look forward to a stress-free week hopefully.
  16. We used Flubit to get it for £38.06 (maybe you'll be lucky and get it even cheaper), order will be fulfilled by Gameseek. Simplygames also seem to sell it for £39.85.
  17. That looks like a pretty bullshitty contract... How do companies get away with this sort of shit? :/ Speaking about bullshit... *warning, small rant coming* I sent my boss an email on March 4th (a Saturday) finally asking for a pay rise. I of course listed all the reasons why I think I should get more salary and all that jazz. On the Monday after he sent me a message saying he'd received my email and would respond later that day or the day after if it was busy. Monday passed and no comment. Tuesday passed and no comment... I decided to give it a week and reminded him again on the Monday after if he could respond. He simply ignored my question. I feel like I am talking to a brick wall sometimes. It is great working from home, but I get absolutely no communications about anything. Half of the time I just have to guess what I'm supposed to do, or remind him to upload stuff for me to work on (and then when I comment on projects or ask for more details, half of the time it gets ignored anyway, which means work gets delayed). Grrrrrrraaaaaaahhh!!! Sorry, just needed to vent a bit! I like my job, but it can also be so unnecessarily frustrating at times! I bet my boss is going to keep ignoring my request... or he might just pretend they don't have the money to increase my salary by not paying me on time (again).
  18. My Belgian ID is the thing I have to send in. :P It is what I use to travel in Europe. I don't have a passport (would only need one outside of Europe). Can't really get a passport easily either as I would have to go to Belgian embassy in London (on two separate trips) to get it... Don't have any annual leave left to just go there, boooh. And yes, leave! I think more people should move to different countries to get a feel of the world and different cultures! I wouldn't mind moving to some other countries either if I ever got the chance (especially if they are nice and warm).
  19. I didn't get to vote, but my opinion hasn't changed at all. This entire referendum was a shambles, with false information being thrown at uninformed people. And with such a small win margin, it never should have been accepted. I think the whole thing is going to be a big mess, which will take years to sort out. And people might find out that the things they wanted, will not actually happen. I have looked into getting a permanent residency card so they can't just kick me out (something I shouldn't even have to do as a member of the EEA, but I don't trust this government), but I have to send in my ID and it can take 6 months to sort out... I can't go without my ID for that long so I'm not sure what to do about this right now.
  20. Played a bit of this as well, it's quite fun once you get the hang of it. Did some double games with @Fierce_LiNk, which was quite fun actually. It can be frustrating though when you think your partner has caught the disc but then ends up failing. :P Also played a few single player games and won quite a few! Slowly getting the hang of the throws, but rarely manage to do a super throw.
  21. Ah, it still says £10 on their website and Facebook, but we'll see if that changes then. Didn't know they opened an extra floor. Looking forward to seeing what machines they have.
  22. We are flying to Manchester, so will have to use public transport to get to Bury (and from the airport to Manchester city, still need to figure all this out). The Arcade Club is open from 11am until 11pm on Saturdays though, so plenty of time to play games there. And @Rummy, not sure if you meant prices of the club or prices of getting there, but the entry fee is £10 for adults, which then lets you play the machines for free.
  23. Happy birthday Marcamillian! Hope you have a great party this weekend!
  24. After seeing Rummy's Loading bar thread, it reminded me of something! @Fierce_LiNk and I will be spending a weekend in Manchester from April 14 until the 17th to go watch Manchester United play. As we have a full Saturday with nothing planned, we thought of going to Bury to check out the Arcade Club, as we loved the look of it after seeing it in the Maddog Marathon! So I was wondering if any people living nearby would be interested in maybe meeting up on Saturday April 15? Our hotel is near Old Trafford, but I'm sure we can find a way to get to Bury somehow. Would anyone be up for meeting up, possibly at the Arcade Club?
  25. But the new tv was a gift for my birthday. And it is plugged into my PS4. As a trade off, @Fierce_LiNk gets to use the lounge side of our new sofa so he can stretch his legs, while I have to use the normal part of the sofa like a peasant. :P
