All elements of my argument I countered his horrible preposition by saying "well who's a better role model; hitler or gary glitter?" I mean there's no wholesome answer.
-
Which is the better female role model? I had a semi-serious argument with a mate in a pub who wanted to argue that thatcher was teh obvious choice, based upon reginald watts (is that the comedian's name?) skit, however I just instantly thought that Madonna is easily the better argument. I have plenty of cents to share but I'm interested to see if anyone has an opinion first.

Flippancy is such an ugly thing. It's such a shame you seem so attached to it. We've met over spoiler-related issues before -- generally I'd prefer if things were always tagged episode-specific. I can make a judgement call to spoiler-tag comic/tv stuff because it's much more clear cut. It's always easier to criticise than commend -- especially from the armchair vantage point.
-
Yeah please keep anything comic-related that is potential future TV stuff in spoiler tags. I know it doesn't seem like much but it makes a bit of difference.

I think you're shooting yourself in teh foot @/nando/ by basically entering a whole new market of games and just refusing to give a bunch of AAA games a chance. If I purchased a wii tomorrow I'd expect a list of games that wouldn't appeal to me (otherwise I'd've bought a console already, eh?), but I'd also expect to find many a surprise in actually trying the suggestions. Why so afraid of finding you actually do like something?

rokhed00* /wrists ... I first saw these forums the first time I ever drank alcohol. It's funny how the two have held hands ever since :P

Yeah lots of sloppy play. Luckily chelsea's been nothing but embarassing with their attempts thus far!
-
Great first goal, second one was a bit lol. Man U going down the right wing a few times but not getting further perhaps due to trying to do too much. Chelsea have settled a bit in the last 5 minutes, finally having their first decent chance, so I'm sure there#s still very much a game on, here. Man U's defence has been great.

What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!

If I took away the live performance of maddog's stuff and O_W's editing madness, I'd still say the 2nd video O_W posted wins out. Frank Ocean clearly has some mad skillz but rnb (no matter how slow) is still just so... fixed and narrow. The disney track annoyed me (I don't like high pitches, but then my hearing loss is high-pitched!) but the Kadinchey (whatever that is) track (I appreciate this pogo thing is mixing up movie noises?) was much more soothing, if only too short. -
I do know what you mean -- someone has a girlfriend and they suddenly think they know the answer to everyone's singleton problems. Fact is I just knew the answer to my own problems and you're right - I can't infer that it gives me more reasoning powers than others. Though that brings to mind an intersting topic in itself -- can someone who has no relationship experience give relationship advice? (I think yes but to an extent) Not weird.

I had to get two haircuts today. Strangely the 2nd time in a year this has happened. I really need to just... pick one place and stick with it!

(apart from Ganepark32) Buggers! Listen to the music! :P Or post more stuff you're listening to! I need more new music. -
Serebii; where do you think you're going wrong? Have you identified a particular area which you can say is to blame for this? Is it: a) All the girls in the world b) you are you actually really unattractive c) you're not doing things properly if a), then give up/go homo. b) means work on being more attractive/go see a therapist/don't be ridiculous, or c), congratulations you've made the first step towards recovery! Admitting you're actually wrong about something is a great step forward, and in itself is an attractive quality. I realise I've promised multiple times to not give you advice anymore (simply because you don't follow anyone's advice properly... ok and because I was overly rude last time and I promised myself I'd not be harsh again), but it's hard to watch.

Totes wins. Stoled it for facebook!

Definitely red. Can't use the whole "oh it was an accident!" stuff. Neither player expected it to happen, sure - but being aware of the position of others is important. Play gets stopped if a boot is dangeriously high -- if it could potentially hurt someone. Nani's high boot did hurt someone. I think it's fair enough.

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground Try this trick and spin it, yeah Your head will collapse But there's nothing in it And you'll ask yourself Where is my mind

You sound like an Albert Camus character, numb with emotion. I have no idea what broke you last year (or if it's why you're growing a beard), so it's hard to say anything else. For your conflicting report I offer you this conflicting bit of advice; head down, chin up!

@Dog\-amoto I don't know what it is about the show. I crammed in seasons 3+ then anything I tried to watch afterwards was just... missing something. I would agree it's not upper echelon business, but the production value is insane. It's just so well set; costume and set design alone let you seep into the era. Characters are built up extremely well and very few are left to become 2D, something Breaking Bad (Saul Goodman! even Skyler) is guilty of. None of the seasons really feel complete, yet they always leave me with a nagging feeling - a sensation to return for more Mad Men that I can't fully explain.

The Prisoner (2009 version... or whenever it was made) Depends on what you want from a 'finished' show as you listed the main shows that basically wrapped up neatly. Otherwise there's Deadwood, carnivale, Oz, In Treatment, Jericho.. I think Six Feet Under would be a great place to go if you haven't already. Just hit up some HBO. Even The Good Wife is an above average show. Mad Men is another utterly essential show, though afterwards pretty much every other show is lame in comparison.

When I saw the andrex advert I did immediately think of the old thread. I just remembered how much of a faux-outrage that thread made, and yet here we are on pre-watershed tv having people proudly exclaim such utterly banal and inconsequential nonsense. It really is bad tv.

Your Favourite Game OF ALL TIME (up to this point)

Not being funny but I've seen someone juggle a rubix cube whilst solving it - they used two balls and a cube though, and they took a lot longer. At one point they threw the two balls up high and did a few quick turns on the cube. Crawley Juggling Festival renegade show sat night! I've seen a man drink a pint of watered-down absinthe whilst juggling 5 balls with a bucket over his head!
