  1. - Pub last night with old college friends - Surprisingly not awkward - Turns out they STILL play the card game I taught them (that my granddad invented) - Lots of offers of furniture, as I may be getting an unfurnished flat. - Car boot this morning. Bought a marx brothers book for £1.50 (haggled from £2!) and a stamp album for 10p that was called "Gay Venture". - Mate's birthday tonight. He's gay so he's getting the stamp album! - Pretty much definitely back ON with the 'ex'. So she will henceforth be known as the Artist Formerly Known As Ex. Or 'ex-ex', or 'xx' for short. LOLS! - Icky; hadn't... washed teh dolphin for two weeks. The amount of... pearly-white that was... created actually scared me a little. If you've seen Jam then you'll know what I mean. - Helped exex's dad/g'dad clear their loft. WAS A SAUNA. Heat like today PLUS attic?! - exex took me to see her pregnant friend. we had a chat first at a cafe then at her house that was pretty much entirely made up of how horrible the world is, but in a jovial, gosh-aren't-we-lucky tone. - On the way home I saw a man in a Nixon mask fondling fruit in front of a video camera. - Showered. Need to get dressed, then off for a meal and some drinkies! - Totally lost the ability to be concise and/or interesting. You puked up all the booze! That's when you decide that you have to 'top it up' and go for round two!! Random thought of the day: I think I might buy a ukelele, for shits and giggles. I'm not even much good at guitar yet but meh, they are only £20 on eBay. Whats N-Es thoughts on the ukelele? My housemates have one and it's really only like a guitar in the sense that it has strings. There are 4 sets of two strings, with the lowest note at the top rather than the bottom, and chords are a nightmare. My advice is don't get one unless you really want to learn those mumford & sons songs :P
  2. FTW.
  3. There is nothing wrong with sweet, sweet love.
  4. First page reading ftw.
  5. Cheers for the comments guys Fucking too right. Remember that 'mate's rate' shorty? You'd've thought family would be even better... Luke's new place is £290 including ALL bills -- not great living area but still effing cheap. I'm just motivated even moreso to move out and live off my 'savings' - while it would've been nice to put the money towards somethign more productive... Had an after noon around the 'ex's' surfing the web for potential properties. Basically I can get a half-decent price on a bungalow/flat (3-bedroom) for roughly £1100 in the brighton area... My day; - Afternoon at the girl's. Things are definitely more on than off. Also her parents have asked me to stay at theirs for 3 weeks towards the end of the month to 'supervise' her (eating disorder, remember?) so I have somewhere to crash for a bit, eh? - Evening at a pub with old college freinds, several of whom offered me bits of furniture should I go for the unfurnished option. - Random girl who was overhearing our conversations lent us a story about a girl who pee'd on a playstation. - Mate told me about a good job opportunity, £8 an hour working as a mental care support officer. Two mates in sheffield also recommended I look into it, so that's what I'll be researching on monday. ... so yeah. Going to a car-boot tomorrow morning (alarm set for 9am!!), and a mate's birthday (not seen him for nearly 2 years properly). - Also I bought an energy drink that came in a RESEALABLE CAN today! Made me very sticky...
  6. eeeeeuuuurggaaaaahhhhhh! yesterday I find out I'm effectively unemployed. Today my mum, knowing the situation, says she wants me to start paying rent. £400 a month. A WEEK! It only took one tiny week for her to bring up the subject. There was a sweepstakes on it in my mind and none of my brain cells thought it'd be a week. I just bought my mum a laptop for £400 as a sort of "thanks for letting me stay here while I find some feet to stand on, or whatever"... So my options now? Dunno. Fuck sake. Favourite option is to, again, bung stuff in storage and bum about at various mate's houses week by week, until i find a job. But how realistic is that? Another option is to find a place in brighton/sheffield with a 6-month contract, which my money will cover, and use that as a fuse showing how much time I have to find a job before my life explodes once more. And I can't find my shaver and my beard is getting ridiculous.
  7. Cube - now you mention it, I'm pretty dam (lol) sure that happened to me too! Sheikah - I didn't read it as if it was humour, I didn't laugh once. I read it as if the author was so excited about re-living their memories. It was far more entertaining than chunks of text.
  8. I imagine Lost will pick up a few as well, for teh road. Cranston won Best Actor (drama) last two years running I think, so I think he'll be out of it this year. The guy who plays Jesse Pinkman hasn't won best supporting actor yet and he really deserves it -- this season he really pulled it out of the bag. I've not seen/kept up with most of teh shows watched so I can't make an educated guess -- shame to see Treme not nominated for more, for casting perhaps, as that's a fantastic show. But hey - emmies.
  9. Finally finished Twin peaks -- the longest I've taken to watch a series! Greatly enjoyable and clearly made a big impression on TV. While at points it felt a little lost (mostly with season 2's erring and umming about precisely what storyline was going to drive it all, the characters are hugely memorable, the script is rarely forced and the scary bits are fucking scary. The sense of "er, wtf is going on?!" was something tricky to get used to, and you have to credit the show for manging to maintain that sense of confusion and uncertainty for as long as they did. If you've not seen it; it's a show set in a small-town community where a murder draws in the investigative skills of FBI agent Dale Cooper, who acts as the sherlock to local sheriff Harry S. Truman's (oh yes) Watson as they attempt to narrow down the potential suspects from a list of wacky residents, as the show progresses we observe a microcosm of society, with crime and love and madness rife. I suck at surmising. I'll skip this. The last episode has joined my list of favourite last episodes. Wish I knew more people who had seen it so I could be all THIS COFFEE IS THE BEST COFFEE EVERRR with them about everything. I wouldn't recommend watching it unless you have lots of spare time and a genuine interest in the evolution of TV. Or smoke a lot of weed.
  10. Dwarf, that post was pure awesome. Except for the "incrense" bit. I have no idea what that means. Sheikah, I was surprised that you unleashed like that. Shorty, beat me to it.
  11. I know, rite? I mean I've only been gone a week. Most people haven't even noticed that I've gone yet.
  12. - Bought my mum a laptop - Found out argos has decided to not transfer me - Unemployed face - TWO cheap places with mates have opened up in sheff -- one for £290 including ALL bills near where i used to live, which is a weekly contract, another for £300 including water and internet near the trendy part of town, which is a 6-month contract. I have enough money to cover either for 6 months, then all I'd need is money for food/booze/fags/etc. Argos in sheff said they'd be fine with me coming back so I could get that job again, or I could dole while job-hunting. But I only just got back to brighton and moved all my stuff. I don't know what to do at all. - Going to lagoon! That'll solve... something
  13. Cosplay at PokeCon 2039: It was clear that it was time to just give up.
  14. Do it most eye surgeries are very successful and totally worth doing. I'm just a bit bitter. Surgery is fun! People give you presents, you get to take drugs LEGALLY and then they even give you a voucher entitling you to FREE DRUGS for a few weeks. And for girls you get flowers and whatever. For boys we get hot nurses! Then afterwards you get family sympathy and time off work/school/the street. FOR GAMES!
  15. Craving does the trick! (can't think of anywhere right now...)
  16. They cut the muscles, got the eye out, sliced it open, drained the eye-fluid from behind the detached retina, froze it, put more fluid in, stitched it shut, put a silicone band on it, wedged it back in, gave me a lollipop. That's what I remember, anyway. Order might be slightly wrong. They told me it wasn't supposed to bleed the way it did. But then I had one of the top dudes in the country perform the surgery so maybe his standards are ridiculously high! Might thread rip? Broken N-Ers, unite!
  17. My left eye has a 'wrinkled' retina thanks to the way that it's effectively impossible to get such a thin bit of tissue back down the way it was in the first place, so my view of the world is distorted to the extent where it is essentially just colours and shapes. Combined with depigmentation in the peripheral of my sight, which affects both of my eyes, my visual field is shrinking slowly. I have a hard time adjusting to light changes, and have very poor contrast skills and no true sense of 3D. I pride myself on people not realising that I'm blind and deaf for ages. I shame myself at how suddenly obvious it then is to them. I'm going to have a bit of a drink tonight, I think. Do you think that even if you went private you'd be able to get all the specialists together? They need to dedicate a House episode to you. Also, do you ever think about just how little we really know about the human body? I often feel like there must be one, maybe minute, but definitely one reason why all my shit has happened to me. I can't explain it very well... but... bleh. You definitely have it worse than me. While I'm slowly falling apart in a fairly predictable and consistent manner, you seem to have a lottery of trouble added continuously at random intervals. Oh, hello forum.
  18. My eye surgery gave me DVD, which they can't fix, and has led to several eye muscle problems that I just don't give a shit about. You can live with DVD if you don't feel conscious about it. Most people don't notice it with me -- mostly because I rarely focus with my left eye at all (wow I'm so lucky) so it only really comes into play when I'm tired or focusing on things which my left eye can focus on, like text in books or on computers (which is why I got additional reading time for my exams, and a 'custom' laptop that... was just a bit dimmer than others, or something). Don't have any invasive surgery if you don't think it really bothers you. My eye haemorrhaged in surgery leading to discoloration of the whites of my eye, my pipil went wonky (still is a bit but nobody can tell) and... well actually all that was pretty cool; That was taken... a week after surgery? It's part of the reason why I'm a drunk arse most of the time. So yeah I just totally turned that one around from about you to about me -- sorryu! I just react like this when eyes are mentioned. If you have any questions about eye stuff that I might be able to help you with then please do ask. I will tell you all that I, and various wiki pages that I may steal from, know on the subject.
  19. Doshin was one of those games that I couldn't find cheaper than £20 for aaages, like Ikaruga, Resi 2 and Resi 3, so I never got it.
  20. Stumbled on this and thought you Doctor Whovians would like it; A partial map of the TARDIS. if you've not seen it/if it's not been posted in here already. I really just popped in to post this. Cheerio!
  21. I've been ID'd for a pack of Rizlas before. My mate got ID'd for a pack of matches. And I definitely have a case of 'oldface'.
  22. That 'trick', if it's the one I'm thinking of, actually works. Check out Happenstance's thread
  23. The problem with these spoof movies is that by narrowly mocking a specific type of movie, the people who normally love those types of movie (especially twilight fans) will just be all offended and think it's shit, while the people who hate twilight won't get the stupid references.
  24. I'd say more milk/cream, less sugar.
  25. Yeah I think that picture's just to help get it in the cultural consciousness, as that was only 'discovered' fairly recently, was it not?
