Insane! I was watching it around 33-all and figured "right, I'll go to the shops after this game is over. Can't be long now..." Glad I changed my mind as the shops closed at 8!! Things you could've done in the time this match has taken; Watch all three LOTR extended editions Fly to China Complete RE5 twice ... lol

Xpert 11: Season 14, Fresh Blood and Old Grudges
jayseven replied to Haden's topic in General Chit Chat
Put a bet on. Nobody has any confidence in Haden! I wasn't sure. if roo's stillnot playing then I give the game to H, mind you. Yesterday I woke up all eager to check x11... and realised the games are this friday. D'oh! My theory this year; to win the manager of the round as often as possible. I've got the weakest team, nobody will buy the players I'm selling, can't afford any new players, so I'll just grin and bear it -
When VAT went down it was rare to really see that come out in prices, but as soon as it went back to 17.5% I saw prices increase! Shops will take advantage of an increase in VAT ever more readily, and my issue with the rise in VAT is that it affects those with a lower income who are watching every penny as it is far more than it will affect those who are comfortable. The cider thing is a good bit of news for me (woo :P), will see if it really happens. However, I was watching the budget and the aftermath on telly and the chancellor made it clear that he will address duties come autumn, so I expect to see something else then. But hey, pull up our socks and get the debt sorted, I guess! No doubt a future government, in times of plenty, will bring the VAT back down.

I slept for 12 hours last night. Faaantastic Been watching the budget which, for me, had two main points; - VAT increase to 20% LOLOLOLOWTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF - Cider duty to go back down yayayayaaaabut I doubt prices will decrease at all before teh VAT hits. Makes me cry. Got a a football match to watch then going to shorty and nami's and cooking them dinnar tonight.

Steph; yeah that's what Murr posted up there -- I'm presuming there was a thread merge somewhere... Odwin; yeah, having truckers as a brief mention is a bit annoying. I loved teh bromeliad, but strangely I've actually not seen any of the live action/animated incarnations of his work at all.

Cannot wait for this show. Andrew Lincoln too?! I didn't realise that! Fantastic

My thoughts are; you shouldn't care. I'm straight and I'll be going to the pride fest in brighton this year. It's a great event that anyone would be insane to miss out on! EDIT: oh,the parent-thinks-its-wrong angle. Well either don't tell her, or get to the part where you dislike her for her archaic thinking. I suppose saying you're going to a gay pride festival will help 'creep it into her mind', as it were.

First one is fun enough, mildly kitch, but they just get worse as they trundle out the sequels and do the action-movie motions of "homaging" bullet-time/david & goliath/gymnastical feats of madness/big guns/stupid lines/predictability more and more frequently.

Kotick's wish: COD to be a subscription service tommorow
jayseven replied to Choze's topic in Other Consoles
Perhaps a weapon system something more similar to BorderlandsslashArmy Of Two, where guns themselves can be adapted to suit different purposes. Greater customisation of the appearance of each of your class dudes... Ok so everything I can think of is stuff that I'd be asking for even if it wasn't a subscription service. But when I think of a monthly fee I think of the avatar, the sense of ownership and sense of worth in a virtual world. I'm not trying to claim I know how to do that in an appealing way for CoD without it becoming detrimental to the current gameplay that is so appealing, but I'd like to see how they could transplant the guild mentality/community aspect without the game becoming factioned and the enjoyment curve being too steep. As I say, I'm not seeing this rationally, I'm dreaming of some unshaped shadow of potential, with no idea how to form it. I suppose an easier way to monetise the situation is to offer free maps every now and then, with limited-time events and one-off challenges. What is missing from MW2 is the option to browse other players' titles/emblems, and again this is something that I'd've liked whether I was subscribing or not. -

MoH looks like it is indeed cloning MW2, but no doubt a subscription-orientated game wouldn't be simply replicating the same experience as MW2 (because if it did, people would just play MW2...). I get what you're saying about activision being morons and all, but I'd like to see it attempted. A subscription-based game wouldn't be aiming to be a chart-topper- activision have Black Ops lined up to do that. Segregating what are ultimately wholely different gamestyles found in MW2 gives both areas a chance to be honed! Focused! Beautifulized, and other such endearing terms a MW2 fanboy such as I can dream about. I'm rambling. -

You must suck if you die every few seckondzzz NUBfag etc. And if you're skilled enough to get enough kills to get a chopper gunner, I don't... see what the problem is - that's hardly an exploit. I do think that the killstreaks could do with tweaking to make some of the choices more alluring rather than the majority of people going for pred/harrier/chopper gunner (prefer pavelows and minusing the pred, myself). EMPs require too many kills, but that's mostly because the game would be annoying if they were easier to get... The great thing about MW2 is that if a certain style of play becomes popular there's a style to counter it that you can assume. people running around with knives/shotguns? Claymore up, don't run around too much, keep a good distance from doorways and corners... People sniping with thermal vision, or using heartbeat sensor? Go coldblooded. Scout the perimeters. Stay in enclosed spaces. Chopper gunner or AC130 killing you every 3 seconds? Stay indoors! On Wastelands? switch to overwatch and shoot the fucker down! People taking advantage of coldblooded and pretending to be dead bodies? knife dead bodies! et cetera, et cetera. I am totally fine with people not liking the game, but to say it's broken is just stupid. Not seen any issues with silencer in game (obv. a hard thing to spot...) and had a quick perusal via google and haven't seen anyone complain about it at all... Got a link? EDIT: Just watched the last couple of mythbusters and seen a few 'broken' parts of the game that need patching :P Turrets in the pillars on underpass, being able to see the enemy team's radar if you go to teh pause menu on a killcam, and silenced M9 and MG4 show up on maps, you can survive a semtex stuck to you if you stick your head in a wall, and you can get outside of the radiation zones on wasteland and afghan... SO yeah! I'd agree tehre's plenty broken about the game. I apologise :P But having said that, in retort to emasher these exploits were hardly known when he was playing. And to sexual choc; I'd put money on them patching them soon enough -- hopefully after I get another copy of the game so I can have a go at some of them -
The Time Traveller's Wife Very, very, very, very, very, very bad. If you've read the book, that is. I'm sure it's lovely and aww and cute and whatever if you've not -- but if you have, you'll not be able to see the film for all it isn't. Just read on imdb that the film was pushed back a whole year so that Bana could re-grow his hair after Star Trek in order to reshoot some of the scenes. Lol.

Saturday; - Work. We were bombarded -- store made £3000 every 30 mins... - Drink afterwards to send off a workmate and to personally say g'bye to people who won't be in for my last shift - Missed train home by literally seconds - Met nami and shorty at the station - ninja-trumped nami - Memory card fail - Castle crashers & MW2 pwnage - nami storytelling hilarities - narutomg - "sunrise" at 4am - Walked home, saw baths and prams in the road Today so far (as yesterday was pretty much spent sleeping); - Washing up - Twin Peaks - Got Storage estimate (£50 a month, at the most) - Packed roughly 5/13 boxes - Found old drawings and CDs with no description - Currently listening to some atmospheric, moby-esque chillout and i have no idea who it is by - Completed Plants Vs. Zombies (gold trophy!). Found out it's coming to XBL. Sadface. Future today; - More washing up - More packing - Footbooooll! - Netto - Train ticket? Probably tomorrow Most of our days are banal, and I have a good habit of not making enough of a note of the truly anecdotal events of my day. I guess I'm too busy enjoying them at the time to remind myself to record why I'm having such an awesome moment.

Are you guys whining about the game because you suck at it? I've not come across any of this 'unbalanced' stuff you speak of, and I've got about 15 days of play on the game... -
It is ^_^ Wiiinnn! I'll mix up a batch tomorrow.

White elephant, I name thee; engament over. You get respect for not exploding like jordan did, and I know that was a different thing altogether, I still respect the difficulty you're going through. My day; started as having one mate who was supposed to come round for the match, ended up with four! managed to cook for all of us bolognaise and garlic bread, with salsa and crisps for starters -- made the garlic butter, made the bolognaise, made the salsa. Feel like I was on an episode of come dine with me. It went down well, but slightly annoyed that the kinder surprise for pudding went down better :P Tidied the house a little, but everyone who came round commented on the atrocity of the mess regardless. The bathroom is sick. Work called me during the match to say my shift has been changed from 9-3.15 tomorrow to 11-7. While this gives me a lie in, this fucks up my plans with shorty and nami. Hoping to have an old skool night at theirs still, with rock band/cards/naruto/settlers of catan if Dan Dare ever sees if he has other, somehow more important plans. THIS WEEK! - Box my shit - Call Ken to sort out if he can get my shit home - If not, get it in storage down the road - Buy tickets home - Make sure I've not forgotten to see anyone before i leave - Throw house party next saturday, hate anyone who doesn't come - Mates offered me a really really cheap place to live in derby, and a job. I could start monday. FUCKING HELL why now? Confused. Contemplating. I hope this isn't automerged; Chairdriver!! NO joke, my friend in brighton has the book that is all from! There's pages of that shit. Aaah... I will try to get pictures of it when I go back! It claims that only a child of 10 will be able to solve it, too, which is odd. my friend's mum owns it, and my friend owns her own house now, so it'll be a little tricky but PLEASE remind me about this, I will take pictures of every page. I used to stare at the book for hours when I was in my stoner days.

Kotick's wish: COD to be a subscription service tommorow
jayseven replied to Choze's topic in Other Consoles
I think back when they mentioned developing separate COD games at the same time, and also saying they wanted to follow in Blizzard's footsteps, they made it clear that this was teh direction they were going. Definitely a cash-cow in the making. And it is a shame because MW2 is the game that got me into actually using my Live account. If I had to pay an extra subscription on top of the XBL there's no way I'd've played MW2. Having said that, a new game focusing on delivering a (care) package worth paying for would surely be designed a weeee bit differently to MW2's online mode. Damn you, commercialism! -
Poor mundi, getting no thanks for actually making the joke far too subtly :P

I bought my dad Breaking Bad s01 on dvd last week via amazon, no idea if he's received it as he's not said anything. Usually we don't do anything for father's day.

Happy birthday statto You always remind me of days of lore. Why did you change your name?

Lucky for some. Definitely improved on the last episode - hard-stretched to say if it's your best yet, but I have to commend your persistence. Glad to see you've messing with your 'formula' and being a bit more inventive, and I definitely nearly lol'd a few times. As EEVIL says tehre are still moments of unnecessary pause - I'd prefer to be half-way into the next gag before I'm 'over' the previous, rather than being allocated time for the joke to sink in. Various notes; - Calculator one had much more potential, way too predictable. - Spent more time with wu-man admiring your timing, and didn't hear the joke. I still don't 'get' that character. - "Food you can fuck" would be better without the intro. In fact, it gave me an idea -- in between each segment have a second-long thing, like the sausage flying through the onion ring, then at the end of the episode close with a sentance that is actually the 'theme' of all the in-between-segment-things, different each time! lots of effort, i suppose. - NO OUTTAKES I WANT MY OUTTAKES
