  1. Stuwii - tip for the future; you don't need to begin a thread with "post your tips on... in here". People will understand that from the title. Anyway, there's google and there's NHS direct for us brits. But thanks for telling us about your ass. Now I will sit back and let the clamour and debris make their noise.
  2. My mate told me something about a MK remake (rebirth!) and I jizzed a little. After watching that I jizzed so hard that my jizz jizzed in ITS pants! Not surprising to see it come along seeing as warner bros picked up the IP, and glad to see a different focus than we saw with the previous films on liu kang et al. The soundtrack of the original was kick-ass -- they have to at least have the KMFDM song playing during the credits.
  3. nightwolf - cheers, yeah I need to have a chat with him about it. He does have the habit of 'knowing' a lot of people. Wallking around town with him or going out with him is annoying because he keeps stopping to talk to people who he met once at a rave and-- oh wait, pretty sure I went over that. Well yeah. I'll meet up with them for a drink to see how they are, I guess. And regarding the drinks over summer -- of course! I'm always up for a drink My current 'plan' is to spend at least part of my summer here and part in brighton regardless of where I end up living. As for my day; - Went into town to see if poundland had anything interesting. It did not. - On the way I walked past a cute girl who made eyes -- that means she either found my face amusing or- ok yah that would be it - On the way back we crossed paths at exactly the same place going exactly the opposite way. Glances of bemusement were exchanged. - I have a 'first time do nothing, second time say something' rule. Crossing my fingers the same thing happens with her again. - Fantasies, eh? - I watched stuff I downloaded - I had pizza - Cider - et fuckin' c.
  4. Awesome I do love these. I think The Times has one each day, and my ex sends me a picture of it whenever she buys one. The two that are left are obv. the most lateral, and both appeared in a pub quiz I do. Number 4 titled the pictures of five (in)famous people. It's a one-word 'job', if you will. Number 1 I disagreed about with the quizmaster, for really there are at least 4 interpretations, so I may as well say it; the answer was Pile 'em up, while I thought it could've been stick 'em up, stack 'em up, etc. Anyone got any others? I'll put some more up tomorrow.
  5. I got it shortly after I posted actually. Only just gotten to the 2nd one on Hard, and stuck again, but will persevere!
  6. If you're anorexic the NHS can fund much of the treatmen, similar to extreme cases of obesity where the medical care called into debate in the OP comes into play. Besides, anorexia is a psychological issue and 'just eat more' is an incredibly narrow answer to a complex problem. Psychiatric help is available on the NHS. So yes, in a sense, the NHS pays for anorexics to get better. The NHS also offers drug treatments and again counselling for alcohol abusers, again for free. This is precisely what the NHS is here for -- to help people (i.e. the nation's workforce/source of income) get better. Essentially, if an incentive scheme would actually work for some people, then it saves the NHS money in the long run as well as, theoretically, helping to maintain a longer-living workforce who will pay more taxes. I don't really see how this subsidises any negative lifestyle in anyway whatsoever, either. How do you see that?
  7. ^ stuck on "._Range" at the moment. Will keep that open in the background Moogle; correct! I pinched that one from a puzzledonkey.
  8. 1 is a wrong guess, but 4 is along the right lines.
  9. Yes to both I was worried with 5, but was willing to accept
  10. ... Ok :P check the playground!
  11. I've included a small variety of different types of these swys to start us off. Put your answers/guesses in spoiler tags to allow others to have a go too!
  12. HALLO AGIN! Well I thought there was a proper Download thread but I couldn't find it. There is a Festivals 2010! thread, and it's only two pages long, and you're welcome to resurrect it, and if there's enough Download chatter I'll rip it a new thread for ya. Audioslave's first album is the only one of theirs that clicked with me. Loads of good tracks on it. The lyrics were what got me the first time around.
  13. I was going to make a thread for these say-what-you-see things but I cba.
  14. comic book fred
  15. Sorry dan, I've ignored this once already. I can't do it again.
  16. In a minute I'm actually going to GET OUT OF BED and totally DO STUFF. I'm bored to debt right now, so town here I come. HALLO MURR!
  17. Well some of my players seem to react less to each subsequent training session so sometimes when I'm down on the dosh (always) I'd try and see which player the gamble'd work best with Oh, and yeah I agree I think Eddage has the trophy for our league unless something incredible happens!
  18. Foxes keep our hobo population in check by monopolizing the food source, and hobos know how to open doors. Think of the babies!
  19. New show Persons Unknown started in the US last night, just watched teh first episode. It's one of those "what the hell's going on?!" type shows that wants to take some of Lost's fans and give them a warm, soothing bath and whisper "it's ok, shhh...." in their ear. This introductory episode can be summarised fairly easily; bunch of varied people wake up in a ghost town that they can't leave where nobody knows what is happening. Starring a-bunch-of-familiar-yet-unnameable-faces who all act as if they've only been given a one-line bio of their character (which may've been true anyway). I guess the idea is that we, the audience, gets to know the characters as they get to know each other, but they're pushing the paranoid trust-noone tone too much, and the camerawork profoundly annoyed me throughout because the show's premise deserves thoughtful, intelligent shots rather than the constant cutting/handheld 'action' style they've gone with. However, I'd say this offers more hope than Harper's Island, and it hasn't played too big a card in its first episode a lá Flashforward. Definitely worth adding to my weekly roster. Also! Breaking Bad's s03 e12 proves once again the shows pedigree -- it is simply the most stunning thing on tv -- I mean that in the sense that shit happens that paralyses you emotionally, which pajchair so often only allude to. This season I thought we were going to have a slow-burning, Duel-esque stalking of the prey, instead we're seeing that Walt's is still one long breaking point. MAD!
  20. DuD: fantastic win for you there. I'd say you'd be better off going for a bit of dev. against shorty and seeing how the league looks before thinking/worrying about what to do against Mcoy. Kinda wishing I had VIP again. It was so useful -- especially with player form graphs. Currently most of my players' forms seem to go from one extreme to the other. Fingers crossed my 20 4 defender (who scored two goals today!) gets a +2 at the least. He's played nearly every game at 6/7 skill as it is, and his development value is 17. My 'awesome' keeper's had a bit of a dodgy season. I think he's on the turn, so I may just actually sell him and invest in someone who is awesome, but without the apostrophes. Going to consider getting an official team again. I don't really know why I stopped. I guess it never really felt like my team. If we had longer seasons, would our players get more time for development, or is the amount of development set to a max per season, if you know what I mean?
  21. It's always a treat when you see a fox in town. Usually they're half-way down the street crossing the road, turning to look at you like that wolf in Collateral. One time I was walking towards my house in Brighton after a nightbus back from town. A short way ahead of me was a fox, who'd just run out from an alley. He didn't seem to spot me, instead just trotted the same way I was going in that casual-rushed way that foxes run - like someone who's running late but doesn't like actually running in front of people. Well anyway, we're approaching my house and I've gained on the fox -- and it stops and sees me, so I stop as well... then it turns into my garden path. I was barely seconds behind it but when I got to my garden I couldn't see it, and now whenever I walk home at night I always think some fox will be sitting there, waiting for me. Probably to eat me. Wow, I made a meal of that 'story'.
  22. You just got bottom-of-the-bottom fever, or is this a permenant (sexualol) position you've taken up? Looks like Fish and D-t-d are potential noobs, then! PM the football lovers too! Go go go! Ra!
  23. Sign me up for teh lolz plz? I has MS PAINT NOW!!!!! And a cable for my cameraphone, so I can play! LET ME PLAY OR I MOD YOU
  24. - turns out that apparantly there's some scavvy 14 year old kid that has been frequently passing by our house just to steal the fag-ends I throw away when I smoke. he's been suspected in teh past, but today my housemate witnessed the kid rife through the disposed butts, compile a 'best of' rollie and then proceed to wait RIGHT BY MY FRONT DOOR with it, presumably for me to go out for a cigarette as he didn't have a lighter. If you'd seen my front door you'd know how weird/creepy it'd be if he just waited outside. Just hte other side of teh wall. ugh! My current sheffield/brighton 'drama' (that only I care about) has shifted towards staying in sheff. A mate, who is autistic and frankly stressful to be around for prolongued periods of time, has said he needs a place in sheff at the same time as me -- so i was all "yay, two-bed flat, cool, sweet, a return to form - familiar and friendly settings" etc, etc... then i get a text from him the other day saying, effectively, he's bumped into to random people that he once met at a rave, and they wany somehwere new to live, so he's assumed I'm cool with it and has told them all about me and our POSSIBLE plan to move in/look for a place. Then TONIGHT I get a text saying tomorrow night we're all meeting to discuss housing options. I'm all WTF as I just spent a year living with strangers and tbh I just want to sit in my room and be comfortable SO FUCK YOU STRANGERS! I also spent the day watching Kenny Vs. Spenny s06, the last ep of Breaking Bad (s03e12 -- Sooo good -- good enough, in fact, for me to go straight on amazon and order a copy of the first season to be sent to my dad as he HAS to watch it. YOU ALL DO. It's too good at the shocking drama), and now working my way through s01 of True Blood before finally succumbing to the night. Got up at 7am this morning after 3 hours sleep so I've been pushing it all day TEE ELL DEE ARR: Your mother prefers it to-the-point, too.
  25. No shitting you - I actually guessed right :P It's like when someone says "OMG GUESS HOW MUCH THIS COST!!!" ... you're set to give some sort of extreme answer. But I didn't actually know that --- pretty epic
