My sister made up a joke when she was like 5. How long's a gun? A KILLERmetre! ¬__¬

Duh. Well tonight I'm going to a murder mystery dinner party organised by my mates - they've printed out booklets and are providing three courses of posh grub (8oz ribeye steak for the main, :P) and wine and champagne. Paid £15 for it, but surely worth it. My character is Horatio Cunningham, rear-admiral (have your lols), but due to financial crisis I can't afford to dress up proper. However I've got suited up with a large overcoat and a bowler hat. I may look more like a bank manager, but hey. As for the MAIN EVENT tomorrow night, I'm training up to London to a mate's bedsit, where 4-5 of us are going to get mega drunk and play nerdy games like catan, Go, chess, fluxx, blockus, and probably try to set up a game of drinking battleship. Mates in brighton are going out, because they're insane and made of money. I can't even remember what I did last NYE. Anyone got plans?

Turns out I have £10 in my account 'til my birthday. Luckily I'm stocked up on everything, I can last just a shame! Roll on jobtiem.

I bet your parents are. (jokes :P)

Just to add, I've not appeared since dayphase 1 write-up, as far as I can tell, hence my lack of info (as I can only draw from that, anyway).

I'm considering doing a Star Trek themed one at some point. I know it's geeky, but there's a rich universe ready to go with all sorts of races and allegiances. I'd probably not be very accurate to the lore -- but then I think mafias are best when there is little external info to help shade the characters.

Pretty sure my girlfriend has that jacket. And that phone. Wait a sec--

I've not given it much more thought - I tend to think more and more about it as the time arrives to do it, and then hash together a 'structure' a couple of days beforehand. Which is why it's always such a bloody mess.

Ja mon! I was down from xmas eve 'til a couple of days ago. my sister lives like 2 mins from the train station. I shall be back down in just over a week for my birthday. Where do you work? I may attempt to sneak in and spy on you.

Inspired by the buying-stuff thread, and in fear of thripping, I thought I'd pose the question myself. What do you think of DVD extras? Does the content sway your purchasing choice? I have no cents of my own yet.

Nothing new from me, folks.

I'm doing an apocalyptical game btw :P

in that case, sorry if I offended you I very much prescribe to the school of thought that was mentioned in the post above yours; we've been blessed with a console runtime that seems to be twice as long as previous generations. My favourite console before the 360 was the N64 - it produced so many gems that, while the PS was big-mouthing its thousand-game catalogue, managed to provide a higher standard of consistency. However, this generation really pushed gaming into the nation's living rooms while at the same time encouraging a higher standard for sequels and really utilising the tool that is online gaming. Smallware games have been given a larger platform to launch from with PSN, wiiware and xbla, and generally I think it's an exciting time to be a gamer. One question we've not considered; having three big console manufacturers, admittedly for the third time, has really driven each one to consider their role and play to it. AND STUFF> WORDS ASOFHOSIFH

Thanks danny. Thanks.

Caught the end of the NY one - the race was thrilling to watch. The iraq/bethlehem one was... meh. Started well and ended well, but the desert scene was so poor and so annoying and so unfunny that I was unable to laugh at any subsequent scene. Racing convertables across a rocky desert? They are constantly fighting complaints of scripting, so they do something that is completely obvious and dull. Meh. It was one of two things i was looking forward to (motd was the other) and after a day of the tv blaring constant soap operas at me... bleh.

Despite the draw I just wanted to say; that's right bitch, I guessed your formation. I didn't pick the best counter-formation, but I guessed yours nonetheless! Possession/shots went my way. I think not having my freekick specialists on the field made a difference - and ReZ's home advantage would've swayed it. I gotta be glad for 4 pts out of 6 against him.

Complementing people is a rather grand thing to aim for. Is daft brooding? Does he want a lady friend? Or... did he just sperror... ANYWAIS. I should probably drink less. I have it all rationalised. I'll be starting my (voluntary) jobs mid-jan, so getajob is being dealt with. Ish. Booze intake will go down as responsibility goes up. I think. I'm not good at resolving myself/revolving myself. As to what I hope to achieve this next year; - Have a holiday (not had one since Italy 3 and a half years ago) - Make a bird table - Get my own place

I am up for doing a mini-meet anywhere, bear. Specifically; I'd love to host a South England meet in Brighton as this place rocks your socks, but that can be for another day! Just tell me where and when (I know, you kinda have already...) and I'll be there!

One of the haunting memories I have is when I was the captain of the cub scouts football 5-a-side B-team during a tournament. Our keeper got sent off, so I went in goal for a penalty. I dived teh right way, even got a finger to it -- but it still went in. It's a bizarre thing to haunt me but it does. I even saved another penalty in the next match - from my school's 'best' footballer who went to a different cub scout group. I regret taking the course I did for uni. I regret not being a better friend to... well, all my friends. I'm very bad at keeping in touch with anyone. I regret leaving sheffield as soon as I did, but then things down in Brighton haven't been all bad. It's hard to regret things when you're happy with where you are.
