  1. Fuck you N-E! EVERY YEAR YOU STEAL MY BIrTHDAY GLORY. yeah that's right! You get a lower-case r. Fuck you.
  2. Actually, consider companies that distribute their own wares on the highstreet - sony shop, bbc shop, disney shop... they tend to actually have higher prices for their wares. The idea is that they offer a wider range of their products than other stores while also offering specialised customer service - but if they were to undercut their distributors, then their distributors would simply refuse to stock their wares. It's pretty silly, really, but it's similar online - direct from bbc's store is more expensive in most cases than ordering from play or amazon. I heard on the radio that it's mostly waterstones that'll be taking the brunt of this '60 store closure' figure, which actually bothers me far more. I don't mind about the condition of my games/dvds because largely they are of a decent standard even second hand. Books, however, are a bit more finicky, especially second hand. Books offer a different purpose mind you - most books are bought (just a guess) as people are setting off for their jouneys, on trains and mostly at airports. What would suck would be if WH Smiths ends up with a high-street monopoly on books, because they're shit. RE: Topic; I don't care. Internet ftw. HMV in brighton won't be closing as it's (probably) one of their flagship stores. Similar to the sheffield one - they are monopolising the market there and that store specifically is unlikely to be contributing to the losses... losses of profit. They still made 40-60m PROFIT ffs. Not like they're going bankrupt or anything. Fatty bastards.
  3. Once at a 'spoons I ordered teh deluxed beer-and-a-burger, doubled up. The meat was really dry, I'd been waiting over an hour for the food. I munched at one of the patties unconvincingly, ate a couple of onion rings and a few chips, then decided to take it back. They gave me a free pint and dished up another deluxe beer-and-burger doubled up. Much nicer this time. Probably all that phlegm in it.
  4. Thankyouverymuch for the messages My ego hopes that people were just put off by it being a ReZ thread... :P I spent the day in bournemouth, kinda against my wishes, with family; mum, sister, her husband, their baby, my girlfriend and my cousins and uncle who live in australia. I woke up and opened my presents - a tshirt and calendar from mum, two shirts from sister and a hoodie and two tickets to see Vernon God Little performed in london next month (woo!). Then amidst the rain we eventually went and had lunch at pizza express after I spent money my uncle gave me on Fallout: New Vegas, then went to a ceramic coffee shop where I painted an ash-tray, which will be baked and ready next week. Only had two cans of cider and a pint of beer. Pretty standard fare. Will make up for it tonight. I'm supposed to sort some sort of pub thing out tonight but i really can't be bothered. Was astounded by teh general birthday wishes on here/textytext/facebook. Madness.
  5. Phew! Glad it's changed back. I kept forgetting my elongated username and thus failing the 5-pass guess limit while I was away from my laptop. Could never be arsed to wait 15 mins either.
  6. Slightly raging at your last-minute topping of my tally :P Forgive me but I've been travelling about for a couple of weeks - will do a score when I feel more energised. I will score it! :P
  7. I set tactics fo 4-2-4 for my game. It shut my damn assistant coach up... but also reminded my why he's assistant coach. $ attempts to his 0 and three of my four strikers played a platry 2-skilled match. All of my defence played out of their boots. My dev values are alright. I have 3 8's, 2 9's and the rest are 10-15 (aside from the dude retiring and my reserve keeper that I've given up on). I've definitely bitten off more than I can chew with three young forwards. Sigh. Youd've thought I would've learned in one of the, what, 10 seasons I've been playing this?
  8. Happy Birthday Mike1988uk! Your subtle hints have provided you with this free thread! Enjoy your football match, I hope you have a day better than your chess skills
  9. Happy day-after-your-Birthday!
  10. Whaaa the ep where they hit warp 10 was great fun! Not up to the standard of later eps, but I was all O O ___ <<<< floor
  11. The show didn't say that it wasn't possible, just that you'd occupy every point of space between a and b when you use it, didn't they?
  12. Serebii; shh. Dannyboy; the spaceship firefights, where the millenium falcon is pursued by tie fighters and is darting about -- with no air resistence the banking that the falcon does is not actually possible. There are certainly theories for that style of movement in space (look at how star trek's impulse engines, which work with spherical movement unlike typical engines which propel in one direction. I'm no good at describing this properly I'm afraid!
  13. Actually the question posed was "breating in space without a helmet?" and the fact provided was that of over 500 planets found and examined, none so far have the atmosphere needed for us to breathe unaided. It wasn't a serious criticism, just a montage of moments from the movie where someone has no helmet on. The star wars 'red baron' style flying was interesting to hear debunked.
  14. Yeah I'm watching it It's great fun. Brian Cox is a legend.
  15. ... I just set the craziest tactics ever. I decided to simply play everyone in my squad that my assistant reckons needs more gameplay. Hilarity ensues!
  16. Moogle; I believe they can fully replace the physical addiction of nicotine, as do inhalers, gum, patches, etc. They also attempt to replicate the action of smoking as it's also pretty hard to quit when you've spent years acting out such behaviour, which is something gum and patches don't do as well. The taste of a cigarette, while many would argue is unpleasant, is something a smoker will miss as well -- the taste, unfortunately, is pretty much the reason why smoking is bad for you. A friend of mine tried herbal cigarettes for a while, mainly because he primarily smoked when he was getting high and wanted a healthier replacement. I had a few rollies with it and it was pretty 'meh' -- it had no nicotine as far as I'm aware so it did nothing at all, but I also couldn't 'feel' that i was smoking. Good luck to you and your quitting!
  17. Should two protectors/jailkeeps openly be saying who they'll be targetting? Gives the mafia too much to work on, and gives you, mr-paul, a shade of suspicion.
  18. Well he doesn't know yet, does he? Which kind did you get - the inhalators or the ones that look/act like cigarettes? My dad has one of those, as does a friend. The end lights up when you inhale and you breathe out some water vapour that gives a realisting impression of smoking. From a distance it looks like a real cigarette... which only serves to make people think you've actually lit up indoors, for example, so they give you stares of contempt and staff are likely to come up to you and threaten you before you have to reason with them. Time and time again. A friend got one for xmas, and he said that one cartridge is equivolent to 20 cigarettes before it needs replacing. The benefit is that you can just pull it out and have a few tokes when you want, rather than feeling like you have to smoke the whole of a cigarette, and also you can still pop outside with smoking friends and take part in that ol' ritual. However I've not tried them first-hand, but I'm sure they're a good tool to help you quit so long as you have the willpower, and all that.
  19. All seems to fit. Zell's not the killer we're after.
  20. Zell; who have your targets been?
  21. You only appear twice in the write-ups as far as i can see; the formiddable pirate that the crusty sailor, ell, was looking for on night 3, and night 5 "The formidable pirate was not interested in unwelcome guests tonight but luckily no one tried to disturb his peace." Who have your targets been?
  22. I think that above point is probably true. Nintendohnut as I said I'm just raising the awareness that we have a limited list of who the killer is -- but if the description-switcher is true then, of course, it all goes out the window!! My priorities are those who have not role-called - Fish, Zell, ReZ, Tales. I am waiting on Peeps to send confirmation -- I don't have send PMs saved but luckily Peeps replied to a couple of my targets - two of which were to tell me the info I recieved on them as I was not targetted those nights, another night I sent him a PM to verify which target I had picked, but over xmas/nye I had sent peeps a couple of targets i.e. "[x] will be my target this night, [y] on this night, but if [x] is killed before the night starts then target [y], then target [z] the next night, however if either [y] or [z] are dead then target [a]." I'm fairly sure Rummy was my target simply because I have a memory of him being [x]! But as I say, I am waiting for Peeps to come online and give me confirmation.
  23. Ooooooh! Last-minute contenderrr! I may have to rush out and BISH myself up as a safety precaution As a reminder, I will be away for the deadline, but please refrain from posting after it as it's just not fair. We've had a month to do our submissions (too long. Next time will be shorter!).
  24. No! Poseurs have always been around with their trucker hats and aviator sunglasses. Different social stratas.
  25. If we are to believe everyone, then it is either tales or aqui1a then! remove vote for now. Apologies -- In response to the above question to me; my role is a pretty passive one, yet if it appeared in the write up it would effectively tell me who is most likely a mafia and who definitely isn't, which would be too powerful, is I'm sure Smeagol's reasoning.
