I just stumbled onto this vid; I totally don't remember it happening, but man, Hart can run! Can't find the video in english, so put up with the "Allah van der saar!" stuff. The music was an added bonus, tbf.

Lol. He looks like such a douche.

Moogle; the dude shorty and dan are talking about was extreeeemely careful about his calorie intake. He was it all worked out, and if he had a big drinking night he'd typically have spent the previous week allowing for it. And yeah he stuck with whiskey and coke most of the time (except at corp, which had an excellent quad-vodka and mixer price of £2!).

Any such 'official' shift... I have no idea about I've literally only clued up based on the vid/link I posted so I have no clue whether the twats are actually re-tailoring it all to fake their way to more money.

IIRC, for the ENTIRE post; There was never a third season expected. They knew fairly early on during season 2 that they'd not get renewed. David Lynch only properly directed a few of the eps, and his ones usually covered teh seriously twisted bits - the dreamscapes, for example. You started this before me and ended after me. These sentances aren't necessarily related, just ebbs of thought. What I loved most was how the music was so seminal yet ridiculous. It helped reinforce the series' dark humour. The storyline was never solid or truly the focus of the show, it was mostly about the characters and the scripts and the general tone. lynch is fantastic at forcing you to feel and emotion - he does it best when he makes you aware you're watching a show. I think the ending was horrible yet totally apt, and is in my top 5 series endings of all time. You're left wanting more yet you totally understand the direction chosen. I forget everything else I wanted to say. If you have an xbox and love the show then buy Deadly Premonition. It's the greatest nod to the show on earth. I've not yet seen the film, which I hear is a sort of prequel thing. If you're stuck for what to watch next then The Prisoner is an excellent choice - only 6 episodes long yet it maintains a dreamlike feel throughout, and is fairly consistent with the paranoia tone.

No, that's not true, it affects anyone born for the last few dozen decades, I think. The fact that the 'starsigns' are in constant shift is enough alone to put an end to the constant character determination that horoscopes give. There are so many people out there that make a fucking living off of telling horoscopes, and this is surely conclusive evidence enough to show them up for the fraudsters they are. Mystic Meg? Go fuck a duck!

Happy day of blood and tears, Jimbur! 24 is a totally fine and acceptible age to be.

A pint of guiness has fewer calories than a pint of orange juice. Trivial Pursuit fact ftw. yeah, any good pub will have diet coke. Funnily enough I was thinking this exact thing earlier- my conclusion was the same as everyone's here - spirits are the way forward! my beer belly may be thankful, but I'm sure my liver'd have a few words to say.

Mad Monkey; can I ask how it happened? I mean, was it his fault or someone elses? I've never lost a friend, just came close a few times. I couldn't imagine it.

Relevance?

I'm now a saggitarius, my dad's starsign. I know we're supposed to turn into our parents but I think acquiring his starsign is a bit extreme!

I like to say I've not had the same haircut twice in the last 5 years. Plenty of mistakes in there, but never anything I've been ashamed of. The hairdresser got to the bit where my fringe needed cutting and I went "OBJECTION!!" and thought it looked ace. I paid £20 for half a haircut. It was quite fun. I supposed I was in some sort of 'ironic' phase unwittingly. usually it's my beard that gets unruly. Edit: lol avatar pose

Yeah and I said I'd sign up to that too :P

Yup. I will be showing this to my mother at the next opportunity. IT WILL DESTROY THE WORLD AS SHE KNOWS IT!

Yeah, 'other means' :P Truth be told I've only seen the first 6 episodes. I was into the whole drug culture thing, and a post-katrina scenario simply doesn't interest me as much -- but I'll still watch the show. Boardwalk Empire is supposed to offer a kindling experience, but I'm waiting on that one, too. The Wire survived becaused essentially it was either going to be one season long or five from the start. I've recently bought The Corner[/b - one of two books (I think) written by the writers who brought us [b]The Wire, and I'm finding my fix there. I would seriously recommend Breaking Bad as a follow-up to The Wire. Similar in theme only because both deal with drugs, but BB is pretty much the most overlooked show that is still airing (next season starts in sept I think?). Treme is great if you're into your music, and offers Treméndous relationship construction... But it's not as gritty or as grabbing as The Wire.
-
Treme is quite different, just to warn you. 5, to me, felt more like a 'building block' season rather than a finale. Critics can go on and on about how the wire exceeds, nay, destroys archetypical story structures... but frankly I'm the motherfuckin' audience here, and if I say it seems weird then it's weird. I really enjoyed the newspaper stuff and the politics stuff but because the newspaper stuff was basically never mentioned up 'til that season it bugged me. It's why a lot of people don't rate season 2 -- generally speaking those characters and what goes on there are largely irrelevant to the corner (not completely, of course) - and season 5 did pretty much the same thing except at a higher level, from a different perspective. I think the show lends well to repeated viewings [sic] so that you can ignore this bias that I mention and instead just see each season as a separate jigsaw piece. For me, they aren't all equally jigsaw pieces. Some seasons contain more pieces than others. All are good! In a sense, 2 and 5 left me demanding more, which is, in a way, why I was actually left a bit dissatisfied by the ultimate series finalé. Tbf it's been nearly 2 years since I watched the show, but these are my memories. I should go back and watch it again.
