I think that's the point though, there's no problem with the "48 beautifully designed tracks" or the amount of characters and kart combinations, the great sense of balance and excellent control coupled with the fantastic gameplay all lavishly presented in HD with a stunning soundtrack. : peace: All of the above is fantastic... it's just the things which Mario Kart 8 lacks which this Switch version could potentially add if it is essentially going to be an enhanced version of Mario Kart 8, just as well to add in what people have wanted all along surely? A proper Battle Mode taking elements from Mario Kart 64 & Double Dash!! Challenge Mode from Mario Kart DS but expanded, similar to the mode in Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing perhaps but better. Online which is streamlined and has all the options you'd expect It's not that much to ask, surely?

I promise I haven't been ignoring you, just that Friday and Saturday on a working week, I don't get back until waayyyy late. But today I would love to butcher monsters with you this evening Glen. Also it just so happens that this is now my week off work so I'm sure I can hunt on some week-day evenings as well, though Friday evening I'll likely be playing some NES games for MadDog Marathon (I haven't fully decided on times but will be posting in the thread about it in a moment) and depending on how it all goes I could well be playing NES games for a lot of Saturday but I may well be free that evening. : peace: Anyway, tonight though probably from 7PM... ish...? Will keep you posted but definitely put me down for it, plus that November DLC... just when I think I've taken a break from Monster Hunter, they keep pulling me back in! :awesome:

For me the main game installed with no problems (Xbox One version) but the Modern Warfare Remastered install is taking a while, I'm going to just leave the console on and hope its installed sometime today. Currently at 25% but who knows, it might be quicker now. The main game isn't bad, only played the first mission or so though, I usually play on the hardest difficulty but after that joke of a timed section that was at the end of the intro mission I just decided to play it on the second one instead.

Thank you! I ordered two copies for home delivery, worth it for that price and to have that physical collection.

@nightwolf, @EEVILMURRAY, @Goafer... I'm sorry to hear that you've all been having a really rough time of it. I wish there was more I could say or do but if you need to talk then just give me a shout but in the meantime I'm sending you all good vibes and positive thoughts. It's not much but it's the best I've got at the moment, take care. : peace:

Is it cool if my bro joins in tonight playing on the same Wii U as me? Seeing as we likely will have low numbers anyway and nobody is really counting score so... : peace:

Last minute prediction? Original Animal Crossing N64 version (before it got turned into the GC game) made available on the Wii U VC... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ^Obviously that didn't happen... ...but still, Animal Crossing Puzzle League?!? Sign me up for that!
-
I'm going to be downloading it one way or another from the eShop, we might get a code for it... (it's about time, right Nintendo?) I also own it on the N64 and on the Wii VC but I need to own it on the Wii U VC for updated review purposes plus I want to play it again. But I do hear you on the updating policy as it is something they have changed for several VC releases where they have added extra features in the past so part of me hopes that we might get stuff like the track editor added at a later date as a Switch VC release, then again though I'm also hoping that the entire contents of the Wii U plus maybe 3DS VC titles carries over to the Switch so that you don't have to buy the game again, maybe just pay for extra additional content (like the track editor) by way of a nominal amount or pay with points via the My Nintendo website. : peace:

I'm an optimistic pessimist... ...or a pessimistic optimist. It depends on your outlook.

You're most welcome and thank you, it was fun hunting as always. Yeah, two big monsters at a time in a confined space, jumping on their backs, busting a combo in their face... it's just how we roll... :awesome: ...to avoid attacks, then come back with a gap in the pattern, the monsters on the floor and it gets a... battering. :awesome: Then down came that Duramboros as you got flattened, and of course I was thinking to myself... "Well that happened!" :p But we carved 'em all up good, 'cos you know we aint' messin', get a heal on that wound because that really needs addressin', alltogether though we got the moves as we we're pretty nifty, all in an evenings work, grinding up to level fifty! Until next time when I get to fight alongside the best, the one and only player, the Selector of Quests! : peace: We should totally form a Monster Hunter rap group or something...
-
Sure I'll hunt with you, just going to grab a hot drink and I'll be there, sort of around 10PM. : peace:

Do you know, I'd almost completely forgotten about that. Now that could do with a VC release.

Nothing in particular, working until 7, hopefully home just after 8 and then I'll be watching this... Murder Party by Jeremy Saulnier as I'd recently watched his other two films, Blue Ruin and Green Room so I wanted to find out what his first film's like. It just so happens to be set at Halloween time as well, so I figured it'd be perfect. I may also play some Resident Evil or something as well, see how the evening goes. : peace:

Nice to see the series coming back to a Nintendo platform once again... ...though it has been on just about every other format over the years as well. I love the fact that the SNES game got a release on the Wii U VC a couple of years ago, I knew of the series before but I hadn't really played it until then.

This just keeps getting better with each new area revealed... Tails & Knuckles gameplay as well, worth watching.

For what it's worth, I've always thought that you are good at it, to the point that I'd find it quite inspirational on some level; sometimes hearing someone's positive outlook on themself can have a positive effect on those around them, so long as it comes across as genuine love and not too much on the side of narcissism... (it can be a fine line sometimes but I think yours is the former rather than the latter, anyway I'm not judging either way just trying to provide some perspective) But yeah, the spirals of doubt... those thoughts and dialogues which can play out in the mind until you mentally hit an all time low and feel like having a meltdown? I can relate to that, maybe not in the same way but on some level... I have Asperger Syndrome (I've probably mentioned it before here and there, I lose track) so I'm used to abstract thought processes and developing "coping mechanisms" as I like to call them, it's not always easy though. Perhaps your own diagnosis is correct, perhaps not, it's not for me to say either way... ultimately you know your own mind best though, I wouldn't say that you're belittling anyone though, at least you're trying to explain how you feel which is good as it can help. I follow you though, sometimes it's difficult to stop these spiralling thought processes and you've just got to ride it out, I hope things even themselves out for you soon though and if you want/need to talk/vent then I'm/we're here.

Not to sound all "me too!" but I feel like that quite often at times. It can be difficult to let it out even if you want to. Sometimes I suppose it's easier to hate being one's self than to love one's self. Often I hear that advice about... "If you want to love then first you must learn to love yourself..." but then I think, that might be easy for someone to say if they've only known how to love themselves but never to hate. Surely it's better to have a balance? If you love who you are sometimes but other times you hate yourself then surely you'll appreciate those days of love all the more... Anyway, I just kind of started typing there and that happened! I don't know if I can call it good or bad advice, more ramblings I suppose but if it helped then I'm glad, if not then... I tried. In any case, you're great! You don't need me to tell you that but I did anyway, so there! :p

You're completely right, as I was writing 30% I was thinking more like 50% but then I thought about the current My Nintendo discounts... :p But yeah, Nintendo shouldn't be limited by their initial lacklustre offerings with that new service, they should be looking to improve and gain more potential customers so yes... 50% off or more would be better. I've just thought of something else that could be interesting, assuming that both versions do have amiibo functionality then I bet there will be a way in which the data from your Wolf Link amiibo which saves from the Wii U version of Twilight Princess HD will be able to carry over to not just the Wii U version of Breath of the Wild but surely the Switch version as well, now that's not a bad selling point!

On the day that the Switch was revealed, my gut reaction to the price was around the £300 mark as I really wouldn't be surprised if it cost that for just the machine as we've not really seen tech on this level before, Nintendo really are looking to switch it up this time it seems. With regards to backwards compatability, so long as they manage to move across the entire Virtual Console Library, letting you access for free what you've already paid for on your My Nintendo account/NNID by replacing the old versions with the presumably newly emulated and improved versions, plus maybe port across some of the more successful Wii U titles then I'm happy. Everything else can just be a continutation plus as I said before in the MH Direct thread, I still expect the Wii U to be supported at least digitally for a while yet, so what if buying a Virtual Console game which is both new to the Switch and the Wii U comes out? For arguements sake let's say that it launches with Mother 3... you pay for it and then it's on your NNID so it then becomes a little bit like building up a Plus library or Cross-buy so that let's say you're not getting a Switch right away but still want to buy stuff on your Wii U then you'd have your VC game on the older console but they you have the newly emulated versions with possibly extra features waiting for when you decide to make the switch. It would also be a nice gesture, for anyone who buys The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild digitally on the Wii U to be given a discount of say... 30% off for a limited time (perhaps within the first six months) on the Switch version which might help to entice people, I say discount instead of cross-buy in this case because they both seem to have version exclusive features going by what we already know. The Wii U version will offer that dual-screen setup plus amiibo - presumably the Switch can use amiibo as well but not 100% confirmed - while the Switch will hopefully offer a resolution bump and no need for any disguised loading screens of any kind thanks to the game card/cartridge format. : peace: There's huge potential here just so long as Nintendo get it right from day one by having a strong launch with a decent mix of First and Third-Party offerings, a loyalty scheme similar to the one featured on the Wii U rather than random discounts, a Joy-Con which has a proper D-Pad as an optional extra plus at least a Nintendo developed game every new quarter even if they start out as HD ports of older titles plus of course this would be ideally bolstered by at least one or two new VC titles every week without fail until they run out... ...but if they get other past consoles added to the lineup then this won't be a problem, I'm thinking... from Nintendo we'll obviously have GameCube plus possibly almost long-lost Arcade releases? Then from Third-Parties oh boy... bring back Neo Geo plus get the Neo Geo Pocket onboard, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, return of the MegaDrive, Master System, C64, MAME, MSX more TG-16 titles too! Obviously that's the dream but there's no reason that it couldn't become a reality, there are handheld devices which can run most of the above formats but not perfectly, so it would certainly be a selling point if Nintendo along with Third-Parties came together to produce the ultimate Virtual Console with all of the games from all those formats running on both the big screen and on the go, of course because of the nature of the switch you could also throw in the portable titles from the 3DS VC as well... ...yeah Ok, I'll keep dreaming... for now. :p
-
I wish we knew what the maximum capacity SD card it will likely support up to, or indeed if it will be a Micro SD card which is possible given that the New 3DS uses that format. I'm temtped to buy one now in preparation but don't want to jump then gun a bit too early.

Thank you for the confirmation. In that case, I will keep those pre-orders and wait it out patiently. Time to rearrange that shelf storage to make more room for PS4 games as I think I'll be needing it for the end of this year and the start of 2017... though I must get around to playing more. : peace: I suppose I could always make a start on the Origins collection, one other thing I noticed... as part of the sale there was a costume pack which has six for Rebecca and two for Billy I think, is it actual new content or just some cheap unlock for stuff that's already in the game? If it's additional then I may well pick it up while it's cheap; I don't mind working for stuff which is already in the game though, that's half the fun. :awesome: It has been years since I've played any Resident Evil game, I'm looking forward to playing the series more again, especially in the run up to Reisdent Evil VII.

Stranger, Stranger! Now THAT's a thread bump! So, all of these Hd re-releases are in the Playstation Halloween sale available as a bundle which comes to around £28 for all three which isn't bad at all. Although I was kind of holding out for the chance to buy them all on disc, because... reasons but at this point I might just cave, I know that I could buy the NTSC versions but... those box inconsistencies prevent me from doing so. I saw that on ShopTo... they actually have all of them down as seperate releases coming on 02/12/16 for £17.85 each, I know it's more but I've tentatively put in a pre-order on each of them but I'm now wondering if these are just placeholders as I can't find any official confirmation. Here's the link anyway... http://www.shopto.net/video-games/ps4/PS4RE38-resident-evil-4 Seriously on the fence though, I've played them all before but it would be nice to own them on PS4 to play through them again. *sigh* although part of me is thinking maybe leave it altogether as what are the chances that Capcom will just release them as a bundle for the Switch anyway, I can see it happening! :p
-
True enough I suppose but we don't know to what extent the Wii U will continue to be supported even when the Switch is out, just like how the Wii servers stayed online for a good few years afterwards, especially if somehow there ends up being a Wii U version and a Switch version of the same game with cross-platform play somehow. But yeah... more than likely you are right, unless there's significant compatiblity via downloadable software then it's unlikely to happen and it's for the best that the future of the series shifts towards the Switch instead. : peace: I still expect the Wii U to be supported with digital content for a while yet though.

I echo this statement, though it must be said that if we did get MHGU for the Wii U which is something I just assumed wouldn't be happening for some odd reason... :p then Capcom should really take the chance to rebalance the difficulty if possible and at least add some new monsters. But yeah, if it's moreorless a straight port then definitely give us a way of transferring our data MH3U style as I really don't fancy doing some of those really grindy quests all over again, particularly in the single-player... ...Astalos though, I could fight that thing all day long! Also at least if it does come to the Wii U then chances are it will be one more game with voice chat I feel Capcom don't get enough praise for at least including voice chat in one of the earlier Wii U games, it really did make a difference at the time even though I'm still happy enough with text presets in MHG as at least they can make things amusing at times. Many times I've seen @Glen\-i use his "Well, that happened!" shortcut with super-effectiveness and it definitely adds to the overall experience.
