  1. Thank you for the confirmation. In that case, I will keep those pre-orders and wait it out patiently. Time to rearrange that shelf storage to make more room for PS4 games as I think I'll be needing it for the end of this year and the start of 2017... though I must get around to playing more. : peace: I suppose I could always make a start on the Origins collection, one other thing I noticed... as part of the sale there was a costume pack which has six for Rebecca and two for Billy I think, is it actual new content or just some cheap unlock for stuff that's already in the game? If it's additional then I may well pick it up while it's cheap; I don't mind working for stuff which is already in the game though, that's half the fun. :awesome: It has been years since I've played any Resident Evil game, I'm looking forward to playing the series more again, especially in the run up to Reisdent Evil VII.
  2. Stranger, Stranger! Now THAT's a thread bump! So, all of these Hd re-releases are in the Playstation Halloween sale available as a bundle which comes to around £28 for all three which isn't bad at all. Although I was kind of holding out for the chance to buy them all on disc, because... reasons but at this point I might just cave, I know that I could buy the NTSC versions but... those box inconsistencies prevent me from doing so. I saw that on ShopTo... they actually have all of them down as seperate releases coming on 02/12/16 for £17.85 each, I know it's more but I've tentatively put in a pre-order on each of them but I'm now wondering if these are just placeholders as I can't find any official confirmation. Here's the link anyway... http://www.shopto.net/video-games/ps4/PS4RE38-resident-evil-4 Seriously on the fence though, I've played them all before but it would be nice to own them on PS4 to play through them again. *sigh* although part of me is thinking maybe leave it altogether as what are the chances that Capcom will just release them as a bundle for the Switch anyway, I can see it happening! :p
  3. True enough I suppose but we don't know to what extent the Wii U will continue to be supported even when the Switch is out, just like how the Wii servers stayed online for a good few years afterwards, especially if somehow there ends up being a Wii U version and a Switch version of the same game with cross-platform play somehow. But yeah... more than likely you are right, unless there's significant compatiblity via downloadable software then it's unlikely to happen and it's for the best that the future of the series shifts towards the Switch instead. : peace: I still expect the Wii U to be supported with digital content for a while yet though.
  4. I echo this statement, though it must be said that if we did get MHGU for the Wii U which is something I just assumed wouldn't be happening for some odd reason... :p then Capcom should really take the chance to rebalance the difficulty if possible and at least add some new monsters. But yeah, if it's moreorless a straight port then definitely give us a way of transferring our data MH3U style as I really don't fancy doing some of those really grindy quests all over again, particularly in the single-player... ...Astalos though, I could fight that thing all day long! Also at least if it does come to the Wii U then chances are it will be one more game with voice chat I feel Capcom don't get enough praise for at least including voice chat in one of the earlier Wii U games, it really did make a difference at the time even though I'm still happy enough with text presets in MHG as at least they can make things amusing at times. Many times I've seen @Glen\-i use his "Well, that happened!" shortcut with super-effectiveness and it definitely adds to the overall experience.
  5. Don't feel too bad, they're both genuinely excellent designs, also that's how it often goes with ideas, I'm just glad that you came up with it. It probably helps that you're probably not adding any more designs but don't let that stop you, if there's a request or a sudden burst of inspiration then by all means add more! However I'm not responsible for my wreckless expenditure... ...well, I am but it's all for a good cause so you're most welcome. : peace:
  6. Damn, you've gone and done it now Goafer... I had to order another T-Shirt AND a mug, I was completely powerless. Read as - I have no willpower and that design is excellent. Ah well, now I can have a different shirt for both days of the event and I can enjoy a nice cuppa - or ten- in that lovely mug. : peace:
  7. I managed to play this for a whole 45 mins on the Xbox One... ...at which point it crashed. :p Fun though for what it's worth, I even got a few kills, perhaps I'm not that bad at COD afterall though I could never play it seriously. Kind of looking forward to the game now, though I have other titles to play so I don't know how often I'll actually play it for.
  8. My mistake, I thought it was six hours time difference, thanks for the clarification. : peace: Either way for me, I'll be watching it later in the day it looks like. Clock don't go back until this Sunday so we're good there at least.
  9. Excellent... So that's 2PM BST on Thursday for the UK then. Almost exactly a week after the Switch reveal, surely they won't show a Monster Hunter for the Switch this early though? If they did and it turned out to be a launch title for the machine in all territories that would be huge! But it's time to temper those expectations... It will likely be dlc for Monster Hunter Generations or more likely Monster Hunter Stories, maybe a limited edition this, special edition that but probably no huge megatons as much as I'd love that. Then again, there is always that outisde possibility... MH5 for 3DS with MH5U (or should that be MH5S) for the switch at a later date? Who knows, interesting times though as when the Switch comes out in March 2017 that would be the series' 13th anniversary from when the original game came out in Japan and to think, it has been on Nintendo platforms for around half of that time now. : peace:
  10. Well, I've signed up to Red Bubble and have purchased a T-Shirt, so it's a start. I'll have a think on what games I could play on the day, see if I can set myself a challenge, something which will hopefully drum up interest via miiverse, I'm sure I can come up with something hopefully. : peace:
  11. Nice work there Luke. : peace: I was thinking... I'm not really that great on the streaming but, I've noticed that my next week off work actually coincides with the same weekend this is taking place on, so perhaps I could buy a shirt, wear it, take a pic with the shirt on and just play some VC/Nintendo games for most of the weekend while posting updates on Miiverse which I can then post here and reference that it's for MadDog Marathon in the updates which might help drum up some more donations and support. Just a vague idea anyway, if it'll help though I'll buy a shirt now and start thinking about what games I could line up for this in the spirit of the event.
  12. n-europe Presents VC Weekly #389 R-Type Bonk's Adventure New Adventure Island Street Fighter Alpha 2 Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers Return of the TG-16... ...with reviews from myself & Dean. Plus Street Fighter II (again) but on the smaller screen. Check inside for the verdicts. Enjoy! : peace:
  13. The only one I'm really warming to is the Pro Controller at the moment, because it has a proper D-Pad and looks like a "best of" pad made up of the Wii U Pro controller, Xbox one layout and sticks with triggers which remind me of the PS4's DS4. Overall though yeah, the Pro Controller lacks that traditional Nintendo style but then perhaps that's what they're aiming for with it? Just giving gamers what they want with the more traditional controller, then doing their own thing with the unit as a portable. All I'm saying though it that it would be good to have the option of a Joy-Con with a D-pad instead of the awkward compromise which is those buttons, aside from that I'm happy enough with it conceptually although once you detach the Joy-Cons they do look tiny... I imagine that's what it would be like if you could detach the controls say from a New 3DS though and have the machine just set on a desk in front of you. Hopefully we'll see more details and updated controller options in the future. : peace:
  14. Nice 3D render here... https://sketchfab.com/models/c2d8eef2b22841abacb0209465bfee0f/embed Shows the Switch from all angles.
  15. Well it seems @Glen\-i, @Ugh first aid and I really tore up some monsters last night... ...and got torn up by one or two as well. :p That monster though, the big floaty one with the lightning storms and proectiles of death... yeah that one, what an encounter! I can't wait to try that again, though perhaps with four players as was remarked afterwards. (sorry if it appeared that I bailed early last night, that wasn't the case, I was going to say... "Thanks for some... truly excellent hunts!" before bidding you both good night but I got DC'd so sorry about that, the router tends to switch off around just before 1am on its timer switch which is why I'll tend to play online until around 12:30am...ish but we were doing so well so I stayed longer. But that Hyper Zinogre at the end, got well and truly butchered! I think it was partly that I was concious of the time but damn if that hunt didn't come together rather perfectly. It was a fun evening, hopefully we can all play again soon. : peace:
  16. ... For this reason and many more, I'm glad I stopped supporting GAME a long time ago. They won't convince many potential buyers by charging for a demo surely?
  17. That's pretty sad news regardless of how much time has passed, I mean you studied together and had that shared life experience. Never good to hear such news, it reminded me when I found out that one of my tutors from when I went to college many years ago took his own life... It was years after I'd left but it still has an effect on you; in my case I discovered it in the local newspaper. I suppose there's not really much else to say other than that I hope you're doing alright though.
  18. This happened the first time I got the dlc, I think I just had to go along with it... try to get the dlc again then it reverts back to downloaded state, you go back to the game/title screen and it should then say "new cups unlocked" or something like that; sorry I can't remember exactly how it happened, it's a bit shoddy initially that it does that but once it's working it will work fine from that point.
  19. Well that was certainly an eventful evening! Glen-i and I, seemed to flit between Arena quests and Operation Astalos Decimation and General Assault in pursuit of two electrogems so that I could finally fully upgrade my armour to maximum. First quest, got one! Second... nope! Third... kidding right? Forth(?) didn't think so... then the last quest came and Glen asked, Any Luck? to which I replied, I didn't get one as my hunter fell to the ground in a rather weary state... ...before getting up and proclaiming, I got TWO! on the very last quest of the evening! Really chuffed, we really ripped through Astalos with great efficiency again as well, not bad for an evenings work. : peace:
  20. Yeah but this is on the Xbox One where it's the opening weekend for it so I'm guessing the keys apply in this instance? It's a silly situation due to this exclusivity deal going on, I know I guess I could just download it on my PS4 now but, I kind of want to keep the COD games on the Xbox One as it seems to be my default console for shooters for some reason. So if anyone wants a key to play the Xbox One version, just ask... out of curiosity I checked online and people are actually selling them for a couple of pounds per code which seems a bit daft, I'm happy to just give them away anyway.
  21. So... I got beta codes for the Xbox One version, they gave me five codes to share with friends as well (now four as I've already given one away) but if anyone wants a code then just give me a shout. The beta starts today in a few hours I think, I'm not too fussed but I may pop on over the weekend, oh and it's 19.33GB to download. :p
  22. Yo, you know it fo sho... Glen-Ayyyye! We be reckin' 'dem monstas good, word! I was thinkin' round 8 if that be good for you, brotha? Fo shizzle, fa rizzle... peace out! :awesome: I'm clearly so "down" with the street speak... but yeah, see you online at 8... G-dawg.
  23. I've been thinking in terms of the rumoured specifications and what they could mean for the Virtual Console... With those kinds of specs, surely a portable Gamecube VC could now be a reality? I've given up hope on ever seeing it happen on the Wii U now (reluctantly I deleted the empty GC folder on my home screen, replacing it with a TG-16 one) but for the Switch, especially with those triggers it has to happen. You can already get Android gaming devices which run everything up to Dreamcast (presumably they run well? I have no idea) and the Switch seems significantly more powerful than those so I'm definitely going to hold out hope for more powerful games being released on the Virtual Console. Obviously there's the whole space issue but if you can get 512GB SD cards now then... that would at least store a fair amount but speaking of patches and whatnot, perhaps Games like Skyrim won't even get a release until Nintendo are sure that the game is at a stable enough point that it won't be getting any more significant patches for a while, so perhaps you just get what's on the (probably already sizable) game card... or there will be intense compression technology used for such files, I have no idea but it will surely be interesting to find out. There's so much we don't know yet but at least now we've had a glimpse of the future and at first glance, I rather like it. : peace:
  24. Apparently these are the rumoured specs, though I don't know how accurate they are... I don't confess to knowing much regarding specs but they don't sound out of the realms of possibility after what we've seen.
