  1. Right, @Glen\-i, you... Know exactly what I'm about to say at this point, so I'll just post a time. 8PM
  2. Hmm, my interest is piqued.
  3. Erm... Well... I'll get back to you on that one. :p
  4. Bless you @Tphi! This has really made my day, I mean this time had to come eventually and of course at one point I thought it might have been happening on the Wii U but it seems that purple coloured folder I had on the machine since folders were announced was destined to remain empty. It's OK, I've since turned it into a TG-16 folder so all is well. But with the Switch being rumoured to be within decent power range then this can now finally become a reality, just imagine having all of those games playable in the palm of your hand or even better, upscaled to possibly up to 1080p on the big screen. Oh yeah and speaking of all things 1080... I started making up some banners when I thought of the possibility of GC games making their way to the Switch shortly after the console was announced. Disclaimer - I had no knowledge of any of these rumours at all, this has just been a dream of mine for way too long now so I'm glad to see that it looks like it's hopefully finally happening. : peace: There are others I have made but I wanted to share that one as I was reasonably pleased with the way it turned out. Also yes I did borrow that conveniently-sized Switch icon from the forum so thanks to @RedShell for making all these new icons as they really are fantastic. Regarding how VC games will translate to the Switch, while news of an upgrade fee for titles isn't great, if we are going to end up getting better emulation on the games assuming that everything is now going to be handled by NERD (Nintendo European Research & Development) who made all those lovely Nintendo Classic Mini NES games possible in addition to DS VC games then the upgrade fee might just be worth it; however I must stress that with the NNID and My Nintendo account, loyalty should be rewarded somehow as I've already bought certain NES games FOUR times over digitially now... if you count Wii, Wii U, 3DS and NES Classic, so a free download for certain titles wouldn't go amiss. It's too early to say much else really but this news is certainly most promising for the future of the Virtual Console at the very least, I can only hope that Nintendo learn from some of their past mistakes though as we really need the library which we have currently on the Wii U and 3DS - up to the point of March 2017 release schedule - available immediately from launch and then carry on with the game releases from there, probably even launching the same games on Switch and Wii U in some instances where perhaps we'll get Pokémon Puzzle League for instance, standard version on Wii U, extra emulation features on Switch with cross-buy going forward? We shall see by the time we make the Switch but some very interesting times ahead indeed.
  5. It's nice to see that we have similar views on the series. Yeah, that's what I figured so in that respect EoS is an ideal starting point really with the additional bonus of the story being good... ...or good up until the point that I played, I must confess that I still haven't seen the credits roll. But I have played a fair amount and I did happen to look up a spoiler-free guide on what the post-game is like so I will be returning to Treasure Town, it's just difficult when you have so many games to play but not enough time to devote to all of them when you take reviewing time into consideration. : peace: I did say that my play time on it would be compromised at some point, with the release of Pokémon Sun & Moon that point has now arrived and I haven't even played that for a week now as I'm only getting back to Alola today... ...plus y'know, Monster Hunter Generations. And all those other VC titles for future editions of VC Weekly. #TooManyGamesNotEnoughTimeButTheyALLWillBePlayed
  6. Looks like I'll be waiting a while before playing Final Fantasy XV then... I was on the verge of starting a file on it the other night, just as well I didn't now I guess. Those are... rather substantial updates, it sounds like they cobbled together part of the game near a deadline and thought "That'll do... probably, its been ten years, ship it!" *one week passes* "You know all that extra work we were going to put in which would delay the game into 2017? Yeah... we're going to add that in and distribute it via a massive patch or several small ones months apart to make the game better." *everyone at SE groans* "Why didn't we just do it properly the first time?" Or something like that... I don't know for certain but that's the impression I get, remember when they were talking about not releasing a huge day 1 patch despite there being one anyway? Perhaps that was the patch which was not considered big by them but all this other stuff to come is possibly what should have been there, consequently was not because of their "promise" to keep the size down (which also included putting a lot more on the disc I think?) though perhaps part of the real reason is that they knew it would take longer for them to achieve their original vision for the game. Either way it sounds like a bit of a mess, let's see how the game looks in say... March 2017? : peace: Oh wait... yeah, this game is really going to go on the back-burner for a while for me, I might play the other remasters I have before it now, so it's not all bad from a "too many games, not enough time" perspective.
  7. n-europe Presents VC Weekly #391 @Glen\-i and anyone else who's interested of course. It seems I did spend rather a long time on this edition but I'll be back up to speed soon. We've had a rather busy month on the site, so thank you for your continued support and understanding. Check inside for the verdicts.[/size][/b] Enjoy! : peace:
  8. I purchased them all but haven't had a chance to have a good look at them yet, if anyone's interested I'll try to take some pics of them either for the site/forum/both soon. Looks like I'll be unboxing them anyway seeing as they can be used in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. : peace:
  9. @Ganepark32 that sounds awful. I hope you'll still have a good Christmas and that things will hopefully look up soon.
  10. Easy Allies Review is in. Consider me hyped! : peace:
  11. What I'll likely buy from the list... Uncharted: The Lost Legacy The Last of Us Part 2 Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Let It Die Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Horizon: Zero Dawn Windjammers Resident Evil 7 Wipeout Omega Collection PaRappa The Rapper LocoRoco Patapon Yakuza 6 and Yakuza Kiwami Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom Ace Combat 7 Ys Origins Nex Machina Gravity Rush 2 (Raven DLC) Street Fighter V (Akuma DLC) Nier: Automata Most of it, then. :p I think I'm going to need more shelf space as I count at least eight of those titles will be boxed.
  12. Thank you Glen. That would be excellent, will join on you then and I've let them both know that it'll be the usual password. Should be fun. : peace:
  13. Edit - I used to like these kind of games, now... I'm not so bothered about them.
  14. I'm up for it but, I have a couple of friends who've just started playing MHG and I said that I'd help them through the early quests tomorrow at 7PM, so if that's cool with you then we could help 'em out? ...possibly... ...maybe... ...perhaps... I'll let you know if anything changes but one way or another I'll be on MHG for 7PM on Sunday.
  15. Happy Birthday drahkon!
  16. Sadly our store doesn't stock Wii U games, indeed it hasn't for about two or three years now, when we were selling off all out Nintendo stuff I picked up a copy of Pikmin 3 for an absurdly low £3.25 or something daft, then I never saw any more again. :/ I noticed that we did have copies of Pokemon Sun & Moon in stock despite not stocking 3DS any more, they were rather unceremoniously just chucked in a pile at the foot of the Xbox/Playstation game stand though with a price label just there, I get the feeling they are only there because we know they will sell though. If I do notice us getting any from anywhere though, I will of course pick you one up though it is rather doubtful. : peace:
  17. An interesting delve into the history of the Croc series... ...though I mainly watched it for the Nintendo/Argonaut stuff. It certainly adds some perspective to the history of the 3D platformer.
  18. Not a problem, I did post kind of late in the day... It's OK, I even cleared an offline quest and made up some potions. : peace: Joining you now.
  19. 7PM or so tonight? I'll be playing Pokémon Sun until then as I feel like I've barely scratched the surface, only 4 hours and 13 minutes into it so far.
  20. The Good - Motion Controls, Virtual Console, Sold Well. The Bad - Shovelware, Underpowered, Limited Online. The Uglii - Controller Shells, Fickle Market, Lasting Stigma There is more I could say but wanted to keep it short for now.
  21. n-europe Presents Nintendo Classic Mini NES @Vileplume2000 goes hands-on with Nintendo's latest micro console... ...and I helped! Check inside for the verdict. Enjoy! : peace:
  22. I'm sorry to hear that Eenuh. Have your parents left food or treats out for her near places where she might be? That might work to bring her out of hiding if she's nearby perhaps, I don't know what else to suggest but I hope she's found safe soon.
  23. That may be true but I really hope this isn't the case, also it feels that with this generation we are in a new era of gaming where it's possible to have loads of games spanning almost entire generations of console history on one machine and where there is money to be made from more niche titles as there's enough of a cult following to justify it in addition to potential new buyers as well. I really hope that Microsoft will see the benefit in it, I'm not talking about the entire original Xbox library here but more like the best fifty to one hundred games on the system, it could happen... I hope.
  24. That's a pretty neat thread, I'll have to check it out in more detail sometime as I also didn't know about the visuals issue with later Xbox models in either Panzer Dragoon Orta or Gun Valkyrie and I own both titles plus I only got an Xbox when the Crystal model went into production meaning you could get the machine with Outrun 2 along with some other games for £99.99! Perhaps it was a Sega thing? Both games were developed by Smilebit so it would add up... but do you know what saddens me? A lot of these excellent titles just aren't playable unless you hook up the original machine so as such I haven't been able to play either of those two titles for many years. I have recently thought that Microsoft are clearly missing a trick because while they are slowly making the Xbox 360 library backwards compatible with the Xbox One which is of course fantastic, I'm sure they could get away with actually selling us original Xbox games again recoded for the system for say... £8.99 per title? I know I would buy all the games I wanted to play digitally again for that price. Especially if this console generation is just going to continue... the Xbox One will be around for a long time yet surely so it would make sense, especially with this anniversary! Has this approach been discussed in the Gaf thread out of interest? I was just wondered if they had already talked about the viability of it - Xbox original games on Xbox One - much like the Switch has got me wondering about the possibility of GameCube VC games. Anyway, in answer to your question... Yes I do indeed have some original Xbox games, obviously the ones in my collection I'm going to want to keep but I certainly have some doubles and some ones I would be willing to just sell. I can't vouch for all of their conditions off the top of my head but I'm sure I have some ones in good, clean and presumably working order but actually testing certain titles would be a problem for the ones which aren't backwards compatible but by all means; if you have any titles you are after then let me know or I could get around to getting all the Xbox original titles I have together and take some pictures for you to look at. : peace: Some of them I have already got sorted into boxes as I was in two minds whether to sell any from my collection that I don't want anymore but now that I know you're potentially interested in collecting them I will give you first refusal on them of course as you've helped me out before a fair few times which I'm grateful for. Also, it's good to see you about a bit more on here again.
  25. My copy of Pokémon Sun from the Nintendo store complete with Solgaleo figurine arrived this morning, I have yet to play it yet though as I've some site stuff to do but I shall be on it later today.
