I didn't know where to post this but it got a chuckle out of me so...

This was already in the original, if you played as the Bard. The best way to play in my opinion - I just couldn't sense the rhythm in the game at all. Felt like a very strange mechanic. I'm intruiged by this Fixed Beat mode as well, I had no idea that it was in the original game. The way that I understand these games is that you move to the rhythm of the music, so you have to move or your enemies will? Unless they only move when you do? So I suppose Fixed Beat mode just lets you play at your own pace while still enjoying all of the music as it is? I'm definitely interested to play both the original and this latest title one way or another, I just feel like I don't know what I'm in for yet... I'd pick up the original being that it's cheap but I'm still holding out for that possible physical Switch release with both games which might get announced today during the stream.

After going through that long list, there's 32 games that I do want and only 11 that I don't... ...I'm going to need a bigger Switch shelf. Also, time to clear out some other games (not Switch titles) to make some room and funds for the new ones.

Mega-quote for the new page... in (because I couldn't just not post a Fresh Prince gif)

From looking at how much fun you've been having with the Dragon Quest games in general @Hero-of-Time and due to all the footage of RPG's being shown at E3, I'm really condering getting in on the action too I'm thinking about firing my 3DS up later and maybe going back to Dragon Quest VIII or Dragon Quest VII and going from there. I want to play Dragon Warrior I&II and III on the GB/GBC but I'll wait until I've got my GC/GBA Player setup properly again. (well mostly for DQIII being that it's a GBC exclusive port) The Zenithia trilogy though of IV, V & VI are titles I've been meaning to play for a long time, I guess it would make more sense for me to play them in order when the time comes. For now though, I have a feeling I'll at least be playing DQVIII for a bit later.

I'm now wondering if this game will focus on the Underworld of the map, whereas Breath of the Wild focused on the Overworld. I don't count the shrines as the Underworld, as they just seem to exist in their own space despite where they are on the map. Either way, while I did very much enjoy a fair bit of the original game and I appreciated its ambition, even I would quite like more of an emphasis on large dungeons with focused design. And I don't wish to start the debate about the shrines again, they were good for what they were but they just didn't have the same feel as classic Zelda dungeons. Hyrule Castle though? Brilliant, and I loved that you could go there whenever you felt like you were ready to. I went there before I was ready really and still beat it... somehow. I didn't even bother with any of the four guardians either... but that's OK because the game was structured in such a way that you could do that. The silly thing is, I put in maybe a hundred hours or so into the original game but... I'm now wondering how much of that was taken up by scanning amiibos... ...I'll get that last missing part of the Fierce Deity Link set one day.

I hope they announce the physical edition of Cadence of Hyrule featuring both this game and the original Crypt of the Necrodancer at the Treehouse Live segment today or tomorrow. Or just have someone from the dev team just say a flat-out "NO! it's not happening, buy both of the damn games digitially now! (please)" so that those who want a physical game don't feel the need to wait for half a year or longer for the small glimmer of a chance that it will actually happen. I'm fine with either way, it's just easier if it's made known up front, like what has already apparently happened with the Grandia HD collection.

So at this rate... We'll get one part of Final Fantasy VII Remake per generation of consoles (if generations are even a thing by then) and then a 16k remaster complete edition by 2040?

Grandia & Grandia II HD remasters heading to Switch
S.C.G replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well... that's a missed opportunity. I'm still happy that the games are coming to the Switch but a physical release would have been nice. And it's not even the type of game that's likely to be picked up by Limited Run games either I don't think, so that's a definite for no physical version on this one. -
Tempted but... all the games in that trailer, I'm pretty sure I have as Virtual Console games on the Wii. I'm glad that a TurboGrafx 16 mini exists though.

E3 2019 Trailers Roundup all* of the trailers, in one place. *might not be all of the trailers, but most of them. Enjoy!

Metroid Prime Trilogy...

So these are going to be £29.99 digital only ports like the other games I assume? I'm glad that they are on the Switch but, without a physical release, at a reasonable price, there doesn't seem to be much point if you own these games on other platforms. I mean, yes... you can play them on the Switch, that's the point and co-op but... for re-releases in their most basic form they really shouldn't be more than £14.99 per game.

Nintendo Direct E3 2019 Roundup (aka - one big Nintendo Press Release) I'll see if I can gather together a load of the trailers in the meantime for another article. (plus I want to track down that Panzer Dragoon trailer so I can watch it again 10 times over)

Best conference of E3 2019, no contest!

Square Enix Press Conference Roundup containing all titles and release dates for Switch titles already known about and freshly announced. And all of the trailers too, I think that'll cover most of the main games and it saves having a copy-pasted, seperate formulaic article for every title. The conference video itself is in there too in case anyone wants to watch or rewatch it. Also the only place I could see which had the trailer for the Switch version of Dragon Quest XI was GameXplain, so kudos to them for that.

Final Fantasy VII Remake looks genuinely amazing. I'm really excited to hopefully play that next year.
-
That's a great shame, I really thought they would be adding more Xbox original games than the 39 it ended up totalling. Oh well, at least we got Panzer Dragoon Orta, out of all the Xbox Original games, it's still easily my favourite title.

Today's "Megaton" announcements from the Ubisoft press conference... The Nintendo Wii gets its sole annual release in the form of Just Dance 2020... ...oh and it's coming out on the Switch too. It's Breath of the... nope, wrong game, it's a brand new IP called Gods & Monsters coming next year.
-
Oh there's a new trailer as well...
-
Well, that happened... ...and it has not gone down well, at all. And understandably so as the Epic Store wasn't on the cards when Shenmue III was Kickstarted, heck it didn't even exist. I mean... I'm going for the PS4 version but still, I can understand why a lot of people would not be best pleased at this announcement.

The Messenger: Picnic Panic a free expansion launches on 11th July 2019 across all platforms. Personally, I can't wait to now hopefully receive the physical version which was pre-ordered months ago. Won't be long now!

Doom Eternal is released on 22nd November 2019 across all platforms.
