Developers walk us through the demo. Sounds really good! Is an RPG, MMO. 4 player squads + a drone companion player. It will have an end game.

I really like the look of this. For some reason the story and setting are resonating much more with me than the other two games, which I'm still yet to play. But I think there's a strong chance I'll get this one.

The Morning After - E3 Nintendo Direct Verdict
Retro_Link replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I gradually came round to what I'd seen throughout the day... Mario - it really helped seeing the Developer Diary on this one and seeing how the single player experience would be. It appealed to me more viewing it in this way... it didn't just remind me of a 3D NSMB. Be interesting how the story/cutscenes work depending on how many characters are playing through it!... I'm guessing Peach ISN'T Captured? The levels are a bit disappointing in that they feel very traditional of what we've been getting lately with NSMB and 3DLand, and I don't like cat Mario. But slightly more positive about this one. NOT A MUST BUY YET. Mario Kart - Looked Incredible in every way. MUST BUY. Donkey Kong - Getting over my Extreme disappointment that this is what Retro have been doing... DKCR was easily in my Top 10 Wii games! It was fantastic! The sequel is likely to me more so... so yes in that regard it's a good announcement and game to have... even if it feels a bit too soon after the first. The animated cutscenes looked glorious like a DKC cartoon done right! WOULD BUY. Wind Waker - I quite liked it... it feels a bit too bloomy. I'm not sure I'd pay full price. WOULD CONSIDER. Bayonetta 2 - Honestly I thought it looked a visual mess! :p NOT FOR ME. X - Looked absolutely stunning! Definitely a next-gen quality title. But not really one that appeals to me, and I don't really game online much so might miss out on a lot of the appeal. WOULD CONSIDER. Smash Bros - Typical Smash atm. The visual side looks more bright and Melee than Brawl which is a win. It simply comes down to the stage design, roster and gameplay now. If these are all more like Brawl... I might pass. If they're more like Melee... then it's a... MUST BUY. A bit of a split conference for me then. There are a couple of MUST BUYS that would tempt me into buying a Wii U. Overall though I'm not sure there are enough games yet... it won't be until Mario Kart that I consider the console. By then hopefully there will be more games coming. -
UP - A Masterpiece or Massively Overrated?
Retro_Link replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
I think it's Massively Overrated. Totally agree that outside of the opening, it's an average, typical animated adventure. -
haha, love that :p

Yeah the San Fran one looks cool! I think all the levels shown so far look amazing tbh! (well maybe not the food one )
-
Bayonetta (I think looks a bit of a visual mess) and this aren't really to my taste. Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros though! Yes please!

I was hoping she might whip out the little balance board guy as a weapon/shield in some way. What's his name again?

Yeah it's like a speed boat pulling up to Outset Island! :p I didn't really understand what they were getting at there. It sounded like it was being tweeked... but I'm not exactly sure how. What was the talk about it, or the game, ending abruptly?

@Jonnas Maybe Sony get some leeway at the moment because they're constantly creating new or reinventing their IP's? -
I never expected them to be working on F-Zero or Starfox, I thought it would be Metroid or a New I.P. Either of which would be a system seller, showing exactly why you need a Wii U in your life through unique, innovative use of the Gamepad and high end HD visuals.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Directors Cut
Retro_Link replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Oh bugger, and I bought the standard version on PSN just a while back and haven't played it yet. Mind you it was £3.99 or something :p -
It slightly bothers me that the pipes aren't transparent green :p
-
I love the visuals, much more vibrant and Melee like. It all comes down to level design now. Brawls felt very samey... the same floating platforms on different backgrounds. Hopefully they're more varied and inspired like in Melee.

Boss strategy sounds a bit strange... being able to leave at any point and the boss retains it's damage... does that mean they loose all challenge?
-
Definitely watch the gameplay demonstration above, it was epic!
-
Actually maybe it's probably this games version of Battlefield. Given the Smash Bros flags.

Did you honestly think this was what Retro had been working on for their big Wii U title. That's why we're disappointed.
