Does it?
Galaxy has imaginative themes for it's worlds. Expansive levels and Stars.
Where as NSMB has the traditional Mario themes and the 4 playable traditional Mario characters. Both of which are present in Super Mario 3D World. Same with the flagpole's and countdown timer.
I'd say this game was on the 3DLand-NSMB side of things than the 3DLand-Galaxy side of things.
Fuck! The one at Drayton Manor that tilts you forward a little is scary, let along all the way!!
Ming you, it's not too different from sitting at the front of Oblivion... only 5 times higher! :p ............... Shit!
Yeah I will say that if I didn't know I'd think this was a Wii game.
I genuinely can't see an improvement over the first game... which is very strange given Retro's ability to push a console. It feel like this was developed on Wii and ported over. You only have to look at Mario Karts levels to see the Wii U's potential.
They mention the fur effect... but that looks less remarkable than Mario Galaxy's to me.
That ending! Looking great, just makes you smile.
No sign of any animals yet. Also the Developer Diary mentioned another playable character.
(stupid random jelly in level)
It's not online itself which is why I'm not sure we'll see those games on Wii U, it's what those games are doing and the power they take up. Seamlessly being able to drop your vehicle anywhere into an online game map the size of the USA (albeit reduced and tightened up) with no load times and join squads of other players etc...
It explains what the game is...
I think just Nintendo's mentality to not really push it and use it! If games built around online such as The Crew or The Division actually came to the Wii U (I'm still not convinced it's doable), how many people would actually be there to make the online experiences a good one?
Pretty sure the Wii U couldn't run The Crew or The Division could it?... at least not without being notably scaled back and that's not what those games are about. They're a next-gen showcase. Also Wii U still isn't exactly the place to be for online.
The likes of WatchDogs also look too good on PS4 to overlook.
Nintendo just got the Wii U all wrong.
