The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Retro_Link replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
A bit like Zelda from Nintendo Land? -
I'm SOOOOO happy Sabine is in the final!! Been a fan of hers for a good few years now, and it was an incredible match!!

Can it be an N64 controller without the central handle and different layout?... is it not now just a controller? Is the Z trigger still there? Nice controller model though.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

Exactly! It's Nintendo who feel they have to keep pumping out Mario and Zelda's! I'm sure the majority of fans would rather wait and get an epic one, and fill in the gap with other franchises. But Nintendo are putting themselves in this situation. "We're bringing you Mario, we're bringing you Zelda"... is all Reggie seems to say at times!... Well you know what Reggie... you can keep them every so often. -

Completely agree @Cube, the Wind Waker style hasn't been done well since the Wind Waker, Link looks SO bad in the DS games :p A Wind Waker sequel on the Home Consoles could far surpass anything the like of Ni No Kuni achieved, it's that good an art style! I'd just love to see it happen tbh! Heck Ocarina of Time 3D looked lovely, develop a game for the 3DS using that engine! -
Impossible for me because I'm always catching up on games :p... But we're halfway through 2013 now and it's been a great year so far! Might be fun to see how everyone rates the first half of the year, and what their No.1 or Top5 would be. The home console have had a stellar start to the year with games such as... Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Tomb Raider Ni No Kuni Bioshock Infinite and of course The Last of Us. The Handhelds have seen the likes of Animal Crossing Luigi's Mansion 2 and Persona 4. There have also been some cracking Indie games like of Guacamelee! and Mighty Switch Force 2 And there have been loads more beside, with Lego City, Dead Space 3, God of War Ascension, Metal Gear Rising, New Super Luigi U and no doubt many I'm forgetting. So what gets your vote?

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Retro_Link replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well we've only had one Zelda game like it on the home console... compared to quite a few more serious Zelda games. I admit I'd love to see it! I can't help feel it would feel fresher. Where as a Tech Demo style Zelda would feel like Twilight Princess HD and continue the slightly repetitive pattern of Nintendo's game development of late... Roll out a 2D Mario, Roll out a Mario World, Roll out an Adult Zelda for the hardcore. One side of me loves the idea of a Skyrim style overworld. But could that maybe be done in a Wind Waker cartoon style maybe?... or would that feel like a missed opportunity? Although having said that I feel sticking the cartoon/animated Zelda's on the handheld would also be missing an opportunity for something very very special! -
Play it afterwards though :p

I'd be so excited to see what they could do with a Wind Waker sequel... it certainly sounded like that might be what they're trying for by learning from Wind Waker HD. A beautifully animated living HD cartoon world!... Yes please!! -

Does it not come back?

Oh I don't know I overlooked that. Maybe DLC and costume packs or something, was there multiplayer?

Tempted to try Dead Space... but then the sequels aren't as strong. Maybe Far Cry Blood Dragon, but I was wondering about getting round to buying the main game first and it could turn up in a cheaper sale down the line.

I just said... their leaves and flower heads could show you where they are when in long grass! A patch of grass suddenly brought to life with flowers as you walk through could look lovely! Also the grass need only be in transitional areas... then it could be back to the flattened grass texture. With Pikmin 3 only 3 weeks away, would you not rather just wait and experience it first time with this game?
-
Yeah that's my biggest issue with the game. I'd love there to be sections of grass to walk through with the Pikmin's leaves and flowers showing you where they are and decorating the grass
-
haha ok, understood

I think you could say that some of the beautiful Pixar like Ratchet & Clank cutscenes aren't too much of a departure... but I think we're a long way from being able to sustain that sort of detail through the duration of an entire game. It would be beautiful to have an few more high end animation looking Nintendo games! Especially given their characters. Yoshi's Yarn has the potential for something more like this I suppose. I like the way they're approaching the cutscenes in Tropical Freeze too... filling them with personality to really engage you with the characters, almost making them almost like a cartoon within the game.

Guys, all of us Mods have had a good chat about the way the Wii U Console Discussion is going on this forum, and as you've probably seen @Hero\-of\-Time's post, we've come to a decision on how to handle it moving forward. In order to stop the same argumentative behaviour simply migrating to this thread, in fairness we have decided to lock this thread too for the time being. Of course, feel free to create individual threads for any Wii U related news that comes about for discussion, but they too will be closed should any members use them as a replacement for locked threads. Cheers guys!

I'm actually getting more and more excited for this game. When I pick up a Wii U, possibly around Christmas time with a few games in anticipation for Mario Kart... this will definitely be one of them. I love the idea of an even more refined and diverse DKCR... Perfection! Also I think the Sea Pirate animal theme appeals to me a little more. Should be great! Wouldn't mind it having that next-gen step up like Mario Kart mind you, but still... DKCR was very pretty! I wonder what little graphical wonders we'll be treated to this time round, like we had the little fiery cinders and heat in the lava levels, and the luscious grass throughout.

The flag poles and time limits tend to be indicators of level design, but yeah, we've only seen a selection of levels so far.
-
I could also find you a lot of non-linear levels in Mario Galaxy, especially the first.
-
I think Seb's still got this. They're in the same situation as Mercedes when it coms to tyres, and although they haven't quite got the Mercs qualifying pace at the moment they have a better race car, as Seb and Webber were able to show in Silverstone. Seb was unstoppable in Canada. Lewis is also 43 points behind.

He has got a new contract for Avengers 2 & 3.
