Why does DK look better than Retro's effort?

I'm SOOOOOOO much happier with the more Melee like vibrant cartoony visual style! Brawls more realistic darker tone with Mario's denim etc... just didn't sit right with me. Bowser, DK... they all look much better, much more Nintendo. Hope Samus is just Samus in this game.

There has already been confirmation it's in the game, maybe it wasn't from there, but I've heard someone say it. IGN [i think] confirmed the Frog suit too the other day.

@Diageo If you hardly ever play online multiplayer then why are you bothered? I don't play online multiplayer, so it doesn't bother me... but I am on Plus, so it'll be there if I want to.

True, true, I was being a bit selective with the footage I was remembering. It's a middle ground.

I think had Tropical Freeze looked like a noticeable step up from DCKR and less like a direct Wii sequel, there would have been a far better reaction towards the game upon it's unveiling tbh. As has been the case with Mario Kart. I think that's where the negativity came from, it felt like we'd just had this. I think now everyone has calmed down there's a positive feeling towards the game and how they'll improve and expand on things in the sequel, but given Retro's ability to push a console, it's a bit disappointing that it looks like a DKCR Part 2.
