General Election 2017 - MJ popcorn gif edition

Labour beginning to poll higher under Jeremy Corbyn than it did under Ed Miliband. This part is interesting, however: -
How's everyone doing with their language learning? I'm getting there slowly. I think my vocabulary is getting better and I'm starting to get the word order a bit more. It's still tough going, though.

Mourinho makes no sense. We started with a weakened team (not counting the players who can't play right now, like Ibra) and then he decides to bring on the stronger players when we're two-nil down. So, are we trying to win the game or are we resting players for the Europa League? If we're trying to win it, why not start with the better team? It wasn't a great game from a United point of view and the better team won. Congratulations on finishing second, Spurs.

I came home from work to see that @Eenuh had purchased both of these. (Grand Ages and Stardew Valley) Just got to find the time to get into them now.

A friend from work got us tickets to Bournemouth's last home game of the season. Atmosphere was pretty good in our stand (behind the goal in the South Stand), although I was sat next to two of the most miserable fans that you could imagine. They made snide comments about near enough everything and left about 20 minutes towards the end when Bournemouth were still 1-0 up! I don't get it. I got a great view of the first Bournemouth goal. I knew it was going in as soon as it left Stanislas' foot, it just seemed destined for the bottom corner. Burnley's equaliser late on silenced the crowd and they looked arguably the better team in the second half. Josh King got the winner and although it was at the opposite end to where we were, you could still get a decent view of it all unfolding due to the size of the pitch and stadium. The game wasn't a classic and was a bit drab at times. Definitely had an end-of-season feel to it. But, nevertheless, I enjoyed it and will hopefully try to go to more games in future. The guy I was with is one of my best friends from work and he's at retirement age. It was like doing my bit for the community, haha. Think Spurs will wallop us today. Not got a great feeling about the game at all.

Well done to Portugal and @Jonnas. A different and unique song, so I can see why it won. This thread was disappointing. Where are all the people? You'd usually get a few pages of good laughs in here and a running commentary.

I'm sad that the "hair guy" (think he was from Montenegro) didn't go through. Gutted. Clear winner right there. UK will probably finish last because we suck at choosing the right songs. Belgium seemed a bit shit in the qualifier, but I think that was down to the sound quality of the performance. Like the music was too low or something. Somebody needs to turn the bass up!
-
It's back, bitches! The qualifiers are on BBCFour right now and the main competition takes place this Saturday. I'm watching the qualifiers right now. Sweden's entry is annoyingly catchy...

Arsenal were the better team today and easily deserved the win. I get that we've got a Europa League semi-final later in the week and played need to be rested and I get that we've got injury problems in key areas. I was actually ok with the starting line-up. I'm not going to grumble at players of Mata, Mkhi and Martial's quality starting the game. But, that performance from the manager and the players today was pathetic. Football is a game and it should always be played with the aim to win that game. We were not playing a Bayern Munich team who are stream-rolling their way through the opposition, or someone like Real Madrid away. It's Arsenal, approaching the end of their current incarnation with a manager (and several players reportedly) on the way out. Today's game was absolutely winnable... There's no excuse for players not going in for tackles and turning your back on the ball on the edge of your box. There's no excuse for wingers being shit with crosses (a key fucking trait for a player in that position, I might add) and there's no reason why players should not be making runs into the box trying to get onto said cross. Strikers should be shooting at goal and hitting the target. Fullbacks should be marking attackers. Mourinho was employed because the last manager played negative football and the outcome is still the same. I struggled today trying to figure out where certain players were playing and why they were there. It just wasn't working. Rest players does not mean you automatically have to play defensively. We played defensively/negatively and still lost...why not just go and have a go and at least come back with some form of morale victory going into Thursday's game? Now we're going there with a defeat, a bad performance, negative feedback from fans and media and discontent from the fans.

4 days is a loooong time for a break. Are you getting enough nutrition and rest in there in between workouts? Are you doing any cardio at all? On the rest days, are you walking around and using those muscles? The body will adapt. If you've been working out with squats for a month or so and you still need 4 days to recover every time, then something isn't right.

Le Pen was really shit in the debate (from the last hour half or so, when I tuned in) and didn't really offer anything. Macron stood up to her and called her out for what she is. She doesn't have any plans whatsoever and the miniscule details that she does have are questionable at best. The fact that Le Pen has made it into the second round shows that the far right are on the up in this section of the world. It most definitely won't be business as usual if Macron wins, but it might go some way to tipping the balance back towards the middle. Europe definitely needs Macron to win to begin to quash some of the other far right parties, who will be taking heart from what Le Pen is achieving. I've accepted that Brexit is happening and that it's going to be a shitfuck. It's out of our hands now. The UK has a poor negotiating position and it's going to be a long couple of years. I've heard people talk about Le Pen being better for the UK in terms of Europe than Macron. I can't agree that the far right is good for anyone except the far right. -
I typed that and then Rashford scores the most difficult one of the night. Typical! Exciting to see how the promoted clubs do. I'm glad to see Brighton up there as I have many fond memories of that place. I think both will stay up, provided they make good signings in the transfer window.

The finishing of this Man Utd side is the worst that I've ever seen in my lifetime. It's really quite bad. What do they do in training?

I guess because she's anti-EU and would push for France to withdraw from the EU, therefore weakening it and potentially leading to its dissolution entirely. A friend of mine said the exact same thing to me today. I think there's a lot of ifs and maybes and too many variables for it to be as straightforward as that. I can only see a comfortable victory for Macron, which is better for the EU as he is all for it. Curious to see how a UK-version of him would do and whether he would be well received. -
You'll be sore to start with and then your body will adapt to the work. The more regularly you exercise, the more your body will adapt and the soreness will disappear. I currently workout roughly every other day. I'm on a similar program to you and I quite like it. It enables me to work all of my muscle groups, so I know I'm not neglecting anything. I supplement this with cardio (elliptical trainer) and additional isolation exercises, particularly for biceps, triceps and back work (lat pulldowns, pull-ups). Doing 5x5 deadlifts at higher weight will absolutely annihilate you and I wouldn't recommend doing that, at least not 5 sets of your highest weight. It's a very taxing exercise and will exhaust you. You don't want to deadlift a heavy weight and damage yourself due to fatigue.

We're living in future history, with two of the most spectacular players to ever play the game doing it week-in, week-out. They'll be talking about both of those players for decades. They are miles above any of the other top players. Sickening stats.
-
Congratulations! That sounds crazy...
-
I'm just going to go into it with low/no expectations. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the games turning up like you mention, @drahkon. But, I also won't be disappointed if they don't appear. I just hope that the big three put on a show worth watching. I'm looking forward to it. The first half of this year has been insane with all of the big releases. I just hope that the second half has some stuff there to carry on that momentum. Looking forward to doing the annual E3 + Chinese food evening.

That Emre Can goal! Video of the goal.
-
That's good enough for me. I'll put it on my watch list. Having a great time with it now. I've got to grips with the mechanics and controls after struggling a tiny bit at the start.
-
I hope Watford put 6 past Liverpool tonight and leave them demoralised for the rest of the season. The reality is that it'll probably be a 0-1 Liverpool away win.
-
I had another go at this last night and I really like it. It almost feels like a game you'd find on a Nintendo handheld or on one of their previous systems. I'm enjoying it and I'm looking forward to going at it again later. How does the sequel differ to this game? Are they both extremely similar or is it a nice evolution?
-
Yeah, I particularly liked the vantage points in this game. The metal flowers were a bit more abstract, but still cool to collect. The world building is great with all of the audio logs and artefacts that you can find. I'm glad to see that the game has been received very well and that it's actually sold. Should mean that we'll definitely get a sequel.
-
Yeah, all of the results are going Liverpool's way. Spurs and Arsenal are drawing, too. A huge missed opportunity for United. Gutted, tbh.
-
Hmm, might just get it in the next sale then. I've got a craving for a game of that sort. Tropico was great fun and I spent a loooot of time on that when it came out. We need more of those type of strategy games on PS4.
