I think it's to do with the pace and build-up of international football. The Premier League is frantic at times and you just go all out and attack. The pace of international football is much slower and more measured. I think the national team is scared of losing, whereas the club teams just don't seem to have as much fear. Maybe because there's a lot less riding on each individual game at league level. Also, controversial, but (Spurs aside) how many of these English players are the best players at their clubs?

Didn't get a chance to post yesterday as I had a busy day and was tired. But wow. Labour have done a fantastic job and it's a fantastic achievement to have gained so many seats with the challenges that a snap election brings. Jeremy Corbyn has had everything thrown at him. The media have been shit, his own party were in-fighting after the referendum and his history and persona have been dragged through the mud. It's a testament to his character that he has managed to convert all that into big fans for the Labour party. Everything reflects badly on the Conservatives. It was the Conservatives who gave us a referendum that wasn't really being asked for, it was the Conservatives who fought amongst themselves during the referendum campaign (hurling mistruths amongst other thing) and it's now the Conservatives who have triggered article 50 and given us a snap election when it was un-needed. Theresa May has come out of this very badly. She criticised Corbyn's history for being sympathetic towards terrorists and she herself is now jumping into bed with them. I don't believe the possibility of a Conservative/DUP coalition was hinted at even once during the election. Her credibility has been shot to pieces and I don't see how she can be taken seriously when she goes to talk about the issue of the UK leaving the EU. All of this time calling a snap election and now reforming a government is taking valuable time out of the Brexit negotiations. You're looking at close to 3 months. Theresa May has got a weaker hand now than she did months ago. Poor leadership.

Greedy opportunistic bitch deserves everything that's happened tonight. After all of the slurs, the misinformation, the in-fighting, the criticism, the huge focus on his policy on nuclear arms...Corbyn has done a fantastic job.

The ex-UKIP voters are going to have a huge say in this. If they mostly go pro-Tory, that'll change things. Also, Wales. If Wales does go Tory, then that'll affect things. Nervous as fuck. Nothing we can do now but wait! Good luck! Let's see what happens.

Somebody on facebook just raised the issue of "shy Tories", who may skew this exit poll. I hope the poll is accurate. I'll be gutted if it turns out to be well off and a huge Conservative win. Tories seem worried tonight, though.

I can see this poll being fairly close to the reality. If it is close, then May has taken the party backwards. How can she lead the country with Brexit if she has managed to fuck this up?

Exit polls show that a hung parliament is a huge possibility. Conservatives on 314 and need 326. May has fucked up!

Yeah, we tried and tried to register the tv and it just didn't work. Gave up in the end as it just didn't seem to be worth the hassle. Can't say I've lost any sleepness nights over it. (please don't break)

That's a bit harsh. He's entitled to his opinion and I've already heard dozens of others outside of this forum say a similar sort of thing. People want something done by those in power and I guess two of those solutions are to either lock them up or deport them (if possible). I'm not saying that these are the right solutions or the "answer", but they are options. I'm not agreeing with him, but we are able to have such conversations here because of the make-up of our society. That's part of what these attacks were about; attacking our freedom to speak our views, to live our lives the way we want to and to conduct ourselves in our own ways. To ignore somebody means you aren't willing to take part in a discussion with them, which goes against the point of a discussion board.

That first part is irresponsible. You're basically sending them away to kill somebody else in a different country, if that's what their intention is. It's morally wrong. Whether they're killing people in Libya or the UK, people are people. They should be imprisoned for it as it's still murder. The policy on what happens in these situations is lacklustre and needs sorting out. I don't know if the problem is underfunding of prisons, not enough intelligence, not enough police to act on intelligence or a combination of all of this, but it needs looking at.

The concerning thing to me is that there have been two reports today that information was passed on by friends and neighbours about these suspects to the police some time ago, yet they were still able to do this. So, my concern is what happens to that information once it does get passed on? Does it just get filed away somewhere? Had these two (out of the three assailants) been acted on, then maybe yesterday would've been prevented. Maybe hindsight is a wonderful thing.

A friend of mine who I went to uni with made a post on facebook about how she was at London Bridge station during the time of the attack. She said it was the most terrifying experience of her life. The staff evacuated everyone through a back entrance and then just told them to keep running. Eventually she managed to get on a bus miles away from the station. 7 confirmed dead + the 3 attackers. As many as 50 injured.

I guess the media are following it up because it's unheard of for a President to conduct themselves in such a way. His behaviour is highly unusual and it's strange that he's connecting with his "audience" in such a bizarre way with his strange tweets. It's even more concerning that he makes remarks about his opposition and other world leaders in such a way. The media focus on it because it is interesting due to it being unusual. At the same time, I think the focus that they've given to him not supporting the Paris Climate deal, and the fallout, has been good. There has been a lot of attention on it and also how other countries (and even states in the USA) have reacted to it.

There's an on-going incident taking place right now. First incident took place on London Bridge. A van struck people walking on the bridge. Reports are saying that people got out of the van and used knives on the passers-by. Second incident taking place at Borough Market. Third incident taking place at Vauxhall. Whitehall is saying that this incident has come by surprise and that there was no intelligence leading up to this incident. More than one death confirmed by police.

I think it's called the Mocha Lounge or Mocha Cafe or something like that. Someone I used to work with back in Wales recommended it, but I never checked it out. I regret it now! I'll be gutted if they buy out DuoLingo. It's main selling point for me is that it's free and it covers a range of themes. It's pretty good and user friendly, imo. I've always been tempted to look at Rosetta Stone but I won't bother now. The problem is that there's loads of stuff aimed at beginner level, but there's not a lot for after that. So, for someone who can do the basics/intermediate stuff and wants to go further.

Was it called Mocha something? Or did it have that word in it?

Yeah, it's really tricky trying to find something that does that. I guess Duolingo does do that since you're mostly learning the words in a sentence or context, which helps. But, it doesn't really teach you how sentences are put together. It shows you examples and you learn through making mistakes and repetition. Maybe we should make an app that does this and earn millions of pounds!

What's it like in terms of learning sentence structures and grammar? It's not vocabulary as such that I'm after, but how to put the information into sentences. Connectives/conjunctions and subordinate clauses and all that.

I've been learning/relearning Spanish and am making good progress with it on Duolingo. What does everyone think about Memrise? What are the positives of it?
