  1. The home gym is virtually complete! This was the original image of the inside of the garage. Basically, it was just used by the previous owners to store rubbish and wasn't used in an efficient way at all. We bought the house with the knowledge that we'd be converting this space into the new gym. This was after the walls and ceiling had been painted. The ceiling itself had been redone as it was just old and manky. We also replaced the garage door from an up-and-over door to french doors, making it easier to get in and out and also providing better and more natural lighting. It was previously extremely dark and dingy in there. These are the new doors: Now...this is what it looks like! We bought some rubber heavy duty gym flooring online and cut that to size. That was fun! It needs a bit of a clean, but it's a huge improvement on what was there beforehand...which was not a lot! We added in an additional plug socket next to @Eenuh's elliptical trainer, as there wasn't one there beforehand. As Eenuh also got a new TV for her birthday, we've recycled my old tv (which was a birthday gift from my Mum yeeeeears ago when I was at uni) and have mounted it to an arm on the wall. It's easy to move around and means that we've got something to look at whilst doing some cardio or weight lifting. My power rack/cage came yesterday! It's the CF475 model by Bodymax and it comes with the Lat pulldown/low pulley attachment. It took hooooours putting it together yesterday and was not a simple exercise at the instructions that came with it were just pure crap. Seriously, some of the worst instructions I've ever seen. The booklet for the pulley system was only three pages long, with one of the pages just showing an image of the finished product. There were no numbered steps and no written instructions. Thankfully, the product is that good that it makes up for that. I'm looking forward to getting back into it. It's been over four months since I've been exercising...my longest time away from it all for a decade.
  2. Yeah, most Arsenal fans I know wouldn't want to see Spurs win a trophy under any circumstances. United's shooting/finishing yesterday was dreadful. Rashford looked good yesterday, but could have had a hat-trick. Ibra left his shooting boots at home and Pogba's missing from about a metre out was just weak. I remember watching United's warm-up before the Chelsea game and noted just how terrible the shooting was. In the same time that it took Chelsea to score a dozen goals in the warm-up, United had only scored one. You had shots that were going into the stands, shots straight at the goalkeeper and most of them going wide. They clearly don't do enough practice in training...
  3. That's a really useful link, cheers for that. Fucking hell, that's a lot to remember!
  4. Barcelona are out. Well done, YOOOOUUUVEY.
  5. Blood and Wine was just so, so hnnnnnnnggg. I could have spent years just walking around Toussaint. One of my favourite gaming locations now. I did love the story in Hearts of Stone, though. They're both good expansions, but Blood and Wine is just something else. It's on another level. Why can't we have moar? That moment where I finally put the game away was depressing.
  6. Dutch has a neutral gender. :p De is both male and female. Het is neuter/neutral. But you have no way of knowing which one to use. De tafel = the table Het boek = the book To make it even more confusing... Het tafelje = the small table De boeken = the books So, the diminutives are always het. Plurals are always de. So...you can have: Het boek = the book Het boekje = the small book De boeken = the books and De tafel = the table Het tafeltje = the small table (oh yeah, some words also get a t added in for their diminutives) De tafels = the tables (some words get the en ending for a plural, some simply get s)
  7. There are rules there in French and Spanish, but not in Dutch. It is random, which is just a pain in the tits. I've been trying to learn it your way, but it can be quite tricky and is just an additional thing to remember. I'll persevere. I'm doing better than this time last year, so I guess that's something.
  8. It's a huge stumbling block for me in Dutch/Flemish and I'm struggling with it atm. I can't do "random", as I need things to make sense in some sort of way in my head. I've tried reading up on it to encounter that "aha!" moment where it all clicks, but all I've found is "yup, it's random, you just have to learn it!" virtually everywhere. I feel like I understand most other things except that. I did some Duolingo the other day and had an excellent sentence all lined up with beautiful grammar and...I failed because I put de instead of het. Fuckkkkkk yoooooooouuuuuuu. I rage quit. I rage quit a language app. Who the fuck does that?!
  9. Yeah, I see what you're saying there. I've often heard people say in the past that BioShock doesn't really need to be an FPS. I guess it's one of those things where the developers/creators have a great idea for a story and world first and then they think about how to attach that to a game afterwards. I definitely got that sense with BioShock, on occasions. There's nothing necessarily wrong with that mindset, it just means that perhaps concepts and ideas won't ever get as fleshed out as they should, as you say. In other news, I'm playing Mortal Kombat XL and am having a fucking really good time with it. It's making me hyped up for the new Injustice game!
  10. That's a pretty crap way for Bayern to go out. I've seen multiple videos of Vidal's second yellow card and it's clearly not even a foul, let alone a red card. I appreciate that it's difficult for ref's to make these decisions in real-time, so why are we still debating this and not just giving them the help that they need through technology? Now, instead of talking about what a great match it was, all of the focus is on the referee. I still find it a bit questionable why we even learn about the referee's names. They should just be a presence to carry out the laws of the game. They are not celebrities.
  11. I'm not sure if objectively is the right word there because I thought that the story, characters and dialogue were much better in Infinite than in both the previous two games. But, I also appreciate BioShock's story for its shock factor and the world in which it creates. The world and atmosphere are both grim, in the best possible sense of the word. It lays down the foundations and writes the rulebook for the rest of the series. Also, I don't think Infinite was/is necessarily trying to recapture the same sort of feelings and atmosphere that you'd get in the original BioShock game. That's very much reflected in its art style, characters and dialogue. It's a different story, but told in the same overarching universe. It's not a straight-up sequel in the same way that 2 was. It's a great trilogy, with each game being memorable and having some form of impact on the gamer playing it, with Infinite being my personal favourite of the lot. However, it would not have been possible without the first game laying the groundwork. In a sense, a sequel is always going to be at a disadvantage in that regard.
  12. I agree with the theme park analogy, but I still love it despite its flaws. I didn't get the impression that it was unfinished and found the whole experience quite satisfying. However, like a lot of other games, there are definitely tons of areas where it could have been more fleshed out. It's not as claustrophobic as the first two games, but I did appreciate how (slightly) more open Infinite felt. I didn't necessarily need the world to feel more alive or full, as it's still quite a linear game, but it's just a nice change of pace to the first two.
  13. We're all beautiful, brah. I love all three BioShock games, but what grabbed me with Infinite was the story that was told, especially the last few hours. The finale just blew me away! The soundtrack and settings in all three games were great, but the third game just took it to a new level for me. I still listen to the soundtrack every now and again on Youtube and it's just...so hnnnnnngggg. Will the circle be unbroken? still gives me shivers. I think that's a strong part of what makes the BioShock games incredible. They are designed to make you feel a bit uncomfortable. The settings and themes are unsettling and quite often you will think to yourself, "hmm, that's a bit wrong!" As a result, it will no doubt turn some people off.
  14. That doesn't bode well for me. My biggest issue with Skyward Sword was the poor narrative and world building.
  15. I think for the sake of the party moving forward, Corbyn needs to be replaced as leader. He can't unite the party and they are nowhere near providing suitable opposition to the Tories, let alone being the viable party in power. It's a shame for the man, because I do think that he is extremely likeable and is a good politician. But, he's just not the right leader for Labour at this present time. The rest of the party are not blameless either because their conduct has been shocking in support of their leader and they've not provided any reasonable opposition to him as leader. Labour are so shit that they can't even provide opposition to Corbyn, the opposition leader.
  16. Yeah, maybe she'll change her mind and do a u-turn. She's quite used to doing that.
  17. Reports are coming in that Theresa May will not be taking part in any televised election debates.
  18. Aww, cheers babe! Hey, wait a minute-
  19. So, John Terry is leaving Chelsea at the end of the season. Thoughts, Chelsea fans?
  20. I'm not ashamed to say that the TRESemme bit killed me. Well played. This snap election just highlights how badly the UK needs a valuable opposition who will at least provide an alternative and try and fight against the party in power. Labour have not sorted themselves out at all and are just not ready for this snap election whatsoever. They are going to get annihilated. The Lib Dems will get some seats and will generally do ok, I feel. But, it won't be enough to stop a Tory landslide.
  21. Theresa May has just announced that an election will be taking place 8th June. Previously, she said that she would not be calling a snap election. *will update with more info later as this has just been announced minutes ago*
  22. I've watched the teaser trailer and am planning to go into the film with no additional of the film at all. No news, trailers, reviews, etc. I LOVE the title "The Last Jedi" and have high hopes of it being a good/great film. Why is December so far away? That's how I'm interpreting it, too. No Jedi = no Sith = balance restored.
  23. I'll be interested to see what you think of the collection. I personally love the settings, themes and characters within it. Infinite is my favourite of the lot.
  24. I'm getting back into Dutch and am throwing in some Spanish too as I was extremely rusty on that. Dutch can just fuck off with the whole "het" and "de" thing, which just seems completely random at times. I find the whole concept of "this object is masculine, this is feminine and this is neuter" to be ridiculous anyway. /rant
