I fancied something a bit short and not too time consuming after finishing Horizon a few days back. We got back from Manchester around noon and I thought I'd give PaRappa the Rapper 2 a try after buying it in the sale after enjoying the demo. I've just finished it and had a fun time with this quirky, nonsensical title. It's packed with humour and charm. My favourite level was the Romantic Karate segment, which I thought was great. The game itself is a bit of a mixed bag. It's challenging, but the timing seems a bit off on occasions. I swear that I had my time just about right, but the game penalises you for it. Also, there are occasions where I felt like I had made tons of mistakes, yet somehow the game forgave me. So, it's a bit off at times. On the whole, I thought it was good fun and would probably have been a favourite of mine had I played it when it first came out. For the couple of quid that I paid for it, it's not a bad little game to have in your collection. I GOTTA BELIEEEEEVE! Have you tried purchasing it off the webstore instead of on the PS4 itself or the App? If not, Tales' bit about the verification sounds like it could be right.

@Eenuh pulled a blinder and managed to organise a long weekend over in Manchester for us, including tickets to the game against Chelsea. We also went to the Arcade Club in Bury, which was just fantastic. I know the atmosphere in Old Trafford often gets criticism, but I thought that the crowd were superb yesterday. Really, really fantastic. I checked up on the Red Cafe forums after the game and similar things were said there. Eenuh said that she had a sore throat after the game, so that's something, haha. The Stretford End and parts of the East Stand were just great for the entire match. Rashford had an excellent game yesterday and just ran the Chelsea defence all over the place. However, I thought both Herrera and Fellaini were outstanding yesterday. I know Herrera is getting all of the plaudits as he man-marked Hazard out of the match (as well as assisting the first and scoring the second), but Fellaini was just fantastic to watch, too. He covered so much ground and was everywhere he needed to be. Herrera's movement and energy was crazy. I'm a massive fan of his and think it's only time before he's the next captain. A great team performance and a completely superb experience that I'll remember for a long time.

I really enjoyed that video. Very informative and it goes a long way to showing how much effort went into this game. That's a long development cycle, though. Could be that we don't see a sequel for quite some time, then. Although, the framework and mechanics are all there, which should help speed things up.

Finished the story today. My thoughts can be found in the game diary. Holy fuck, that was brilliant. Lived up to the hype!

This evening, I ploughed through to the end of Horizon: Zero Dawn and have a lot of great things to say about my time with this masterpiece! I was initially a bit dubious about playing through this game as I wasn't gripped by the idea of tribes and robotic dinosaur-things. However, after hearing so many people on here bigging-it-up, I decided to just go for it. First of all, this is graphically one of the most stunning games that I've played. It looks even better on @Eenuh's new tv! I have no idea how it can look even better on PS4 Pro...it must just melt your face off! There were so many moments where I just stopped exploring or whatever I was doing and plunged into the game's photo mode, which should really become a standard feature for all games, imo. The combat is outstanding. It really is. You can approach each battle in your own way. You can go stealth, you can override creatures or you can go all guns blazing. Even then, there's a tactical element with how you fight due to the way that you can target specific parts of the creature, freeze them, etc. By the end of the game, I was switching between 3 or 4 (sometimes 5) weapons and then switching between arrow-types. Sometimes I'd lay a blast tripwire, then shoot a round of fire arrows before switching to the precision arrows and targeting specific points. It's just brilliant. There's depth with the different types of enemies too, as they all have different weaknesses and weakspots and so forth. One area that I think it underrated is definitely the music. There were tons of occasions where I travelled along a beautiful landscape or through a forest and then some kind of atmospheric music would subtly come through. It helped accent some of those moments and that just highlighted the beauty of the world that you were exploring. The story definitely went through the gears towards the second third and became so much more fantastic.

I did the opposite and just gorged on it whenever I could. So difficult to put down. I'd recommend doing Hearts of Stone first before going into Blood and Wine. Definitely do both. Don't forget Bloodborne, either.
-
When you say DLC, I take it that you mean Blood and Wine, too? I loved both expansions, but Blood and Wine in particular is something else.

Just did a nice sidequest:

What do we think the price will be for this then? Obviously, it won't be the same cost as Uncharted 4. Around the £25 mark? An August release isn't that far away. Semi-interested.

I didn't follow the game at all, but I figured it would be a routine Arsenal win. Massively shocked at the 3-0 scoreline at the end. The uncertainty of whether Wenger is going or staying has filtered down to the players. It's one of those situations that should have been resolved a lot earlier and may end up contributing to Arsenal not getting top four now.

I've pumped around 37 hours into this now. I've spent most of yesterday and today just trying to upgrade my resources, ammo capacity, etc. I've upgraded all my weapons to their Shadow variants, except the Rattler, which I'm still in the process of doing. My carry capacity is maxed out. I'm loving this, especially the combat. I love finding the vantage points and seeing the memories of the old world, including when you come across them in the main quest.

I've had a pretty awesome weekend of football. One of the parents for one of the boys that I teach invited me along to watch Bournemouth play against Chelsea. His company is one of the sponsors for the club and they are basically given all of this hospitality stuff. Obviously, I had to get it cleared by the Headteacher, but he just said to go along and enjoy myself...so I fucking did! We had a three course meal before the game and the seats for the match were awesome. The great thing about Bournemouth's stadium being so small is that you feel really close to the pitch. I can't say that I've ever been a really big fan of Victor Moses, but I thought he was class yesterday. Can't remember him losing the ball once or misplacing a pass. Hazard was by far the best player on the pitch. Really, reeeeally fucking quick when he wants to be. Bournemouth really struggled to keep up with him. Courtois seems unfairly tall for a goalkeeper and should be made to play on his knees. I'm a big fan of Josh King and was delighted with his goal. I even got to congratulate him after the game, which was pretty cool. I thought Wilshere was a bit meh at times yesterday. Can definitely see why he's not made it at Arsenal and thought he was a bit negative. Sideways passes and no real determination or grit to his tackling. Couldn't get anywhere near that Chelsea midfield. I managed to get a lift down to the Dad's house and the stadium was within walking distance. I woke up this morning with a glorious hangover after I don't know how many ciders. How the other half live, eh? It's insane that people get to do this every single week! I felt like a right pauper being there. Had a great time and was just what I needed after an insanely busy term. Also happy that United won their game with Rashford scoring a goal.

I'll buy it if you play The Witcher 3. Deal?
-
I bought... Dragon Age: Inquisition Deluxe Edition - £2.99! The Walking Dead: Michonne - £4.99 PaRappa The Rapper 2 - £3.29 Wolfenstein: The Old Blood - £3.99. Spent just over £15. I almost bought Mirror's Edge Catalyst, Volume and a few others. I love me some deals.

I've tried wearing my glasses, I've used a different browser and I've even restarted my laptop. But, no matter how many times I check, I just can't seem to find The Witcher 3 in your picture. @Blade, can you find it?
-
How about...The Pumping Station? The Pump Room? Casa Del Pumpo?

Shit performance against Everton. We couldn't cross the ball to save our lives and the supporting runs and general all-round build-up was poor. We relied far too much on getting high balls into the box from wide and barely won any of them. Didn't really look like scoring. Too many draws this season, which is ultimately going to cost up the top four spot. United don't score enough goals. Right now, 5th/6th best is about right.

We've been hard at work improving the garage, which is going to become the new gym! These photos don't really show the true extent of the work, but we've basically had to empty out all of the crap that was in there. We've also had the ceiling plastered and have completely removed the up-and-over garage door and frame with a new PVC French door. Old pics: New pics: This is only after one coat on paint and we're planning to apply three! The next thing on our list is a power cage. That's going to go on the left hand side of the room, with @Eenuh's cross-trainer on the right hand side, closer towards the door, which is at the front of the image (unseen). I've ordered the flooring already, which should get here later this week. It's a heavy duty rubber gym mat, the type that you'd find in a commercial gym. It's around 12mm thick and is about 1.8m by 1.2. Should look fantastic when it's in! It's going to be exciting to work out in this room and I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of it.

Awesome, awesome moment just now. I found a whole herd of Tramplers and they were accompanied by one or two Longlegs. I thought I'd try and take them on, so I laid out a whole load of shockwires and blastwires. I managed to take out the Longlegs, but the Tramplers were fucking hard. I found a stream nearby and noticed how the Tramplers wouldn't get me if I crossed. So, I made a plan of laying out Tripwires, hitting a few of them with Tearblast arrows and then kept running in for critical hits before retreating. Without exaggeration, I must have been going for close to 40 minutes before one of them managed to hit me from behind and kill me. It was an intense fight. God, those tramplers are difficult!

I've spent most of my time playing against the AI. I played one match online and lost by something stupid like...3 points or something. Won the first round, lost the second and then lost the final round by barely nothing. Building your deck seems to be the key. I'm definitely going to be playing the full release, so I hope that it is fairly balanced out. I'm sure it will be. CD Projekt GOAT.

I'm level 21 now and am just running around trying to upgrade my resources and just trying to find as many new things as possible, particularly sidequests. Not sure what was going on the other day, it must have been tiredness. I love this game.

Downloaded the beta and I LOVE IT. I need it naow. The Witcher's universe is incredible. It's awesome looking at the cards and being able to identify where and when they appear in the universe. I was a bit gutted that the Gwent music from The Witcher 3 wasn't in the beta...until I found that it was disabled in the settings, for some reason. I've enabled it and it's just brilliant having those tunes back. HEEEEEY! HUH HUH HEEEEEEEEEEY!

That...makes a lot of sense. I don't think that there's any problems with that. Hmm...now I'm fucking tempted.
