I haven't backed it yet. For 15euros you get a digital version of the game. Does that include a possible PS4 version? I know that's one of their stretch goals.

That last game (5-5!) was unbelievable. It was all the little things that combined together to make the whole thing hilarious. The formation, the amount of people you could pass to in the final third, the stop-motion style lag that occurred when your internet wanted to eat itself (that was funny!) and the shoddy lack of defending from both of us. Fairytale ending too with the last minute penalty equaliser! Really enjoyed that. 3-1-6 is definitely the future! My defenders just did not know who to pick up; it was a nightmare!

I tried playing Arkham City on the WiiU's screen and it was an absolute nightmare. The scale of the game is too great and although the game takes place in a city, there are lots of alleyways and tight streets. It's a big screen experience. I can't imagine trying a game like Assassin's Creed on such a small screen like the 3DS'.

Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!
Fierce_LiNk replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Don't worry, I'm thick skinned. :p I fully admit that I'm not Nintendo's biggest fan these days. I hope that the Switch is the start of something new and that Nintendo can kick on from here. We'll see. I'm a cautious observer at the moment. -
Is the Switch powerful enough to run Andromeda? Did it ever get clarified how exactly it matches up to the PS4/One?

Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

So, you would say it's a satisfactory launch? The "being down on Zelda" thing is a separate argument that I already pointed out. It's not to do with Nintendo and Zelda, but rather journalists and media and their ability to generate (at times, obscene) levels of hype for their own agendas. I already closed that argument down with my post in the Zelda thread, so we can move on from that. Yeah, I can see some sense with holding games back to stagger releases. That's fine. Provided that you have enough games (from a variety of sources...such as third parties) to plug the gap. Otherwise you end up with droughts. There are already people on here talking about having nothing to play for ages after Zelda. -

Lack of clarity with regards to key features, including online functions. Not a great deal of games during the launch window being the main one and it all being rather unclear. It's clear that everything was planned around getting it out before the end of March, the end of the fiscal year. Hey, I'm not just going to blindly follow them and agree with every single thing that they do just because they're Nintendo. Blind loyalty isn't a good thing. -
A big bump for an old thread, but I had a craving to go back to 2033 Redux as I didn't get around to finishing it. I started it last night and am probably around a quarter/a third of the way through so far. Dare I say it, I'm probably enjoying it more this time around than I did originally. I love the setting and atmosphere!

Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

This is more of a "rushed launch" than anything. Although the marketing is on point and Nintendo should receive praise for that. -
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Fierce_LiNk replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I still don't agree. The screenshots, videos, previews and reviews all indicated one thing. It received immense feedback at the time. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. (Although it looks like we both agree that Skyward Sword really isn't a good/great game) -
I haven't played FIFA in a while and I was having such a nice time talking that the football came second really. I'm not mega-serious about FIFA.

I don't really understand what you mean when you say it was "very, very clear". If all of the previews and reviews are indicating one thing, why would you not go along with that line of thought? You can search for other reviews from other multi-format places (like Edge) if you want, you'll just find more of the same information that was provided earlier. Yup, Hero clears this one up. (I was seconds away from posting that, haha) Well, you remember wrong! We had the Zelda concerts in the UK to coincide with the 25th Anniversary of the series, so there was a huge Zelda fanfare at the time. The hype was off the scale. -
I'm optimistic about this. I feel the same way about this as I did before I played Rise of the Tomb Raider in that I feel that both games will be great games without really changing anything or adding anything to the gaming landscape. I dunno, just the vibe I'm getting. It looks really beautiful and I like the look of the combat. Will wait until Easter or the summer until I get around to it.

I still maintain that Rokhed was a really nice person. We used to chat all the time on MSN (the GOAT) and had lots of laughs. I don't know what happened but Rokhed really changed all of a sudden towards the end. It was sad. There must have been loads going on off-line that we never knew about or found out.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Fierce_LiNk replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
This is from @Hero\-of\-Time or @Blade say that's something worth playing, then there's no reason to doubt them as they have no other agendas. -
Cheers for the games, @nekunando. That was really fun and just an all-round nice evening. Even if I did get my arse repeatedly kicked. (what a great final game, though!) @dazzybee, so sorry, dude. I typed up a message after you sent your last one and I thought I hit send. I think it literally got sent to you as you signed out!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

I'm also sceptical as I remember all of these outlets also going crazy over Skyward Sword and labelling it as the best Zelda since Ocarina, the best Zelda ever, etc. It's very similar to how BotW is being hyped up. -
Give us a shout Nando if you fancy playing some more after playing Lost and Dazzy. Also, I've found my headset after tearing the house apart and finding it hidden within the first place we looked...right at the bottom. @lostmario, we can play a few if you fancy it?

Braaaah, we're all mad heeeeeere.

I'm not sure if it'll help you, but here's what I do for my Dreamcast. I play it upside down. Yup. I physically turn the Dreamcast upside down. When it's the right way up, I get all kinds of errors and games will stop working halfway through and all sorts. I searched high and low all over the internet and came across another person who had a similar issue to me and his solution was to turn his Dreamcast upside down to enable it to work. I thought "why the fuck not?" and tried it...and it worked like an absolute fucking dream. My Dreamcast plays anything now with zero issues. So, there we are. You can't say that it's not a machine with character. Apparently there are all sorts of issues with the system.

I'll be up for a few games a bit later. I'm not sure where my mic is, I'll try and track that down, too. We're getting the tea ready atm, I'll be up for a few later on tonight.

NASA discovers Solar System full of Earth-like planets
Fierce_LiNk replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
Although it's not really anything new in a scientific manner, tidally locked planets blow my mind. I think about what it must be like to live on these planets and to only ever see daylight or darkness. Permanent darkness sounds fucked up. -
I did actually scream when I saw the *ahem* new sig. I love the "effort" that's gone into it.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to Detroit now. The initial teaser piqued my interest, but I'm super excited now after playing Heavy Rain and Beyond. I want to play more games in the style of Heavy Rain. I love that crime/noir style. I'd class games like Hotel Dusk to be in the same style. Wish there were more of them.

This does raise an interesting point about managers getting the flack. Just like Ranieri didn't single-handedly win them the title, he also didn't get them into their current predicament by himself either. Why are the players allowed to carry on picking up their wages and keep their livelihoods when they are the ones who step over that white line and underperform? Players aren't machines that are programmed by managers to do their bidding. They think for themselves and they should take the blame, too. I remember when Chelsea sacked Mourinho (apparently engineered through player power by people like Costa and Fabregas) and won their next game 3-1. Players are quick to turn it on and off when they feel like it.
