I'm trying to work out what you actually do in this game. I wonder if one of the "ways" to play the game is like Pokemon Snap. He mentioned that you don't collect plants but you can discover them. I wonder if you're some kind of researcher, going to each planet to research different creatures or plants, or something to that effect. Could even be a mission or quest (or objective, seeing as he said that there are many objective markers in the game). So, go to A, get mission to go to B to find C, photograph C on B then return to A. Could be one way to play? Aside from that, I have no idea how this game will work. EDIT: OMGGGGGG, 65DaysofStatic are doing the soundtrack for this game?! When did this happen?

We had our Christmas production just over a week ago and I ended up running the whole thing. It kinda went like this: - Head of Junior School decided that we were going to do a certain play. I tried doing the cast list before half term but ran out of time. - Spent a few hours assigning parts to ALL children in our junior school, so that they all either had a speaking part or sang a solo. They all had to sing the songs anyway. - I photocopied all of the scripts, got my class to write the names of each child on top, highlighted the parts for each corresponding child and delivered them personally. - I uploaded all of our songs, scripts and lyrics onto the school server so they could access the lot in their own time. - I cross-checked all of the timetables for each class with when the hall was free to organise rehearsals, to minimise the loss of lessons and make things efficient. - I decided on what they needed to wear for costumes and instructed the kids on this. - I led each rehearsal like a director. - I, along with another teacher, set up the stage ourselves after the people that were meant to be doing it didn't bother. It took us hours. Basically, I ended up taking on a lot of this stuff on the fly. I didn't get instructed that it was my responsibility, the head of junior school was busy, so it ended up being either I take it on or it doesn't get done. The show was a massive success and I've had chocolates and presents given to me from children outside of my class, saying thanks to be given an opportunity to take part in this. I've also received a lovely email from a parent saying how it was lovely and got a big mention in the school newsletter, as well as recognition from both the head of junior school AND the actual head teacher. Good luck, brah. Not really a lot anyone can say to make you feel better, as it must be an agony to wait. Like you said, there are multiple possibilities, so it doesn't mean it's all bad news yet. Pretty shit that the doctor couldn't get you an earlier appointment, though.

You free at all on Wednesday evening? I've got work til 6 and am going around to a friend's place til about 8, so should be ok after that? Is that fine? Other than that, we could do Thursday any time.

Nice one. That'll be the combo we go for then. Think I'll give Ine the Pro Controller and I'll give the Classic Controller/pro a go. Any others who join in can just make do with Wiimotes since I haven't got the money to buy more controllers.
-
See, you start off the post well by understanding that different people like different things, before throwing a mild hissy fit. :p There's nowt really wrong with anything that I said. I do wish Nintendo would take one base design for a controller and just build onto that and improve it. (it's called evolution) It was a pain going from the N64 to GC controller for Smash and you essentially had to re-learn everything, same when you moved up to Wiimotes. In the end, I gave up playing with the Mote and used the wavebird. I don't really like playing with the Wiimote and Nunchuk for Smash, so may give the classic controller a try as we only have one pro controller. Does one person HAVE to use the GamePad or can you have player 1 as Pro Controller and player 2 as Wiimote/Classic Controller?
-
I've got the Pro Controller, which I guess is alright. I'm not keen on using the GamePad because it's...crap, really. Wiimotes are compatible, I assume? Could link up a classic controller. Meh, wish I could just use the GC controller orrrrrr even for Nintendo to just "build" their new controller on top of the previous models, like Microsoft and Sony do. That way, there isn't a huuuuge difference between each iteration. Going from N64 to GC to Wiimote to GamePad/Pro Controller is a pain in the tits.
-
The answer to that is that the N64 was the first entry point by Nintendo into the 3D-era, whereas they had reached the pinnacle of the 2D-era with the SNES. Goldeneye in particular looks very rough now.

That's similar to what I did. Maybe 2-3 hours and then stop. Sometimes I'd go a few days without playing before going back into it and getting my nerves shattered over again. :p It's not the type of game you can binge on for 12 hours straight and then do that 5 times during a week. I could see it becoming a bit repetitive then, especially with the mission structure of the game.

I've managed to break the 100kg barrier for squats! My legs are beginning to feel bigger and stronger, especially during the past week or so. They are also feeling more tired and I'm grateful for the rest days. Everything else is progressing. Overhead Pressed 45.5kg yesterday and managed it relatively comfortably for the first three sets, but didn't do quite so well for the remaining two. The problem is that Christmas is here and we'll be going to Belgium to see Ine's family. A shame to take a break now as I'm doing well with this.

I'm not sure you'll like it. It is VERY slow paced in places and you will only really make it through the game (on hard difficulty) if you take the slow and cautious approach. It's not for everyone. Plus, you have to be in love with the licence to really appreciate what this game is about. Aside from that, it's a fantastic survival horror that has so little emphasis on combat and more so about planning about. I spent about an hour trying to make it out of a large room when I first got the game because the Alien was about patrolling the corridors. I hid in lockers, waited, moved a few footsteps to another hiding place and did this over and over until I was free. Had I tried to make a run for it, I would have been killed instantly. It is, by far, the most tense and fear-inducing game that I've ever played. There were instances where I'd make it to the end of the level/chapter and I've have to wipe my palms on my jeans/trousers to get rid of all the sweat.

The FPS argument is boring. Nobody really wins with that one. Also, Child of Light (or what I saw Ine play of it) was wonderful. Soundtrack was gorgeous, in particular. The story/writing seemed fit for purpose, imo. Also also, the list is completely null and void because of the lack of Alien: Isolation.
-
We bit at that price. Although, I think we went with the mentality of "we're not going to find it cheaper, so may as well" rather than "we want this game, give it naow".
-
I have finished eeeeet! Oh my god, I'm (not) going to sleep for a month. I'm exhausted, but still terrified. My legs were shaking during one of the final sequences.
-
I'm on the final chapter! Chapter/Mission 17 was a bitch.

The second goal was offside, but I can understand how the linesman missed it. He's ground level, the flight of the ball makes it difficult to see if RvP gets a touch on it and Mata is on-side when the ball initially is crossed in. He's only got one chance to get it right, so to be able to spot the touch and re-evaluate the position of Mata is difficult in such a short space of time. Thanks to the replay, it's clear to see that it is offside and RvP came out afterwards and admitted that he had got a touch.
-
I'd love to play but we'll be cooking our tea pretty soon. Might be able to come on afterwards, though.
-
A 3-0 win with our defensive injury problems is a great result. De Gea was great and guaranteed us the clean sheet. After him, I thought Carrick and RvP looked really good today. Compared with the same fixture a year ago, we have come a long way. Moving forward, we obviously need a commanding central defender and then we're good to go. Make that two defenders (one of them possibly being a right back) and we're talking.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

Nope, I feel the same. Best boss fights and dungeons by far. 1. Twilight Princess 2. Ocarina of Time 3. Majora's Mask (these are the best three) 4. Wind Waker Skyward Sword. -
Sorry, I had my notifications turned off. We were watching a film the other night and had turned them all off, forgot to put them back on. I did shiiiiit. I couldn't get the ball forward enough. Although, we did hit the post in the first half (which apparently didn't register as a shot or shot on target!) and that chance at the end...I screamed at the telly when RvP didn't shoot. Just one touch too many. Good game. For our first away performance, it's not too bad.

I'm the away team, so I think you have to set it up?

I'm ready when you are. I've sent you a message.

I have to say that the weather update has made this game hit a whole new level of awesomeness. Dynamic weather and time transitions put together are just so fucking hnnnngggggggg. I played on a track earlier in Norway that started off at midnight/early hours of the morning. Pitch black with heavy snow. Couldn't see shit. It then eased off before going to no snow and then became heavy again. Whilst that was going on, it became early morning, making it much easier to see. It's incredible, tbh. Visually, it looks stunning. I'm glad I stuck with it and it seems like a bargain at the price that we paid for the pre-order. Digital, too, part of the reason why I play it so much.

Seriously, get a PS4 and DriveClub. I'm playing it right now and @Cookyman and several others will vouch for just how good it is. The track I just raced on featured heavy rain and lightning at night. The track before it transitioned between heavy snow, light snow and no snow (only briefly no snow, mind) before going back to heavy snow on a track in Norway that started off in the early hours of the morning before daylight broke through. The handling is fantastic, it's challenging, there's the online and also challenge aspects. It had tons of problems at launch but is now running really well and is the real deal.
