I'd like to play your idea of the game. Imagine if there's one central island or mass of land in the game with a few bigger islands that you can either sail, surf or fly to. You could even have a second biiig island that is connected by cycling road. Maybe you're free to travel to any gym leader that you want to, but perhaps you could even block off certain paths will abilities that you don't have until much later on. There's a lot of different ways of doing it. There's potential there for proper sidequests with full on animation and voice acting. Making a character is sick and you have to cycle or fly to the next town to pick up medicine, but run into trouble on the way. Maybe there's one town that's haunted by a Ghastly, but once you defeat the Pokemon the area is cleared and the residents come back. There's huge potential there to make interesting storylines that branch off the main quest. The Witcher 3 has shown me how storylines really should be done in an RPG and I could see the same sorta world existing in a Pokemon game.

Arkham City is fantastic. Looks great as well on the big screen. However, it is the one game which really put me off the whole WiiU Off-TV screen thing. I tried playing that on the GamePad screen and it is just so incredible difficult to see what the hell you're doing or where you're flying. It's designed for the big screen.

I've gone off Muse big time since Black Holes, but Merrrrrrrccccyyy has been stuck in my head all week and it's one hell of a tune. Especially right before the chorus.

I think Juventus would be absolutely bat-shit crazy to sell either Vidal or Pogba. If Pogba is City-bound, then I can't see Vidal going. In truth, I think both will stay where they are. Would love Vidal at United.

There's a danger it could get lost, but I think it could still have a good buzz around it and it's still different enough to get people's attention. I'd be delighted to just be playing it by the end of this year. Hoping for a firm date soon!

Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!
Fierce_LiNk replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
The difference is that PlayStation was a new brand. Xbox was a new brand. To an extent, the Wii was a new brand in itself. Nintendo's situation is different to what was achieved with the PlayStation and Xbox as they were both new to the market. Nintendo aren't new to the market. They've been in it for such a long time and people will have their own viewpoints on them as a company. It's harder for them to turn it around since they basically have to change the viewpoints of a lot of gamers. We're even seeing it here. How are Nintendo going to show and prove to the gamers that the machine will be getting third party support three or four years into the new system's life, for example? How are they going to win back FIFA onto their system? Changing the public opinion towards Nintendo will be just as hard as both of these questions and it'll require a LOT of work. -
True, he was a bit of a bastard. I wanted to keep him alive out of curiosity for the reward he talked about. A friend of a friend has just started The Bloody Baron storyline. I am jealous that I'll never get to do that for the first time evaaar again.

Right, where to begin? Could Pokemon be done on a home console? Absolutely yes. Will it be done? Absolutely not. First of all, what exactly makes a Pokemon game different to everything else out there and can that be translated from a handheld/portable experience to a home console one? The first thing that springs to mind (to me) is the basic core gameplay, which is to catch numerous Pokemon and use them to defeat opponents and gym leaders. That's the core game, right there. The game is made more interesting by the fact that you can trade and battle with your friends. When I was growing up, we had a group of mates who lived in the same street as us and we lost our shit when we all completed our Pokedexes for the first time. It was a great feeling. Can these be translated into a home console experience? In my opinion, yes. There's been talk over the years about making a home console Pokemon game and featuring EVERY Pokemon that exists and including all of the worlds that have been discovered. Using abilities such as fly to travel from one side of the map to the other, using surf, using strength or cut to remove obstacles and unlock hidden areas. There is tremendous potential there. We're missing a huge trick here by simply stating that all home consoles provide is the ability to improve graphics. They do so much more than that. With more power, you can build a vast landscape, you can create oceans which you can swim in full 3D movement, you have improved sound, you have the ability to use voice acting, you have more disc space to be able to store such a huge world, you have the processing power to handle more objects on screen at once, more animations, a more complex AI, more potential basically for everything. However, and this is why I think it won't happen, it is a lot of work. It'll be a lot of work for Game Freak and/or Nintendo to be able to pull this off. Is it easier for them to create this: Or this: Especially with hardware being more advanced, the time and cost to create something as expansive as Pokemon on a home console will just be too great for Game Freak. I'm not convinced that they would be able to pull it off. It would be too time consuming, it would require a lot of money and it would also require the technical know-how to be able to create the game that we want. Especially in HD. I'm not particularly cut up about it as there are loads of RPGs out there anyway, including Ni No Kuni which has been mentioned a few times already. A part of me feels that maybe the ship for this has sailed a long time ago anyway. It's one of these fanboy dreams that, if realised, could potentially be incredible, but I can't see it happening.

There have been rumours of a November release. I can see it happening, tbh. There seems to be a lot of "cool and peaceful" vibes coming from this game. I think it'll gain a cult following quite quickly. This game appeals to the inner-child in me; the one who used to watch films like 2001: A Space Odyssey and the old Star Trek tv series. Being able to just discover new worlds and venture into space without really a clue about what was going to turn up.

Remembering The Capcom Five

Killer7 was awesome. Beautiful graphics style, characters who oozed coolness and...the single most fucked up and confusing plot of a videogame evaaaaaar. I remember THAT document that somebody created to try to make some understanding of the plot. It was something like 74 pages long. I read all of it. ALL OF IT. Just to try and make some sense of the game. I really enjoyed No More Heroes 1 and 2, too. Moar Suda51, please. -
I still don't know what to make of Benteke. I don't think he's consistent enough to really do it at a team aiming for the title. Think he could be good for a team in the top half of the table. He's an Everton or Spurs kinda player, imo. (which, I guess, would make him a Liverpool player too since they're not going for the title, no wind up)

Muramasa is lovely. From what I remember, there's two paths, as you can play as two characters that start at either end of the map. I think I only completed it with one character. Game is great. I can't remember it's length in terms of hours, but it wasn't very short at all. Think you could get 8 or more hours out of it? Just play it and enjoy it.

I fucked up a decision in one of the quests yesterday.

Lost it at his fascination with Square Enix's carpet. The descriptions were brilliant. -
This is the definition of dumb action popcorn filmage. It's pretty shit but watchable in an ITV2 play it three times a week but watch it once a year type of thing.

So...they couldn't have got Sanchez then, as Liverpool never has or never will be in London. I think it could be a good signing. Could be good, could be disappointing, who knows really? We won't know until he starts playing, but at least it's a statement of intent.
-
The game is stunning, isn't it? I've taken tonsssss of screen shots. I think I'll need to upload them some time this week. The only thing I think that could possibly make this game even better is the inclusion of a photo mode. Hnnnggggggg.
-
I'm playing that other game that neither of you mentioned! DatWitcher3. Hnnnnggg. Also, has Batman now. Tree fiddy. You funny kid, etc.

I think both compliment each other nicely. I'll be getting both.

Metroid Prime Wii U not likely to happen
Fierce_LiNk replied to Retro_Link's topic in Nintendo Gaming
FFVII is a long time coming, so I imagine that's well underway. The Last Guardian seems to be nearing completion after a long saga and I'll be surprised if it doesn't hit in 2016. Like you said, Shenmue 3 is the exception and that won't be out for a long, long time. However, just news that it's coming is a big deal. (FFXV also looks stunning, thanks for reminding me, huhuhu) -
That's not so bad then. It's odd, you'd think Spider-man would translate well onto the big screen. Can't say that I'm fond of any of them, although they're decent in places. Thought Amazing Spider-man was doing ok up until the shiiiiiiittty last 15/20 minutes.

Yaaaay, more Spider-man origin stuff. *vomits into own mouth*

Metroid Prime Wii U not likely to happen
Fierce_LiNk replied to Retro_Link's topic in Nintendo Gaming
This is where I think there's a contradiction. Of course Nintendo fans want moar Metroid. That's never changed. But, I find it a little unsettling that they're not working on it right now or at least have something to show us. To me, that shows that they don't view the series in the same regard as Mario or Zelda. Anyway, I can see the benefits of not revealing games until they're closer to completion. But, by not showing the longer term projects that are being worked on, they're potentially pissing off gamers (including new customers). After Xenoblade (and Zelda, whenever that comes), what is there? I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to show things off that are coming a bit further on down the line. On a side note, I miss the old Reggie.
