  1. That makes a lot of sense and I could see that happening. The danger with this is that Nintendo could stretch themselves too thin.
  2. I got the controller condom. @Eenuh referred to it as a condom as well, it made me laugh, especially feeling the texture of it. Putting it on felt very...sexual. I must be mad, but I quite like it...in a bondage and latex kind of way. Might just keep it on now.
  3. I take it you're enjoying it then? :p I'm going to destroy The Witcher before I start this. My copy has arrived and I'm basically going to plough through both of these games back to back. Bring it ooonnn.
  4. I think the depth and scale of it all is throwing me. Also, the whole "not an mmo" bit has confused me. I think it'll be one of those games you just need to play for yourself to fully understand. I want it in my hands right now so I can see it for myself. The whole idea of it is wonderful, very retro-sci-fi.
  5. Haha, I don't really get why I don't get it either. When I think I finally understand it, some bit of information is revealed which confuses me. So, it's not an mmo. Single player? Any kind of multiplayer? Will I be playing in the same universe as you or anybody else? If I find a planet, can I direct others to get there? It's basically like Star Trek in space, I think. To boldly go where no man has gone before. To explore and discover and...mine.
  6. The more I seem to learn about this game, the more questions I seem to have. I think I know what it is, without really knowing what it really is, if that makes sense. I just want to play it now. This is where all of that information is taken from.
  7. Exactly the same one @S\.C\.G mentioned. : peace: I got it for around £30 thanks to some vouchers that I had lying around.
  8. Why bother going to the effort? By the time NX rolls around, everybody who wants to play the game will have already done it by then. Also, the NX won't have the install base of the other systems by then, as it'll be just released (possibly) (also, we don't even know what the NX is or if it could even handle the game)
  9. @Goron_3 @Retro_Link £4.60
  10. I've spoken to @Rummy as he's been dealing with most of Ronnie's stuff, so he's continuing to deal with that, including the bits you just mentioned. We'll leave it there for now, as said in the bold part of Rummy's last post.
  11. That feature hit a few months back, so yeah, that's also an option. Kinda wish that was out when I switched HDDs. I would have transferred my videos across had I had that option. Also agree with you about the cloud save limit being too small. That's an area that MS/XboxOne has over Sony/PS4 as that has unlimited cloud saves.
  12. He held the interview well because the questions being aimed his way were so easy to respond to. I'm surprised they didn't offer him his choice of dessert during that interview. It was pretty shit, really. Pretty disappointing, tbh. There were opportunities to call him out and actually get down to the nitty gritty, but they went down the safe, nice Nintendo route.
  13. Lol, The Capcon Five. What a backfire that turned out to be. It's almost a perfect representation of how bad Nintendo's relationships are with third parties. Five apparently exclusive games. One of them cancelled and three go third party...leaving one exclusive. Hardly a good success rate. Killer 7 was my favourite out of the lot, but it's amazing how this deal turned out in the end.
  14. He's done things wrong beforehand, yes. And he's received punishments before, such as infractions. In this particular instance (this thread), I've not noticed anything that I consider ban-worthy, but I do agree that the Wii-quoting is irritating and we're trying to put a stop to that.
  15. Your trophies are synced to your account. Your game saves are either stored on the cloud or can be stored on a usb stick. I stored mine on the cloud and then redownloaded them later as installing the new HDD. Your dlc is also synced to your account. So, for example, if you played the AWESOME INCREDIBLE ALIEN ISOLATION HNNNNNG dlc, you'd swap the HDD over, insert the game disc/download the game again, redownload/trade across your saves on your usb stick and carry on. It's relatively painless. Swapping the HDD over took me less than an hour. Redownloading all of my games took hours, though, so you could do that overnight. Once it's done though, it's a great feeling to see how much space you have afterwards. I went down the 2tb route and never looked back.
  16. He's not really done anything to require banning from the forum full stop. Nobody has sent a PM to my inbox about him, nobody has quoted which rules he's broken and, as far as I know, no other mods or 'mins have been contacted about Ronnie. If he's really causing you that much upset, use the ignore user function. He's just a fanboy, you get tons of these on the internet. I'm pretty sure Ronnie would be able to point the finger at others on the "opposite side" and claim the same thing. We're just going to have to learn to get along, because you still want this place to be one where everybody can have their say, even if we don't necessarily agree with it. There's plenty of others who are willing to engage in interesting discussion, @King_V and @Grazza being some of them. I've had no problem in the past saying to the other staffers if I felt one person was particularly crossing the line, but in this instance I consider Ronnie to just be a blind fanboy.
  17. Yeah, I found out about the multiple saves a few days ago. Pretty cool, heh. I can't believe that I could have missed out on this had I stayed WiiU-only.
  18. Straight off the bat, the WiiU looks poor with the lack of sports titles. That covers a wide spread of gamers. The problem with you is that you twist the truth to suit your own agenda and you just focus on a small pool of games, or one particular area of focus, such as colour.
  19. I'd actually disagree with your first bit about no game needing online. I think some games do need it. Battlefield's multiplayer is impossible to do via splitscreen, so you'd have to go online. No online mode in that pretty much equals no game. These days, I think online play should be seen as the go-to option for multiplayer. In a world where people can communicate with each other over great distances via text messaging, twitter and facebook, I think it's pretty much seen as necessary for videogames to feature online modes. As for The Last of Us: I've never touched the multiplayer as I jumped onto something else as soon as I finished the singleplayer, but I've seen some videos of it and it does look pretty cool. Very strategic.
  20. In fairness, stuff has been done about it. Ronnie has been banned from certain threads, Wii has put him on ignore lists, etc. We can't transform a person, it's down to his freewill at the end of it. Why bother arguing/discussing it with him/at him if you're getting nowhere and having a shit time. Treat him as you do the WiiU; irrelevant.
  21. The NES zapper and Robo were exactly that, they were add ons. So, they're not the same because the entire system wasn't built around these controllers. The N64 controller was unusual, but the controller didn't really contain anything unusual enough that forced Nintendo or third parties to think differently about the system. In fact, I'd argue about them using cartridges instead of discs was the bigger issue and that was what hampered their support, not the controller. They may have tinkered and dabbled in a few things here and there, but they've taken that to a new level with anything they've made from the DS onwards where the entire philosophy and focus of the system has been on the controller first. Playing Arkham City was awesome on the WiiU and I was under the impression that this would lead to more games coming across. Unfortunately, the tech is still behind, so there's no chance of big games like Arkham Knight or The Witcher even coming.
  22. Yeah, agreed. The other thread has already gathered steam, so I think that should be the one we all use.
  23. Our anniversary date is 09/09/08. Make of that what you will.
  24. One thing that I've become weary of is Nintendo and their creation of "concept" consoles. What I mean by that is that they seem to (since the DS) come up with a console and an idea and then release games later on down the line which focus around this idea. So, dual screens, motion controls, whatever it is the WiiU is meant to do. I didn't mind this too much as it was new and exciting during the DS and Wii era, but it's definitely fallen flat for me with the 3DS and WiiU. I'm worried the next console will be another one of these "concept" consoles and the problem is that suddenly there's pressure on everybody to create games that fit in with this idea or use the features in an interesting way, rather than actually focusing on being great games themselves. Part of me is concerned that we won't see good results for these concepts until much later on in its life. I still don't think I've seen a 3DS game that I feel really uses the 3D well or a WiiU game that truly uses the controller in a unique way. I would be entirely comfortable with Nintendo just focusing on creating something a bit more traditional and just focusing on getting support for it, but I realise that this isn't going to happen.
