  1. I've seen a few films recently. The Imitation Game I enjoyed this a lot and thought Cumberbatch was excellent throughout. Really well paced. I do like how they didn't overplay the final section, because it was a particularly bleak part of the story but I feel they got it just right. Not sure about the inclusion of Keira Knightly in this, a bit too glamorous for such a role. Otherwise, I liked this and would recommend. Oblivion Very "Moon", especially in the second and final third of the film. We put this on because we didn't know anything about it and thought it would be decent and it turned out to be slightly better than we expected. I enjoyed it, but in a Sunday afternoon because there's nothing else to watch kinda way. Jurassic World Take the original film but then take out the magic and the sense of wonder and you have a little bit of what resembles this film. It's ok, borderline shit, unspectacular and a bit dull in places. The whole final third is silly, there's no other word for it really. The type of film that will be replayed on ITV2 three times a week for the next 10 years. Super 8 You know, I quite enjoyed this! I wonder if they made the wrong choice by making it a "monster" movie. The film really should have been about the kids, because that whole first half with the kids making that film was excellent. Great dialogue in places, a bit of that coming-of-age drama that you get from The Goonies and Stand By Me, a bit of ET thrown in. It goes a bit too Cloverfield in the final 30 minutes or so, which is a bit of a shame because it's so good up until then. I enjoyed it and I think the final few minutes make up for the amount of action that takes place towards the end. It's very ET and Cloverfield in places, without really having the finesse of either. My 2015 list Big Hero 6 The Wolf of Wall Street American Psycho Gravity 3D The Lego Movie Lost in Space (lol) Batteries not included Avengers Assemble The Imitation Game Oblivion Jurassic World Super 8
  2. I find tennis games really boring to play, especially if you're playing with a full five sets. They can take ages to get through. I always prefer the idea of playing tennis games rather than actually playing them myself. Grand Slam had an appeal for a while because of the controls, but it's still repetitive and a bit of a drag after a while.
  3. You can see the similarities with PT straight away. I do like how this looks similar to a lot of English houses that I've seen and even been in. I'm just sad we won't be getting Silent Hills.
  4. The game is aweeesssoooommmmeee. @Eenuh and I have been doing the season mode together. I wasn't sure if you would be able to co-op it, but you can. Hurrah! Managed to win the final game of a 9-game season to secure the title, smashing the team in second place 4-0. The customisations that you can make to the car are awesome. Looking forward to unlocking more bits and bobs and then going online with it.
  5. That's an excellent idea. It sorta reminds me of Rainbow Road where (think it was the N64 game) it looked like you could fall off the track onto another level below.
  6. I'll be up for it. Love the game.
  7. I remember seeing this a few days back but didn't know what it was. It instantly appeals to me.
  8. I'm surprised at that, I thought you'd be into post-rock. I love 65days and their music is just perfect for this game.
  9. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and Journey are both coming to PS4 this month. Looking forward to being able to play both for the first time.
  10. That whole Bloody Baron story arc is sublime. But yes, that Botchling bit is traumatic to say the least.
  11. I'm super confident now of a 2015 release. It just looks so ready from what we saw yesterday. There can't be more to add, surely. I'm keen to see/hear how the soundtrack works and fits in with the game. Getting 65Daysofstatic in to do the soundtrack for this game is such a clever move!
  12. Game is awesome, obviously. Tried an exhibition match earlier and have tweaked my ride a little bit. In a way, I like how the changes are just for aesthetics.
  13. That IGN first video is the first real time where I've seen the game and finally "got it". I'm super excited for it and just love the vision and scope of this game. Laughed at how persistent that goat-thing was.
  14. I liked that because I felt it was in-keeping with the mood of the game. Plus, it gave us a bit of time to admire that gorgeous scenery. I'm not sure how they would add variety to the game. For all of the criticism that they received, I actually liked the QTEs and felt that they didn't feel out of place at all. One area I think reviewers badly got wrong, in my opinion.
  15. Thermite gun was fucking awesome. Like @Daft, I loved the gun play. I only wish the werewolf/monster fighting bits were a bit more interesting, as they were my least favourite thing about the game. I do think that there will be a sequel and it will be a better game. Keep the gun play, keep the setting, keep the beautiful graphics, sound and story. Give us a multiplayer to add longevity, maybe a few more things to collect and just generally more chapters. I'll be sad if we don't get to continue this story.
  16. Black Flag was pretty cool from watching @Eenuh play it. Does anyone know what happened with Unity in the end? Did it get patched and is it actually a good game after all? All I ever heard about it was how glitchy it was.
  17. I thought this was a long way off. It does look quite interesting, I wasn't sold on it the first time we got info.
  18. Can the WiiU support mouse and keyboard? What if you could use the mouse and keyboard and still have the dual display of TV and GamePad screen. You could use the GamePad screen to monitor one area (for example, an enemy's base) whilst the TV looks at what you're doing with the keyboard. Or, the GamePad screen could provide stats or unit counts and all that stuff. I've not watched that video yet, will do so later. Definitely is potential there, though. Shame it will never be realised.
  19. I actually think that might be the best thing to do now. Nintendo have lost the third parties and I don't think that bringing out new hardware is suddenly going to win them around. So, they could just do what they do best and that is to make great software. Pump out a wider range of games for the WiiU and make that the second console for people to own. I worry that our value for Nintendo's hardware is going to plummet if we're getting older tech with a shorter lifespan. When people spend money, they want to know that they're getting their money's worth. Killing the WiiU earlier than expected isn't really sending out a great message, especially if the follow-up doesn't captivate gamers. I guess it's crucial whatever Nintendo does next.
  20. Due for release in November by the sounds of it. Currently on the fence with this one. Could be great, could be bad. A decent first trailer, though.
  21. Cheers, braaah. The rain has eased off now, but the garden outside is now a swimming pool. We've been to the bottom of our garden and have looked at the upper gardens themselves. It's turned into a river.
  22. We live in a ground floor flat (on dat poverty time) and there is what can only be described as a monsoon on our doorstep right now. We live pretty much in the Bournemouth Upper Gardens. There is a shiiiit ton of rain falling from the sky that is cascading down our steps onto our level and overflowing our front garden. There's rain and water coming from everywhere. I've never seen this much rain or water in one place in all of my life. It's fucking horrific out there. Ine has disconnected all of the plugs (except the plug to the internet, lawl) so the house is in darkness except for candles. No romance happening here. (I also can't play The Witcher 3...fuark dis) Seriously worried we're going to get flooded.
  23. What an incredible find! Jesus, imagine what gaming would be like right now had Nintendo stuck with them. Unbelievable, Jeff.
  24. I have 999 and Virtue's Last Reward ready to play. Tempted to play them when I'm in Spain soon. Great news though. Moar gamesssss.
