Made pancakes with a friend Yesterday, they turned out a tad misshapen but it didn't matter, because lemon and sugar pancakes are the don. Listened to this while we made them: If you don't know why, I don't want to know you.

Are you using N4G to find all this bile? That's so badly done it isn't even funny. (OK, it is)

Avoid Quest for Booty like the plague. I've only played the original R&C, ToD, QfB and a tiny bit of CiT. I loved the original on the PS2, I think it would hold up quite favourably too. I was slightly let down by ToD because the shooty stuff was spammed (I think the series has gradually leaned more and more over to the weapons stuff) but it's still worth playing. I can imagine CiT is probably the best in the series because it looks so smooth and shiny. No interest in Sly. The preconception I have of it, which might be unfair, is that because it's a stealth game for younger audiences, the stealth stuff will be really heavy-handed and simplistic and annoying. Like the prison island section in Wind Waker.

I saw that GT thing as well, where have they been keeping that guy? He has buckets more personality than anybody else working there.

Watched Requiem for a Dream for the second time. Something else that film. And I'll be damned if there is/was anyone more beautiful than Jennifer Connelly.

Incorrect. Doug Stanhope is hit and miss, true, but Tim Key is actually brilliant. I used to be on your side of the house, I used to think his interludes in Screenwipe were poor, but it turns out he's a very talented stand-up. I have his poem collection too, fun to dip into every now and then. I'm not sure if I'm left a bit jaded by Brooker at the moment. I mean, I always feel compelled to watch his stuff. His column might be tailing off slightly but then again he has to divert his resources to all sorts of projects nowadays, and who can blame him for wanting to keep a secure job at the Guardian all the while, even if he is running a bit thin on ideas? He always has some funny topical comment to make, he certainly hasn't lost that ability, and Black Mirror was superb for the most part (new series soon). In some corners of the web there seems to be something of a Brooker backlash taking place, with claims made about him being a sell-out, or being too celebrity-friendly or too forced or manufactured or whatever it may be. I concede some of that might be true to a degree, but I also find it preposterous. A guy can only do so much. He isn't an all-powerful executive hoisting the reigns of any output with his name on it. The only criticism I have is that in writing for the Guardian he's expected to frequently express political views when he isn't qualified or informed enough to do so (I wouldn't be any better, of course). He admits this himself, but that just leaves me to think he should either try harder, read more, or stay away from it altogether. Reboot his brain and freshen up those articles with something new. Occasionally they're tellingly empty and facile - in a bad way. I found this interesting though - he mentioned that he's read Nineteen Eighty-Four, and its influence on his work is remarkably evident. This extract from the novel illustrates my point: Just an observation.

Of course they're going to make a new Zelda, and yes Mario and Zelda were their best ideas, but how bloody old are those ideas now? They haven't revamped their games at the same pace as the competition. They need an overhaul. The only thing going for them still is that slightly timeless appeal. It's a massive problem that they keep churning out new iterations of the same franchises, and keep their best teams working on them. It locks them into using the same characters, tropes, environments, themes/tones, /everything, and it means nothing comes as a surprise. I find it baffling. It would be laughed at in the movie industry if a remake was made every 3 years, simply re-skinned each time. Branch out damn it! I'm not saying these franchises should be abandoned forever, but give them a serious break. Try something darker, with new characters and a serious story. Do something radical. Honestly, I find it ridiculous that people are so couched in their comfort zones when it comes to Nintendo, and always demand the same fucking thing. I've made this point so many times that it probably comes as a bit of a bore-fest by now. But not as much as a bore-fest as Nintendo's output. Hoho. @ReZ I agree, bar the controller speaker aspect. Tinny shit.

I remember S-Ranking every track on Excite Truck, it was a very addictive little racer. But it was released in 2006/2007. That's 6 years ago. Jonnas is scraping the deepest depths of the barrel. Sure it was fun, but it's like digging up the game Dirt ( ) to underline the quality of the 360/PS3 libraries. You just wouldn't do it. Excite Truck shouldn't be the gold-standard on any console, it should be expected. I actually chuckled a bit when you mentioned it.

They used to love making games. So much love went into the '64 Zeldas. Now the passion has gone and it's factory production, box ticking, nostalgia tickling banality. Modern Zeldas are so shallow when compared with other contemporary adventure games.

It's sad that Nintendo feels it has to appease the fans. Why do the fans always want the same thing, and what makes them right? Fans prohibit the visions of the creative talent. Give the developers some leeway and let them make something that wouldn't otherwise be made. Leave Zelda for a while longer. Screw $$$. Blind idealism.

We want different things.

The story was loosely held together by two very implausible and convenient coincidences, and Drake's vulnerability (what with 'Drake' apparently being a pseudonym) wasn't expanded upon. I don't care if they're saving that for 4. The conclusion was lacklustre as well. Gameplay - the first half was boring, by the numbers stuff. It never really got going. It improved but it never took off, despite having a plane sequence. It might've looked amazing, there were plenty of explosions and set pieces, but it really wasn't that fun to play. @Daft - that figures Back on topic - I don't want a WiiU.

1) Your kind is not wanted here 2) Granted, but it showed promise 3) The story was gash and the formula was getting wearisome, but the multiplayer was phenomenal (except for the exploitative map support) 4) Aye

For me the game has no replay value because the killer doesn't change from play-through to play-through. Obviously it would have been an impossible task to make that possible but durrr, that's life. Definitely a fun experience though. One scenario had my adrenaline going more than anything else I've ever played in a videogame so it gets serious props for that.

Nahhhh, you're saying that because it's on the Vita.
