Wringing out the system's functionality for the sake of original software is hardly going to drive sales. Only thirteen people know of the Vita's existence, and from those only two realise it has a rear touch panel. That shouldn't come as a surprise because the feature isn't advertised at all. And why should it be? It isn't a game changer. Not until Apple does it.

When you have tekkers like these, it doesn't matter if you were bred in a test tube:

Looking for a tenner-a-month SIM/contract, and a handset in the region of £60-80. Not in need of many minutes really, and obviously not looking for anything swanky with the phone, just something that's solid and has a swift interface. Preferably not a touch-screen because they're terrible in that price range. Ta guys!

I don't usually approve of mapping console experiences onto handhelds, but a whole AC game that looks as good as that, resting in your hands... Must say that's pretty special. What's more, it looks worthy of the '3' label.

Indeed, although I swear I saw a better one that only loops after he's fully out of shot. Argh! It's scary how long that body position is sustained, very reminiscent of 2001. For obvious reasons.

Awesome! Can't wait for a gif of the jump.

A visor problem may rule out the jump. Bottle-job!

Anyone seen The Machinist ? It received very favourable views but I thought it was shallow, pointless and very heavy handed. It left me thinking that I should be mulling it all over, but there was nothing to mull over, other than the fact that there was nothing to mull over. Lame.

This discussion really only blossomed because of a titling mishap, and I think Diageo wrapped the issue up well. I don't however think it's irrelevant to highlight the fact that women tend to face the annoyances and evils of sexism far more frequently in daily life. Case studies like Gabby Logan's recent Sexism in Football documentary are right to view sexism from a female angle, for example. I also agree with the point made earlier that we should raise consciousness on sexism cases in which men are targeted, or for which men readily and evidently appoint themselves as targets, because the video Dannyboy posted about the disposable male made me realise (/reawakened my awareness) the very serious implications of sustaining such strong beliefs. I hasten to add though that the woman was wayward in her condemnation of feminism as a whole, her grief should be directed at bad feminism.

Stealth could make this year exciting, what with people pretending Borderlands 2 is more than simple repackaging and all.

I thought it was abysmal. They haven't ironed out any of the clunkiness that made Resi 5 so cumbersome, everything felt like a chore.

I don't know why anyone would willingly trudge through Zeta more than once. Is there any chance you have a screw loose?

343 Industries seems to be taking a regressive approach to realism.

I'm starting to come round to the idea that Tumblr is pretty shit.

Campaign for people to use the chat room again

I was just about to suggest that myself. Hugely bored. -
District 9 - was it meant to be a joke? Really enjoyed Pan's Labyrinth though.

Consumers don't know what really excites them, they're confined to comfort zones. Yes, each iteration of Zelda has a base guarantee of playable quality, but the series doesn't deserve the continuous, unyielding popularity it's managed to foster. Nobody's looking at the thing to innovate, or to surprise, and it's as if the franchise's staunch refusal to wander too far away from expectations is noble and commendable. Fuck that. Nintendo needs a radical staff reshuffle or something of the sort to reinvent its major franchises because as I see it, the Miyamotos of the company are desperately clinging onto tradition and stifling creativity by doing so. They aren't pushing boundaries anymore. I honestly think you'd have to be an idiot or a chronic nostalgic to keep buying their big games. It's just as well there are lot of idiots. To be fair, I'm far less likely to be sold on any game series that progresses beyond two parts anymore. I couldn't care less about Uncharted, for example, when a few years back I'd be craving a new instalment.

Yeah, I'm amazed people still care about new Zeldas. The omission of a jump mechanic is an abysmal oversight in this day an age, other adventure games have left the series in the dust by actually being adventurous in their design. There's no subtlety to be found in Zelda - all one does is acquire one glittery item after another before being promptly tunnelled towards a point of interest marked by a gaudy arrow shouting "OVER HERE, USE IT HERE!" There's little if no grading of an item's utility, it's always a single-purpose thing and it's always more effective than other items in absolute terms. Where's the fun in that? I'm not that enthusiastic about customization but at least allow me some choice and direction. On top of that, the writers seem to have been mining the same barrel of tropes for the past 20 years. Feed us some decent mythology! The Souls games have been great, although I do agree with Oxigen (please don't think I've read the whole debate you've been having) that some of the systems in the game have been shoddily implemented, or aren't clear. The ephemeral eyes/suicide ritual used in Demon's to change the state of the world was simply nonsense, and I'm not entirely sure why the developers adopted the Humanity system for this. It surely can't be the most logical design choice.

There was an air of mystery to the cartel and its operations in season 4. It was host to a merciless and yet somehow calm and unmoving villain in Gus Fring, who provided constant friction between all of the main characters. The characters' decisions themselves were far more shocking and unexpected and you really felt Walt and Jesse had peaked emotionally, Walt with power/conviction, Jesse with fear and insecurity. This season has been adequate. The train episode was indeed very entertaining but it most definitely hasn't improved since then. Like I've said, Walt is a mess, and not in the way the writers intended; he's actually been uncharacteristically capricious for the last four or five episodes, his motives and changes in thought don't add up. That doesn't amount to intriguing character development, in fact, it detracts from it. Saying all this, I do believe the final batch of episodes will be as riveting as the show's ever been. Pivotal information is set to leak everywhere, specifically to Hank and Jesse, and I have no inkling as to how the finale will turn out. But when the last 8 episodes do come round, they'll constitute season 6 in my mind.

It cowers in the shadow of season 4.

Vince had to pull a cliffhanger from his arse to mark the season split. Not bowled over by those 8 episodes.
