  1. Sorry, only facebook. Though facebook was a much nicer place when it was Uni students only and without all these damn applications. I don't care what level zombie or vampire you are.
  2. I have the Logitech G15. Blue backlit keys, and LCD screen (there some great apps for it if you seach around). Keys are very nice too type on. Not cluncky, very smooth, but have a good feel to them. Media keys just below the LCD screen. 18 extra macro buttons you can assign almost anything to, with each one having 3 modes. so that's 54 different functions. Very useful for RPGs, buying weapons on CS and generally using your pc. (my first three are bound to copy, past, cut because i'm lazy).
  3. But with all the target and performance related pay, they'll want to catch as many of those pesky criminals as possible. There easiest way of doing that is going door to door and arresting every Tom Dick and Harry with illegally obtained copyright material. Owning it's just as illegal as the process of downloading it. Things would get this petty. Sometimes fuzzy law is good.
  4. No, but they would eventually.
  5. Of course not. But zero tolerance means no crimes must be committed, and how would our concerned government be able to know if crimes were being commited it they can't check peoples emails, track peoples movements via cameras, be able to stop and search anyone when they feel like it (we lost that one with terrorism laws). That not only goes hand in hand with the fact most laws are complete bollocks. The police can't pick and choose with laws they punish, no matter how silly they seem. It also means kids that would usually get scared by a caution would almost be hounded into a life of crime by the society they live in. It sounds fine in theory, all those poor kids not killed needlessly, chavs being moved off the streets, but in reality there are alot more factors to zero-tolerance that don't pull at our heart strings. Like everything the government says they'll only consider something if there are benefits to them. That usually means more power and they usually don't like to tell people about it.
  6. But for £180 you can get the same thing, and a free wii console. makes it even more of a bargain.
  7. Money can't buy happiness, but it can certainly rent it.
  8. No way. With zero tolerance comes invasion of privacy, surveillance and loss of rights. Why should the actions of the few cause a decrease in personal rights for the majority. Imagine all this crap with "terrorism" laws being used to search and stop innocent people, or arrest people for "crimes" that are clearly not terrorist related but its the only thing they are chargeable for. That sort of occurrence will exponentially increase within a zero tolerance society. If anything it will increase the number of gun and organised crimes. Criminals adapt to the conditions. Arm the police and every burglar with feel the need that they have to carry a gun, rather than the minority. You don't stop crime, you just force the criminals to take more precautions about not getting caught. I am a libertarian however.
  9. Ooh that trailer made me perked my interest a bit more, From previous demos etc it looked like the gun was a tad puny, didn't do much damage, didn't make zombies flinch. Looks much better not the zombies are effected by you shooting them.
  10. Waste not, want not. That picture looks more like a bunch of harvestmen than spiders (body shape).
  11. OMG MEGATON!!!!!1!1!!1 PROOF APPLE BUYIN NINTY. OMFG, NO WAY!!!!eleven Sorry I promise i'll never do that again. I feel ashamed.
  12. Squash is another of those games that's great to play and rubbish to watch. In fact its really bad to watch because the balls moving to fast to see properly and all you watching it two people running around hitting the air.
  13. There is a huge difference between missing three drugs tests and testing positive. Especially when the three drugs tests weren't consecutive ones, and she tested negative on all adjacent tests in between. It would have been very very difficult and extremely unlikely for to have been able to take drugs and not be caught. She doesn't deserve a lifetime olympic ban, she's done her time already.
  14. What about Supergrunch, he's the fairly responsible mature type. On the other hand know people doing Nat Sci, he's going to have enough problems finding time to sleep and eat for the next four years.
  15. I think alot of people who play good games have an arrogance over gaming. When someone tells you their favourite game is fifa (insert number) or gta (insert number), I do find myself ignoring their opinion about that subject. Whether or not that's the definition of arrogance I'll leave that for you to decide. I'll do the same for someone who said a game like pikmin was shit because it had kiddy graphics. I definitely don't think its a Nintendo fan thing though. It's the type of snopbbery that happens in any field. I know loads of people that don't like band x because everyone likes them and they've become "generic". I feel the same way about gta and halo. Out of the games I'd rate as the best I've played very few have actually sold well. EDIT: None of my personal top 5 games are made by Nintendo (Grim Fandango, Battlezone (1998 version), Freespace 2, Deus Ex and Homeworld:Cataclysm), so I'm not much of a fanboy.
  16. Right, I've been doing a few quick calculations and based on the number of forum members going missing, being banned, banning themselves, allegedly committing suicide, moving abroad, being arrested, buying PS3's and/or getting a life/girlfriend in the real world, I've concluded that there will be no users left on this forum in 22.658 years. This is not taking into events such as the notorious "epic thread" I've taken into account a steady flow of new users joining the boards, but discounting those users that blatantly aren't new and make it so obvious they go to another castle fairly quickly. However, there is a bigger problem. In exactly 15.832 years the number of admins, mods and staff members will have reached 0. This means that some time in the future there will be a point that there are not enough admins or mods to sufficiently keep control and the forum will decent into anarchy. This point may or may not have already passed. Anyway I was shocked by this discovery and I would like to warn all new users that have been lulled here by the appealing "site news" advertisements, that it's already on the brink of self destruction. Thank you for your time.
  17. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elvis_Presley_phenomenon Not the article itself but the references at the bottom, with a bit of tracking down, may be fairly useful. Wikipedia is always a decent first stop for finding preliminary references.
  18. I don't think I've ever been to Cleethorpe's when the suns been out. The sun's been out everywhere else in the country, but as soon as I arrive there it's behind a mysterious cloud that nowehere else seems to see. I go there at least 2-3 times a year as I'm only just down the road (ish) and its never been sunny, in fact most of the time its drizzling. I have no Idea why I keep going.
  19. I keep forgetting to turn my battery charger on at the mains. I doubt I can blame my batteries. Or my wii-motes.
  20. Cleethorpes. The sky is grey, the water is grey and best of all, the sand is grey. Its by far the best/most depressing beach in the country.
  21. This is definitely on my "intrigued" list, like Excite truck was and that turned out to be a great purchase. I hope its good and has a long play time like animal crossing did. The customisation looks its strongest feature, but i also hope there is a "game" under there too. Sims got boring as I did particularly have a goal of quests etc and there wasn't that much sense of achievement (unlike something like simcity). The addition of the essences seems like a step in the right direction, as well as directly controlling characters. Art style is great.
  22. Just for Caris, Top 5 venomous invertebrates in order of coolness. 1. Brazilian wandering spider: 4-5 inch legspan, the most powerful spider venom, and most importantly has no fear of humans and will actively attack if even remotely threatened. 2. Fat tailed scorpion: Also known as the man killer. Very deadly Venom. Scorpions rank highly on this list due to their ability to absorb decent amounts of radiation, ie possibility of surviving a nuclear bomb. 3. Deathstalker Scorpion: Also highly venomous. Cool name. 4. Blue ringed octopus: Up their with the Box jellyfish as the most dangerous sea creature. Stops it victims from breathing for several hours. Not great for divers. 5. Portuguese man o'war: While not as venomous as the box jellyfish, I think this makes the list not only because it's stings are excruciatingly painful, but because the man o'war is actually a colony of zooids (highly specialised 'organisms' that would die if alone, but in a colony of different zooids act like a single organism). Wierd but cool and venomous.
  23. That crap on the back of the second scorpion, I'd have an educated guess that they are the shed skins of the baby scorpions. Most female scorpions carry their young on their backs (what safer place is there than right under you tail?). They'll have had their first or second shed then buggered off to fend for themselves (the white colouration, most baby scorpions are really pale). Anyway scorpion mating is fairly boring. Male produces a sac of sperm that he leaves on the ground, then when he finds a partner, they lock claws and "dance", with him leading her over the sperm sac, which she picks up. How boring is that? How venomous a scorpions sting is, is almost directly proportional to the strength of its pincers. The emperor Scorpion has fairly large powerful claws which it uses to kill its prey doesn't need a powerful venom. Something like the golden scorpion or fat-tailed scorpion have weak pincers. They also live in arid conditions where food is scarce. Therefore if food comes by they have to definitely kill it quickly so It can't get away. Hence strong venom. Oh and if your scared of Scorpions, carry a UV light, they tend to fluoresce. EDIT: Up for the disgusting bugs thread, I love all forms of invertebrate and know a shit load about them.
  24. Do I have to put the diagram of the arachnid order in spoilers, or is that not as scary?
  25. Please can we make rokhed a mod, the boards would be a much more interesting place.
