If that doesn't stop people arguing nothing will. Except for a a game of global thermonuclear war/tictactoe.

Surely I'm not the only one here..(Left or Right?)
Ginger_Chris replied to Dyson's topic in General Chit Chat
Right Handed, but due to the breaking of digits, and having my hand in pot fairly regularly (at least once a year, I'm kinda accident prone), I perform several everyday tasks with my left or right instinctively. Politically I'm a libertarian. -
Zelda, Excite truck, and smash football would be my top picks. Red steel, Wario Ware and Wii play are decent but not amazing. Stay away from Monkey ball, its not a scratch on the original, and the multiplayer is cringe-worthy. I also have: Metroid, Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Brothers Melee and Paper Mario on preorder and definitely think they'll be must-own games.

hors is bad, akes it hard to revise and study with all the sunshine and outside calling me. Not that outside is that much fun, with the burning of the skin and all. Btw, am I the only one that starts humming the song every time I see the thread's title?

Rugby, the players have alot more respect for each other and especially for the referee. His word is law, because if it wouldn't people would get seriously injured. The problem with football is that its a bumch of jump up kids with far too much money. Rugby players tend to be older and on far smaller wages. The don't get as arrogant or cocky, and the game is better for it.

NoA loses 90% of staff and three major employees.
Ginger_Chris replied to a topic in Nintendo Gaming
The loss of the three major executives mentioned isn't here or there, they can be replaced very easily, its the other 90% that's the problem. That's a hell of alot of experience going into the hands of other companies. I really can't see that figure being true, I can imaging 40% or 30% not wanting to move home, but not 90%. There has to be something else to this, either redistribution or Nintendo themselves letting people go. (as for spilling beans, NDAs will still be effect, whether they get fired or leave) -
Old Rosie, t'is a silly plan putting pears in cider.

Your Perfect right Elleister, You use the difference between two squares in reverse to eliminate the root at the bottom. Using (X²-Y²)=(X+Y)(X-Y). 2 / (4+√(5)); multiply the top and bottom by the appropriate function; =2*(4 - √(5)) / ((4+√(5))(4-√(5))) multiply out the bottom using difference of two squares; =(8-2√(5))/(4² - 4√(5) + 4√(5) - (√5)²); =(8-2√5)/(16-5) =(8-2√5)/(11) It's all about remembering the difference of two squares, it also becomes useful for imaginary numbers (getting i's to the top) and simplifying nasty functions of cos, sin, cosh and sinh.

Immigration has nothing to do with racism, Its an economics problem. Will an immigrant contribute more to the economy than they take. If they they will, let them in. If they are a drain on the economy, why bother? People who living in the country pay taxes, which they hope will spent on helping them. Why should they pay so someone can come into the country? Yes there are people already in the country, its wrong to force someone from their home, it's not wrong to say sorry your not allowed in if they aren't going to contribute. Immigration in the press gets a lot of bad publicity, but there a more types of immigration that just asylum etc. We get a large proportion of nurses from Canada, doctors and scientists from Indian and china, engineers and economists from Japan etc. These are highly skilled professionals, who will contribute to the long term stability of the economy. I don't think anyone has a problem letting skilled people in. Anyone who comes to England to get a job and contribute to the community is a positive gain. The only fact that turns up in the media with this type of immigration is when communities don't mix or integrate with the pre-existing societies (see lots of articles about education and religion, we try and separate Christianity and education as much as possible because they are separate issues, why should we not dot he same with other religions?). Personally I don't see why we should really accept asylum seekers into the country, unless they have a close relative already in the country. If I were running for my life, I'd get to the first 'free' country, and then if i had close family somewhere try and get there. I'm sorry but someone who has travelled though France, Germany, Poland, Italy and many other countries couldn't have tried to get into any of those? No, a large number of people come to England because of large government hand outs and lax policy. Personally I think we should adopt the approach of Australia, If you don't have a profession they want, or won't contribute significantly to the country, you aren't getting in. Sorry. No one ever seems to complain about their policy.

I nice little multilayer mode would involve each player controlling a small squad of units. ie 6 infantry, or 1 tank and 4 infantry, 3 tanks, 3 helicopters, bomber and 2 fighters etc. all obviously more balanced. 3 or 4 sqauds per army, 1 overall general giving out basic orders maybe controlling a key unit like a heavy tank or something, that would be 4/5 vs 4/5. Would definitely favour team play, and everyone has small but important role, but doesnt have to worry about loads of units (except the general, but that is all he does). Maybe I've been playing too much Natural Selection.

Unfortunately not, I am applying to become a teacher (or at least do a PGCE) next year. So the more experience i get helping people the better (Physics rather than maths though :P). Supergrunch; have you done anything on Probability Currents yet? I did them for Quantum mechanics a couple of years ago and still don't understand what they are or what use they have.

Simplest method: p(picking at least one vowel) = 1 - p(not picking any vowels) p(not picking any vowels) = 4/6 * 3/5 * 2/4 = 24/120 = 1/5 = 0.2 (This is found with a tree diagram, initially there are 4c's and 2 v's, so 4/6 chance of picking a c. Now a c has been removed there are 3 c's and 2 v's, a 3/5 chance of picking a second c. The chance of picking a final c is 2/4.) (c=consonant, v=vowel). P(picking at least one vowel) = 1 - 0.2 = 0.8 Not much point worrying about combinations and permutations with this. Overcomplicating things a little, there are two groups, vowels and non-vowels, and the order you pick them makes no difference.

Soundcard? I'm never a fan of onboard ones, but only really matters if you have a decent speaker set up/use your pc as a stereo. RAM is fairly important for photo editing, the faster/more of it the better. Also you might want to look into having 2 smaller faster (10,000rpm) drives. Faster read times, and you nca keep windows separate from other tasks. Although I'm not sure if this would actually give much performance for non-gaming, probably not worth it. If your doing a lot of photo editing you might want to consider buying a graphics tablet.

Read This, and Pin It On Your Fxing Wall

Oxford up there because there's a bunch of rich idiots that don't know anything about home security. Also if burglary counts as stealing bicycles - I can see why its so high. -
Could we change the thread title, my eyes are bleeding after reading it. Not all remakes have to have "wii" inserted in them you know.

Diplomacy is a much better board game and very similar. Just without the luck. (need several players for a really good backstabby game)

I'm far less camp/random/extroverted etc online. Having to type means I actually have to think about what I'm saying, rather than just saying it. Plus I tend to only write things when I have something to say, because it's effort.

To minimise costs you have to find a minimum. To do that, find what value of x satisfies dC/dx=0. To check if its a minimum either do a rough sketch of the graph, or find what sign d2C/dx2 is at the given value of x. Doing the rough sketch of it, the costs don't really change between 20 and 80, but the actual minimum is about 40. (in questions like this, if you ever find the answer to be a fraction or decimal, because you can only have a whole number of computers, round it either up or down depending on the question with (with reasoning)). On a compuetely useless note, the question also doesn't make any sense, why would you be minimising costs? The shop keeper should really be maximising profits. Unless thats costs per computer, in which is should be maximised, but that would make Profit =((yearly taking per year per computer) - C)*x which you should be maximising. sigh, another non-nonsensical maths question using an inappropriate model to describe something just because the numbers give you a nice answer.

Hmm, I'd guess that could occur when there are two identical roots to d2y/dx2=0, that way you have two (or four, or six..) inflections at a point, resulting in no inflection. Kinda of like y=x^3 (x=0), where you get a minimum and maximum at the same point, so you don't get either, just an inflection. An odd number of inflections at a point would give an inflextion, just like y=x^4 gives a minimum at x=0, even though there are 2 minimums and a maximum technically at the same point. That help?

The easiest way to fix dc's would be to record how many dc's people have. That way they could take it into account when doing rankings. everyone's going to have a couple, so the best way would be ranking that way someone with a few dc's in alot of games will hardly be penalised, but having a large proportion of dc's will massively affect their rating.

Argh, annoying tactic alert. Get players with high-medium passing, one or two with high scoring. Get ball press A lots When ball charged press B when its going to someone with high scoring near the goal score. Sigh, works far to often for my liking for pretty much no effort.
-
Very similar to the previous question. Differentiating it once will give you the gradient. Differentiating it again will give you the 'bend'. The point of inflection is where the bend changes, ie d2x/d2y=0. use this to find x, then sub into the original to find y.

Guys, its still in heavy development, and like not coming out anytime soon (definitely not this year). Thats what the Nintendo rep said anyway. Sorry

That doesn't sound entirely fair, Its not like she could be exactly keeping an eye on the room while in prayer, so why couldn't she have gone outside? Surely during that time she wasn't doing her job, so technically you could probably launch a complaint.
