  1. It's for BBC Three... will be annoying if BBC Three only exists online by the time it comes around I like watching on the telly!
  2. It's really tempting... I'm eventually going to get a White PS4 but I'm not sure I really like the Destiny one - it's quite nice but I'm not sure I really want it on the console, if you know what I mean. It's the points available which would pay for PSPlus/extra controller/extra game that make it seem such a great offer, but I don't know whether to wait until November for a deal with Star Wars Battlefront, the game I really want for the console.
  3. It's still working! Just managed to use my final stars after completely failing to get anywhere with it yesterday.
  4. I added three completely random songs from my collection. I apologise if they offend your ears. I might actually take it seriously at some point in the future.
  5. Well at least we didn't get a red card tonight. What a shambles, Arsenal.
  6. £60 is taking the piss a bit, to be honest. £50 should be the limit really. I know they'll probably charge £50 for the digital copy on the eShop but I bet you can probably get the standard edition for around £30-35. That's not an extra £25-30 worth of stuff. It's a extra bits of paper that will probably be looked at once by most people and an extra case that's probably worth a quid.
  7. I also got new broadband installed today! Paying for up to 100mbps, did a speed test this morning... [TWEET]645880531364761600[/TWEET] Settled down to around 75mbps this evening, but very happy with that. And thanks to @Goron_3, I've literally spent the whole evening watching Parks and Rec.
  8. Didn't post in that thread but my resolutions were to leave my crappy retail job, move back to London, and get fully back into journalism. Getting a flat on my budget was harder than I anticipated, but I made it back up in July. I've got a new journalism job, which I'm yet to start, so my end of year goal is to make a good start in that. It has been a year of weddings for me - going to my 4th of the year this weekend coming; one I've been best man, two of them I've been the official photographer. I'm building up a decent portfolio and developing more camera and photoshop skills, which should come in handy and maybe I'll be able to make some money out of it eventually on top of shooting for friends and family. Other end of year goal is to continue getting my fitness back up - got a place to run the London Marathon again next April. I have to raise £2000 for Macmillan Cancer Support too so I'm going to be a busy Paul!
  9. BBC doesn't make any money from its "advertisements". They're promotions for their own shows. They don't get money for them. They give people a chance to get a drink/go to the loo/whatever between programmes and letting you know of upcoming programmes. Running from one show straight into another just wouldn't work. Commercial channels pay for their programming through adverts. BBC funds its programming through the licence fee. If all you're interested in is sport, yeah, that's a bummer. It isn't BBC you should be annoyed at though, but the commercial companies pushing the prices up. It's capitalism at its finest. Netflix etc. wouldn't have half as many decent programmes without the BBC's output. BBC News is a great news outlet that's respected around the world without commercial interest (although I do believe it is too friendly to the current government, their paymasters) - funded by the licence fee. Local news coverage would decline without the BBC because it just isn't that profitable. They also contribute to infrastructure projects like nationwide broadband rollout, the introduction of freeview and the development of future broadcast technologies like 4K and 8K TV (though that's quite a long way off). It's a public service, and one that I believe would be extremely missed if we didn't have it. I find some of the views in here quite contradictory - don't want to pay the licence fee but complain the BBC don't have any of the sport - they can't pay for the rights without our money! Their budget is being effectively sliced by the fee being frozen, hence more and more rights going to BT/Sky. I'd be happy to pay a higher licence fee for more sporting rights and to stop the closure of BBC Three.
  10. It also covers the Gamecube era too, just in case you have no interest in the N64! :p Hope you enjoy
  11. Quite pleased with this one here. You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse
  12. They follow the classic principle of capitalism - competition is good. Except for the consumer, as prices just rise, and the rich get richer, while the viewer needs multiple subscriptions. With the Premier League, I believe it was the EU who ruled that one broadcaster couldn't own all the rights, hence the games being split, first with Setanta, then ESPN, and now BT. They sell them exclusively because if every TV network could get them, they wouldn't be worth much money. Money talks.
  13. Yeah, BT won the rights for Champions League about 2 years ago, old news! Paying at least double what ITV/Sky were paying. The next auction for rights is in the next year I believe, so we'll find out where it'll be in 3 years time in the not too distant future! They do have a game tonight though on their Freeview channel tonight - Barca v Roma I believe. _______________________________________________________________ I'm a big believer in the licence fee. I love the BBC and it's sad to see the tories dismantling it piece by piece by freezing the fee and giving the BBC more and more things to pay for that should be under the government's responsibility, not the BBC's. That said, I'm angry at them for ignoring public opinion in their destruction of BBC Three.

Pretty tough start, but it's a pretty quick level overall! Am I being stupid or is there no way to go to a level straight from Miiverse? Do I really have to write down the code from Miiverse to type into the game? Looking forward to going through this thread and trying some more levels!
  15. Had almost two weeks off the gym due to holiday, so looking forward to getting back to the weights. I've also just found out I've got a place in next year's London Marathon, will be my second time, so need to get back into my running again!
  16. Free pin badge you say? I was going to hold off a bit/order from Amazon with a voucher I have but I may have to reconsider with this news! In fact, I'm going to have to go with Tesco because I've got a voucher I need to double up and use. If anyone gets the pin and by any chance doesn't want it, I'd be very happy to send a few quid your way for it. PM me
  17. Aah, after a quiet month, classic N-E is back! Not long until the colour wars start again :p I think the title is in slightly poor taste. Interested to think what whoever it was said 3D Mario is too gimmicky thinks of 2D Mario - they've been criticised for being too similar lately. Which series do you think has taken the better path? Would we be bored now if every 3D Mario took the format of Mario 64?
  18. Saw it tonight. Really good. Very touching and poignant, while still light-hearted and funny in places. Deserves more success than it probably will have at the box office.
  19. Just the man I was hoping to hear from. Thank you I did write a big long reply but my internet crashed and I lost it and haven't got the time to type it out again, but just letting it be known your help is much appreciated
  20. Just got my first prime lens - a 35mm f/1.8 Nikon DX. Any tips how to get the best out of it? Feel like I need to get an idea of getting the right ISO when using this lens...
  21. Made a little vlog about the Force Friday event at the Disney Store last night
  22. Will have to buy another one to open then! You bought a BB-8? Really want one, but £130! You can spot me in the Star Wars UK video they've put on their Twitter! [tweet]639604819980713984[/tweet]
  23. The awesome Daisy Ridley and John Boyega. Were both very down to earth and friendly!
  24. Signed by the lovely Daisy Ridley! Open and play or keep mint? Hmm..
