  1. Well I'm still buying it Day 1. It's STAR WARS. Season Pass I'll probably wait until it's on sale/see what it offers. There's no need to buy it straight away without knowing what you're gonna get.
  2. BBC reporting a rumour that the Calais refugee camp has been set on fire in a possible revenge attack. This is getting worse and worse
  3. Yeah, it's in Dalston/Stoke Newington, about a mile and a half from my place. We went there on the evening of the N-E meet. Will try and arrange a get together soon. Will check my calendar when I'm back in London and maybe we could go to one of the Loading bars and I'm happy to have people over for drinks at mine. @Zell was a great host last time, so I feel like I should return the favour. @Goron_3 will be around in London too I believe, so if you all let me know when you're free hopefully we can all get together.
  4. Fuck. Just got home after a very long, difficult and emotional day and seen this and it has completely shocked me My thoughts go out to all those affected and their families and friends, let us hope that no more lose their lives. Absolutely awful, how can people be so cruel?
  5. I'm down in Southampton for the weekend, otherwise I'd be well up for it. We should totally have another meet-up before christmas though if we can
  6. I am so ridiculously excited for this. It looks beautiful. I would order online in the hope of getting it early, but I'm away for the weekend and I've got Argos vouchers to spend. First thing Tuesday morning it'll have to be Ah, Tuesday is the American release. Bummer. An extra two days to wait At least we get the new film before them!
  7. Completed Uncharted 1 for the first time last night. Really enjoyed it, although I think it did get a little too shooty towards the end - I like climbing things! I actually found it was more similar to The Last of Us than I was expecting, the combat mechanics and especially...
  8. Enjoying this so far, just started sequence 4. Never made it all the way through an Assassin's Creed game having played about half each of 1 and 2 before my brother traded them in, and played the start of 3 when it was on PS+ and it didn't really grab me, so hopefully I'll make it all the way through this time! Liking the protagonists and their banter, and love the zip-line gun, really makes it feel like the Arkham games! I also love London as a setting - they've done a great job with the world. Making me feel a lot more invested in it that the middle east/Italy in the previous ones I've played.
  9. I think this conversation is also getting a bit mixed up with the quality of Nintendo's games and the sales of the console. While I said earlier in this thread I do feel that Nintendo's own titles haven't been the most ambitious this generation, I think the lack of third party support, bad marketing and the console itself not really grabbing the attention of the public and being more expensive than the usual Nintendo console are more contributory factors to the Wii U's failure.
  10. Bloody Man City. Ruined my Fantasy League day. Wanted a 0-0 draw so Arsenal would go top with a win. Have Sagna and Kolarov in my side. They go 1-0 up. Bad for Arsenal's league position, but fine for Fantasy League. Then Joe Hart throws the ball in the net. Bye bye clean sheet points for Kolarov and Sagna. Good for Arsenal's league position though. Then they get a penalty. BOOO. Touré scores. Then they get another. Kolarov decides to takes it. He bloody misses. Loses 2 points for missing. 0 points. THANKS KOLAROV. Arsenal still second in the league and in 10 mins I go from 12 points from the two of them to just 2 points from the two of them!
  11. The 3DS has been my favourite Nintendo handheld - loads of quality there. Wii U's games have been "high quality" but haven't been that exciting. Sure, you want there to be Smash, Mario Kart, etc. on every console, and you can argue that they are the best in their respective series. They're great games. But you want new, exciting stuff too that you'll remember forever. Everything feels smaller scale. There's no Metroid. There's no Zelda yet (WWHD doesn't count) Mario 3D World is great, but doesn't wow like 64/Galaxy did. All the 2D platformers are well polished and good fun, but not groundbreaking in any way. Splatoon is great, the kind of ambitious new stuff Nintendo should be doing but for a game that prioritises online, it's hurt by Nintendo's poor online services! Mario Maker is a brilliant tool, really good. It's great fun to play all these inventive levels. But it's another 2D platform game! It does feel like they've been playing it safe this generation, not quite as much ambition, and it's highlighted moreso by the fact they're supporting the console almost single handedly. Is it significant that my most enjoyed Wii U game is probably Hyrule Warriors? I've enjoyed all the other games I've played on the console too, but nothing has made me say wow like many of Nintendo's classics in the past have. We'll see if Xenoblade Chronicles X changes that.
  12. Oh I know, but that's a different subject altogether :p You can argue that the original Xenoblade had bikini costumes, but they weren't on 13 year old characters! We'll wait and see if adult characters have swimwear in this, if they don't it won't ruin my enjoyment of the game a single bit! Also, considering Xenoblade 3D, which was released this year, had all the bikini costumes intact, I'm pretty sure it's the age thing!
  13. It may not "look like a child" but it is a child. They even say in that article that her age has been increased from 13 to 15 to make the outfit on the left (which is still pretty revealing) acceptable! Can you imagine the outrage from some places if they see that Nintendo have children in such sexualised outfits in their games? And do you really think such sexualised outfits are really necessary? I think the outfit on the left actually looks more appropriate for the game. The bikini outfit looks out of place. And does it seriously ruin the game? It's a bloody costume!
  14. I hope he is! I want Chelsea's poor run to continue
  15. Can I just say, the ability to suspend a game, go watch Netflix/iPlayer, even put the console into standby, then come back to the game at the same point is pretty amazing. It all just works so smoothly!
  16. Thanks for the advice Jimzor. May have to look into it around Black Friday/Jan sales. Very peculiar - PS4 was struggling through a 500MB update for Assassin's Creed. Said it had 5 hours to go after 30 mins of downloading! Got to 80MB downloaded, turned it to standby for a couple of minutes. Turn it back on and it's installed! Time to get playing!
  17. Instagram was being a bitch so I uploaded it to imgur, you should hopefully be able to see now! I went black. Decided it'd fit in my room better despite the sexiness of the white. I got 500GB console, Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs and Uncharted for £299 from Argos, with £20 of free Argos vouchers. But I actually got £30 of free vouchers, £10 when I paid online, £20 that they gave to me when I picked up in store. Also got £22.05 cashback tracked on Topcashback, so all in all a pretty good deal. Was tempted for the deal for the 1TB and PSTV included for £30 more, but decided I won't really use the PSTV and I was trying to get it as cheap as poss. Will upgrade HDD in the future if needed. The vouchers will be very helpful in paying for PS+ and Battlefront later this month! My PSNID is paulmuchmore! I will start adding as soon as this damned update is done!
  18. Hey guys. I caved in. Bloody system update taking ages - 250MB taking over half an hour and I have 100Mb internet!
  19. Yeah I liked the long shot, that was very cool actually! I just found the helicopter bit underwhelming!
  20. I'm with Dazzybee here. The NNID should be the universal account, not just a way to sign up for this My Nintendo. Sure, be able to sign up with your Facebook/Twitter details or your email, like you can for many accounts. But signing up with these should give you a NNID, so if you then get a console you have a log-in already sorted, and don't have to create yet another account to link back the one you signed up to with your Facebook login. It seems overly complicated and suggests they've created the NNID in a way that they can't upgrade it to this sort of universal account.
  21. I guess you have a point, but Tomadachi Life was a quirky game, a life simulator. It was probably bought here mostly by kids and in bundles as well as by Nintendo fans. I don't reckon it brought that many new people in. This seems more like a social network, and I think that people over here are too hooked into the likes of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. for them to use this seriously. I think it's too cutesy and niche. People may try it out, but I can't see it becoming anything major. If anything, it doesn't look gamey enough, but I guess we haven't really seen enough yet to judge.
  22. I think there's very little chance of this Miitomo having any real success in the west. Very Japanese.
  23. It was always going to be a longshot for the Wii U to reach Gamecube numbers... The GC had quite a bit of third party support for about the first three quarters of its life. Wii U has had Nintendo alone supporting it for basically its entire life. Gamecube may have failed for being too similar to the others, plus other reasons which we've been through many times, but Wii U was too different and didn't capture the general public like the Wii did. It's hard to know where Nintendo should go from here. It's hard to see them competing directly with Sony and Microsoft - even if they did go for parity with their consoles, Sony/MS are a lot more established in the industry than they were in 2001 and have fans who will stick with their consoles. Going for something different is just as risky - if it doesn't excite people at launch like the Wii did, it'll have no chance. Hence why they seem to be aiming for the mobile market - that's really where the money is now.
