I own Nintendoland and I think I've played it a grand total of once. Partly due to lack of time/other things to play, but also because it just isn't a single player game and ive never got around to playing it with anyone else. We played 5 player Mario Chase on it at the N-E meet though last year and it was a blast. It's a total missed opportunity not having any online, let alone any voice chat.

Just ran somewhere between 20 and 22 miles. My legs are dead! London Marathon in 13 days. Scared, but I've done it before, and it's only a little further than I did today, no traffic lights and pedestrians, more drinks, and a crowd and thousands of other runners to keep me going. Aaahahhhhhh.

Really brilliant article written by Claudio Ranieri. Seriously, must read: http://www.theplayerstribune.com/claudio-ranieri-leicester-city-premier-league/

I think if Ashley hated Nintendo and their games he wouldn't still be running this place! Silly comment.

Backwards Compatibility is great as long as it doesn't hinder the actual current generation capabilities of the console. That even means if they don't make the console as powerful so they can also include the Wii U chip in there. We saw with the PS3 they quickly got rid of the PS2 chip to reduce costs. It's a nice feature to have, but shouldn't be the priority. Having the controllers compatible is useful, though, especially as new controllers these days cost a bloody fortune.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Mr-Paul replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Meh, voice acting in Zelda isn't new! -
Me and @Ashley went to a Mario Kart tournament hosted by @dazzybee for London Games Festival. It was a good night! It was a total fix and dazzybee won. Ashely got to the final. I got to the semis where I was fucked over by Toad's Fucking Turnkpike. Such a shit track. A great night, lots of fun and plenty of alcohol, not bad considering dazzybee is a scummy spurs supporter But seriously good night mate, nice to meet you

Stopping Pokémon moving forwards because "some places might not have internet" is silly. If everyone followed that logic we'd be stuck in the stone age. A cloud option is totally the way forward. Save your Pokémon to the cloud, go to an event, log-in, and battle. No need to bring anything with you. You could have one universal Pokémon account that could stretch across a home console game, portable game and mobile. And surely a system like this would stop any hacks/cheating too?

Motion controls are great when they are fun, easy to use, and feel natural and fit with the game. I love most of the uses of motion controls on the Wii. They shouldn't be a hindrance in any way. Star Fox Zero's are, from what I've played, which admittedly isn't as much as the people reviewing it/putting out these videos, bloody awkward. They don't feel natural and for me, they're just there for the sake of having motion controls and the game would be a lot more fun without them. We'll wait and see how they've turned out when it comes out, but the bad impression they left on me from the demo I played means I won't be rushing out for this one.

Finally got around to seeing this today. It was ok. Dragged a bit too much. Thought it'd work better without Batman. He was a bit pointless and shit, really. The film stalled whenever it went to a Batman scene. Then when it came to Batman v Superman:

Put in my order! Don't think I've ever spent that much on a game, but it's technically three games so...!

Runs pretty quick on my Z3 Compact and iPad mini 2. Some slight loading occasionally but nothing too bad. But yeah, it's an absolute battery drain. Has anyone had any success on Miitomo Drop? All I get are sweets! Apologies if you visit my Mii's room and are offended by my farewell message! Love the lack of censorship on this!

Glad it's going well @Rummy, sounds like you've got a nice thing going there With the pop culture stuff, for me I don't think it's anything to hold back a relationship, if anything I think it can be an advantage as you'll introduce each other to things that you may not have looked at otherwise - nothing wrong with broadening your horizons. At the very least, it's something you can laugh about. As you said, the family side of things is the more awkward side, but as long as you're happy and she's happy, and they're respectable people and you build up trust with them so they don't just think you're taking advantage of the girl, all should be fine. You say you're nervous of certain people/how they'd react, but if they've known you for a long time they may actually see it as a positive as they know you're a good guy so can trust the girl with you. Saying that, I don't know how my friend would react if she found out that I'd slept with her daughter! She knows that we hang out together alone when I'm down but I'm not sure if she would ever suspect anything more had happened!

Not exactly wow when every other console has had that for years, but yes, wow for Nintendo The My Nintendo site is pretty slick indeed.

Yeah, that's exactly how I'm treating it. Its an interesting situation because I've known her for quite a long time (her mum is a ex-work colleague that I'm really good friends with) but we'd kind of been out of contact for a couple of years but since we've re-connected (and she's been an adult) it's turned into a closer friendship, with a flirty edge to it that's ended up going further on a couple of occasions. The seven year age gap really doesn't feel that big in terms of maturity/etc. its literally just logistics and timing that are keeping me from getting much hope of it becoming any more. But yeah, I'm not getting hung up on it because we're good friends anyway, and I value that moreso than any potential romantic relationship that I know wouldn't work right now, I just wouldn't ever rule it out, as who knows if that little spark will still be there. We joked that "in x years if we're both single we'll get married," but yeah, for now I'll just happily take anything that happens related to this, because I've been single for ages and she's really hot But equally, I won't let it stop anything that may happen with anyone else - not getting attached because that'd be really silly with the situation as it is. How is the situation with your age-gap thing? IIRC there was that kind of family/friend situation with you too. For me, the age gap is just a number and it really depends on the individual person/life situation, it's not like in America where they seem to think liking someone younger is putting you on the verge of paedophilia.

Made out with my hot 18 year old friend again last night. While I don't mind that the couple of times we've hooked up have been completely casual, it's kind of frustrating in a way that we're at completely different stages of life/live miles and miles apart, if things were a bit different maybe there could be something there because we're really great friends and have really good chemistry with each other, but as it is, I don't think there is any way either of us would consider a relationship, it wouldn't work at all. I'll just enjoy it for what it was, never thought I'd be in this kind of situation, or was that kind of to have someone who is turning out to be a sort of friend with benefits! Who knows, nothing may ever happen between us again but it's a nice feeling to know there's the potential there!

Eddie the Eagle Nothing remarkable about this film, but it was a "nice" film, if you know what I mean. An amusing British sports comedy. Stupidly not released in the Winter or coinciding with the Winter Olympics. Zootropolis Excellent. Really good. Clever. Funny. Brilliant animation. Go see it. Not much to say about it other than how good it was! 10 Cloverfield Lane Nothing like the original, but still, a good film. Not too scary (it was only a 12A) but good tension throughout. Not sure about the ending though. My 2016 List Star Wars: The Force Awakens x 2 Daddy's Home The Danish Girl Creed Room Dirty Grandpa The Revenant The Big Short Spotlight Dad's Army Deadpool Triple 9 Grimsby London Has Fallen Hail, Caesar! Allegiant Eddie the Eagle Zootropolis 10 Cloverfield Lane Will probably catch Batman v Superman next weekend. Normally I'd have seen a film like that straight away but have been too busy with work!

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens (All Platforms)
Mr-Paul replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Other Consoles
Looks very nice, will definitely be looking at picking this up at some point. I wonder if it has an open world element like Lego Marvel or whether it's just got a small hub you go to the levels through. -
It is a little peculiar, but essentially, it's just a meter of the percentage of critics that liked it. I guess the thought is that if 90% of critics are positive, which for major blockbusters ends up being a pretty large sample size, there's a 90% chance you'll like it too? The problem there is that critics are often looking for different things in a film than the general public, so it can't really be taken as gospel. It should just be used as a tool to help you decide whether something is worth watching, along with your own preferences etc., not used as a complete rating of film quality.

I'm not saying it needs to be identical. I'm saying it needs the games.

Zootopia (or Zootropolis as it's known in Europe) is bloody brilliant. It's more than just slightly above average! A very fun movie. GO SEE IT EVERYONE. (Sorry, I know this is the Batman thread, but Ashley took it off topic!) I don't care too much if the plot is a little messy. As long as it's not boring. That's the worst thing a film can be, for me.

The third party situation is actually the thing I'm most interested in finding out about. Because I believe the NX has little chance of real success unless it has the big multi-platform releases on par with the other consoles and not just late ports that don't satisfy anyone. Like it or not, it needs FIFA, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, and not gimped versions. Great, unique Nintendo software can draw people to the console, but having plenty of games available is what will make people stay. The Wii U simply hasn't had enough games on it, for a whole array of reasons I don't think we need to go into. I guess it really depends on how "different" the console is. I understand the need for Nintendo to carve their own niche and try and innovate, but ultimately, unless it has the games it doesn't matter how great the console/its unique features are. We've just got to hope that whatever unique features there are don't put developers off and that they think they are worth the effort.

It's doing pretty poorly at the moment - 40% on RT. What happened to all those positive impressions from yesterday? At least it's not as poorly received as Fantastic Four was last year! I'm sure I'll probably still find it enjoyable, I'm not that picky and don't tend to let reviews effect my judgement of a movie. I just wonder what all these people hated about it? (Not reading any of them.)

But what's wrong with having an option to import friends from a NNID, alongside importing them from FB/Twitter? Nothing. It's a massive oversight.
