Saw the first showing at my cinema this evening. Enjoyed it. Was good. Pre credits sequence didn't really excite me at all. Credits sequence nice apart from the awful song. Like Skyfall, some really nice cinematography. Really really enjoyed Ralph Fiennes as M. Judi Dench has played the character all my life so thought it'd be odd with someone else but his performance/character was really strong. I've never quite felt that Daniel Craig was 'Bond' if you know what I mean, but I think I finally got into him as the character with this film. Some quite funny parts throughout the film. I felt the violence didn't feel real enough - you could sort of tell they weren't really hitting each other, if you know what I mean. I'm sure previous films, even the more recent ones, had a bit more grit to them. Similarly, lack of sex. With regards to some spoilers...

Cheers for the help lads, much appreciated. Might pop out to the high street to have a look but reckon I'm going to wait to see what bundles are around when Star Wars Battlefront comes out in a few weeks. That's a good point Rummy that they might have the white console in the inshore bundles where they don't online. Whenever I do take the plunge, looking forward to some games with you lot

At the moment you can get the 500GB black console with the new Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, Uncharted and Driveclub for £300, or the same sort of thing with the 1TB and the PSTV for £330. Most places are just selling the white for £300 on its own or with just one game, so yeah, it's a bit of a debate what to go for and whether to wait a bit longer or jump in. And really I just want the white console to be a bit different to everything else in my room which is black :P

Think I'm going to be joining the PS4 club very soon, just got some vouchers from doing some photography for a family member, so they'll go nicely towards a new console. Really wanted a white console but all the best deals seem to be with the black console/the 1TB. May have to sacrifice my preferred colour for the sake of getting the best deal. Undecided whether to jump in now or wait for the release of Star Wars Battlefront/Black Friday.

They were unlucky in that they had the most marginal goal-line technology call ever - the ball was 99% over the line, then Fabregas was flagged offside when he was probably just about level. Other than that they were just shite.

Have already watched Part 1 and Part 2 today, don't think i'll be able to fit in Part 3 but will definitely be watched tomorrow. Great films! Forgot how good the music is in it too!

It's odd. I love Zelda and I quite enjoyed what I played the demo, but I'm really not feeling this. Zelda usually feels like an event, something big. But i'm feeling next to no excitement about this. I'd usually be desperate to get a Zelda game on release but I actually think I'm going to wait a bit for this...

Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water (30th Oct)
Mr-Paul replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
The fact she is supposedly a gravure idol adds absolutely nothing to the plot. It's one insignificant detail in one cutscene, probably put in simply justify the bikini costume. It's definitely not a main part of her character. -
Any chance you'd be willing to send one of the badges to me? I'd happily pay you a few quid for one!

The thing with the bikini costumes is they are completely pointless - they're purely there for titillation and add nothing to the protagonists' character. We know Nintendo aren't totally against any sexualisation - we got Bayonetta after all, and although she wears some questionable costumes, the overt sexuality is part of her personality. There's absolutely no reason for the girls in this game to be in bikinis. They add nothing. What they've done is remove something that is just there to objectify the girls in it, and replaced it with some nice bonus costumes for Nintendo fans. I can't see the problem with that, personally. Sure, they might be nice to look at, but really, they're unneeded. -
Exactly the same! Told myself I wasn't going to watch it, but I'm weak and it was on as soon as I woke up! The only reason I haven't watched it even more is the fact I'm on a train with poor Internet signal. So ridiculously excited. SEREBII WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?

Yes, they come from absolutely all angles! They can be a bit slow and plodding at times - sometimes you're there focussing on the ghost waiting for it to attack you so you can get a Fatal Frame but it just feels like standing there. But indeed, in general they are quite quick moving, and often will disappear and come at you from a different angle. One kind of ghost I think I fluked my way through against all the way through the game I found it that tricky to keep track of (not to mention they travel in packs and even revive each other)! It's quite quick to turn around using the gyro controls and the right stick, but can be quite tricky to actually find the ghost at points, but as I said in the review, I feel it adds to the fear and immersion - if you were in this situation in real life, it wouldn't be easy to quickly find a ghost that's disappeared and re-materialised somewhere else while looking through a camera lens! I've seen quite a few reviews complain that the controls are clunky - they are. It can indeed be frustrating when in small rooms facing up against a ghost who has a greater range of movement than you. But the combination of classic third person survival horror controls with the gyroscopic, almost first person shooter-ish gameplay is something that on the whole, works well and was fun to play. I'd be happy to answer any other questions people may have -

Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water - The N-Europe review! -
I feel like I'm the only person on the internet who's actually managed to get through for the BFI IMAX! So lucky. Keep going guys, you can do it! I'm through again and not even half the seats have gone. Don't give up hope!

Managed to get a ticket for the midnight showing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the BFI IMAX. Very lucky as it seems to be constantly crashing for the rest of the internet. I can't wait. Can we skip the next two months please?

Bloody Nintendo. I made sure I didn't spoil those costumes in my review (coming Monday!) then they go and spoil it themselves. Always have to ruin everything :p -
Also had a dry spell for quite a while, both in terms of relationships and casual stuff/dating. To be fair, I hadn't really been trying, and I lived in area full of old people and chavs. Was planning on getting back on the dating scene now I'm up in London, but had a lot going on recently so I haven't really got started yet. That dry spell was broken on Friday night, rather unexpectedly. Also broke the "half your age plus seven" rule. Whoops. We had pizza before and McDonalds after though. Not KFC. Sorry Moogle, I failed your legacy. Totally worth it though.

Started my new job properly on Friday. Going well so far. Not quite as creative as I'd like as quite a lot of the systems we use are automatic, unless the client for that particular match is paying for full commentary rather than just barebones. But it's at least in the right field and at some points I will get to use my journalistic skills a bit more than I have so far, it's mainly just been technical. Still, when it's purely technical I can actually try to do other work of my own at the same time (or just watch TV!) so it's a pretty good deal. As I said before, it's just freelance for now so it's not full time, but they seem impressed with me so far, dealt with quite a few unexpected problems on my own so they said I was thrown in at the deep end! Hopefully if I continue to impress it'll develop into a full time role

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl Really good. Very touching and poignant, while still light-hearted and funny in places. A nice indie drama. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials Really didn't like this. Found it really boring. I was a fan of the first film, and a fan of the books, but this made too many changes and was a big disappointment. Everest Beautifully shot, I was expecting it to be a disaster movie, and while it does have a disaster, I liked that it spent time reaching the top of the mountain rather than just being about the tragedy. Jason Clarke is 500x better in this than in Terminator Genisys. Sicario Good film. Tense. But I didn't like it much. Just not my sort of thing, I guess. The Martian Actually saw this twice. Really enjoyable, funny, exciting, just an all around decent sci-fi film. Out of recent 'space travel' films, I preferred this to Interstellar. Will be getting the book of this to read at some point. The Intern A nice, but average film. Not overly funny, not too exciting, but the leads, Robert de Niro and Anne Hathaway, make it worth a watch. Decent premise, some good dialogue; I enjoyed it. No-one looks good in every photo, silly! But in those ones, you do look good. Take all these compliments to make yourself feel good about yourself, and use that confidence in your appearance and you'll look better in even more photos. And smile! (On the topic of New Forest weddings, I went to one earlier this year at The Beaulieu Hotel, right next to Beaulieu Road train station, and it was absolutely lovely. No idea of the cost, but the whole reception couldn't have been better and their staff were extremely helpful.)

Got a ticket to Glastonbury next year

Typically it's the one week I didn't put Aguero as my captain for fantasy league. GRRRRRRRR. Great to see Chelsea continue being so shit. Arsenal really need a result tomorrow against Man U.

Dare I ask how much money that set you back?
